Fred Wright, age 86 of Hillsboro Missouri, passed away on Friday February 9, 2007, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, in St. Louis County Mo. He was born July 19, 1920 in Paris Tenn. Fred was an assembly line worker and retired from Carter Carburetor, a member of U.A.W. local # 819, Amvets Post # 45, De Soto Mo. and Disabled American Veterans. A veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II, and was wounded in battle on Feb, 11, 1945, in Germany and the recipient of a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Survived by his wife Jennie T. Wright (nee Augustyniak) of Hillsboro Mo. whom he Married on March 16, 1974. in Clayton Mo. also two brothers John Wright of Doniphan, MO, and Ernest Wright of Caruthersville Mo. and Nieces and Nephews Gary Stevens, Larry Hatley, Ramona Wright, Dennis and Danny Augustyniak and Sandy Moonier.Preceded in death by his Parents John E. and Dorothy E. Wright (nee Grainger), three sisters Evelyn Corbin, Ethel Stevens and Orena Hatley as well as two nephews Ron St. Germain and Tommy Hatley.Visitation will be held Sunday Feb 11, 2007 at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home 103 Fourth St. Hillsboro Mo. 63050 from 12 Noon until 4:00 PM.Funeral Service at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 12 noon Monday. Interment Jefferson Barracks. Memorials to Good Shepherd Church Appreciated.

Maxine R. Williams Carter, 87, of De Soto died Feb 6, 2007, in De Soto. Mrs. Carter was a teacher in Kansas and at Peter Moore School in De Soto. She was a 52-year member of PEO, a member of Louisiana Purchase DAR and a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Born May 29, 1919, in Protection, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Francis Ray and Edith (Huskey) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Carter. She is survived by one daughter, Jan (Werner) Stichling of De Soto; and two grandchildren: James Robert Stichling of De Soto and Thomas Michael Stichling of De Soto. Visitation held at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in DeSoto on Feb 9, 2007 from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. with funeral service at 5:00p.m., officiated by the Rev. Darlene Payne. Burial was in the De Soto City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Children’s Home Society. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.

Thomas W. Daugherty, 81, of De Soto died Feb 14, 2007, in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Daugherty worked for Cassen’s Transport Co., and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. Born July 13, 1925 in Blackwell, MO., he was the son of the late Thomas Timon and Mary Ellen Daugherty. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah Marie (Sadler) Daugherty of De Soto; one son, Ronald (Barb) Daugherty of De Soto; three daughters: Rose Moyers of Potosi, Mary (Jerry) Huskey of Jackson and Barb Philipak of O’Fallon; three brothers: Joe (Juanita) Daugherty of Cadet, Cecil Daugherty of Florida and Mike Daugherty of Florissant; three sisters: Sister Marie Daugherty of St. Louis, Helen (Edward) Sanders of Ste. Genevieve and Lucy (William) Lally of Florissant: two sisters-in-law: Catherine Daugherty and Christine Daugherty of Cadet; one brother-in-law, William Meyer of Toledo, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. William "Bill" Henderson Age 81, of Hillsboro Missouri, passed away on February 25, 2007, at his home in Hillsboro. He was born on December 09, 1925, in Montgomery, Pennsylvania. Bill was a graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia, and a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. A WW II Navy veteran, he served in both Atlantic and Pacific Theaters, He was the editor of The Jefferson County Record, Rocket, Northwest Booster, and the De Soto Republic and Press. Bill was Jefferson County’s first purchasing agent and the City of Hillsboro's first Municipal Judge. Bill was a past member of Hillsboro City Board of Aldermen, past board member and president of the Hillsboro R-3 School District Board of Education, known as the "Voice of the Hawks", Hillsboro Food Pantry Board Member/Volunteer, former Secretary of the Hillsboro Fire Protection District Board of Directors, lifetime member of the B.P.O.E Elks, #689, De Soto, and editor of Elks State publication.  He was a Charter member of Hillsboro Rotary Club, member of the Hillsboro Civic Club, organized and coached Little League in Hillsboro and worked at the district level, was liaison to the National Election News Service, Jefferson Memorial Hospital Volunteer, Elder of the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, Greater Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year" and recipient of the Jeffersonian Award. Survived by: Wife-Patricia J. "Pat" Henderson (nee Evans) of Hillsboro Missouri whom he married on September 8, 1951 in Brentwood, MO,  also daughters – Susangela "Susie" (husband Joe) Thurman of Arnold, MO, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Henderson of Toledo, OR; son - William A. "Squeak" Henderson Jr. of Dallas, TX; granddaughters -Tricia Douglas of St. Louis, MO, Laura Thurman of Arnold, MO, Maggie Larimer of Carmel, CA.; grandsons - Jeff Thurman of Arnold, MO, and Jeremiah Henderson of Galveston, TX. He is also survived by a brother Donald Henderson and sister Dorothy Prather both of Overland Park, KS. Danny E. Peck, 48, of Leadwood died Feb 25, 2007, in Farmington. Mr. Peck was disabled. Born September 26, 1958, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Daniel and Sulesta (Moore) Peck. He is survived by one sister, Cathy Smetzer of Leadwood; and two nephews: Daniel "D.J." Starwalt of Leadwood and Tommy Smetzer of Festus. Graveside services were held Feb 28, 11:00a.m. at the Herculaneum Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
