David Abney

 

Mr. David Abney, age 86, of Festus, Mo., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City, Mo.

Born June 21, 1916, in Salem Missouri, he was the son of the late Hunter Abney and the late Meda Abney, nee (Henson).

In 1954, Mr. Abney founded Abney’s Phillip 66 Service Station, located on Old A Hwy, now Frontier Rd. Mr. Abney was also a retired crane operator for the St. Joe Lead Co.

David and Goldie Abney were married March 21, 1939 in St Louis, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie Marie Abney; nee (Turnbough) of Festus Mo.

Son-Lowell Abney of Potosi, Mo.

Son-Lesley Abney of Festus, Mo.

Interment will be at Lower Indian Creek Cemetery, Courtois, Missouri
