In the southeastern section of Jefferson County, south of Highway TT and west of Danby Road, lies what could be the oldest existing residential dwelling in Jefferson County. The one-story log cabin with fireplace was built in 1821, and in 1842 a two-story house was built adjacent to the cabin.
