Calvin D. Taylor

 

Calvin D. Taylor. Age 73, of De Soto, MO, passed away on May 9, 2006. 

He was born the son of William E. & Anna L. (nee King) Taylor who precede him in death. 

He is survived by his sons David C. (Kim) Taylor, Mark M. Taylor, Calvin D. (Jill) Taylor; daughter Deborah Kay (Chester) Chotrow; 

sisters Willie Ann Braswell and Sandra (Hardy) Peacock; and special friend Joyce Frey. 

He had 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Along with his parents, Calvin is preceded in death by a son Mike Taylor and a sister Lucretia Taylor. 

Visitation Thurs., May 11, 2006 5-8pm. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, 2006 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. 

Interment in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery - De Soto, MO

Larry L. Thomas, formerly of Redford, MO, age 62, passed away April 14, 2006.
He was born the son of Otto and Thelma (nee Blatz) Thomas who precede him in death. 

He is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Maglione) Thomas and two sons Kevin (Mindy) Thomas and Scott (Jamie) Thomas and his mother-in-law Grace L. Maglione. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren. 

Visitation will take place from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tues., April 18, 2006 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Wed., April 19 at Our Lady Catholic Church with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City, MO. Memorials may be made to St. George's Catholic Church in Van Buren, MO for new vestments.

Beverly Thurmond

Beverly Ann Thurmond, 62, of De Soto, died March 27, 2006, in Crystal City.  

Mrs. Thurmond was a cook for the De Soto School District.  She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church.  

Born July 6, 1943, in Blackwell, she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. and Mary Louise Huskey.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Thurmond.

She is survived by one son, Michael E. (Pamela) Thurmond of De Soto: one brother, LeRoy Huskey of De Soto;  

two sisters: Diana (Dennis) Husch of De Soto and Vicky (Bill) Thomure of Farmington; 

and two grandchildren:  Michael and Erika Thurmond of De Soto.  

She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Rose Huskey.

Funeral services were held March 31 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Ron Hopmeir. 

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto.  

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or in the form of Masses in Mrs. Thurmond's honor.

Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.

Wanda Toulouse


Wanda Lee Toulouse, 81, Crystal City, died April 29, 2006, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. 

She was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Morse Mill, the daughter of John F. and Bertha (Whitworth) Girardier.
Wanda was court reporter for the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Jefferson County for 25 years. 

She was a legal secretary for 15 years and title inspector for six years. 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City and secretary to the administrative board. 

She was Past Matron, 15-year secretary and 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, #417 

and also held dual membership with Hillsboro Eastern Star. 

She served as District Deputy of the Eastern Star 40th district and was grand officer with the Grand Chapter of Missouri. 

She was past grand guardian of Missouri IOJD and past guardian of Bethel 56 in Hillsboro. 

She was a life member and treasurer of Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. 

She was a charter member and past president of Jefferson County Women's Democratic Club.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Toulouse, whom she married June 13, 1948; 

   her daughter, Anne L. Toulouse of New Orleans; 

   her son, Jeffrey E. (Dawn) Toulouse of Houston; 

   two sisters, Oleta Gibbons of De Soto and Carol (Elden) Lee of Cedar Hill; 

   her brother, Darrell Girardier of De Soto; 

   her granddaughter, Hailee Toulouse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Helen Girardier.
Funeral was May 2 from Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, 

to the First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, 

with the Rev. Margie Woods officiating. 

Interment is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. 

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Dorothy Troutman, 74, of Arnold, died March 7, 2006, in St. Louis. 
Mrs. Troutman was a chemist with Sigma Chemical. 
Born November 27, 1931, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Walters.
She is survived by two sons: James (Debra) Troutman of De Soto and Mark Troutman of Arnold;
one daughter, Linda Mantia of St. Louis; a sister, Jeanne (Jack) Roeser of Chicago, ILL;
10 grandchildren, Angela, Melissa, Eric, Justin, Jarrod, Ashley, Anthony, Tracey, Ed and Stacy; and one great-grandchild, Jennifer.
A memorial gathering is scheduled for 11a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 1pm on Saturday, March 18,
at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses. 
Burial will be private.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
