Jamie Lynn Werts, age 17 of Hillsboro Missouri, passed away suddenly on March 08, 2007, in Festus Missouri. Jamie was born May 17, 1989, in Hillsboro Missouri. Jamie was a senior at Hillsboro High School. She was a Hillsboro Hawks varsity Cheerleader. Member of Honor Society, track team, and marching band. She is survived by, Parents- Mark A. and Tami L Werts (nee Skaller) of Hillsboro Missouri, Brother-Jason S. Werts of Barnhart Missouri, Brother-Justin A. Werts of Hillsboro Missouri, Grandparents-Neal and Pat Werts (nee Hallquist) of Stillwater Oklahoma, Grandmother-June Breshear of Independence Missouri, Uncle-Dale (Sally) Werts of Smithville Missouri, Aunt-Marsha (Ken) Hobart of Wichita Kansas, Aunt-Terri Turner of University City Missouri. Also survived by her many, teachers, students, and friends at Hillsboro High School. She was preceded in death by, Grandfather-William Skaller, Uncle-Dean Werts, Memorial Visitation-Tuesday March 13, 2007, from 3PM to 7PM at the Hillsboro Civic Center, Hillsboro, Missouri. Memorial Service-Tuesday March 13, 2007, at 7PM at the Hillsboro Civic Center. Interment will be private. A memorial fund in Jamie’s name has been established at Bank of Hillsboro or the family would appreciate donations to be made to Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Inc.

Constance C. Fitzgerald (nee Leippe) age 77 of Festus Missouri, passed away on March 3, 2007, at Festus Manor Nursing in Festus Missouri. She was born September 21, 1929 in Centerville Iowa to the Late Herbert Edwin and Edna Leippe (nee Lawton). Constance was a retired Secretary. Survived by: Son- David (wife Jeanne), Son-Chris (wife Donna), Daug-Patricia. Also survived by, Nine Grandchildren, four Great grandchildren and the many friends and caregivers at Festus Manor Nursing. Interment Washington University School of medicine.

Brittany Lynn Emerson, 21, Hillsboro died March 11, 2007 in Hillsboro. She worked at Hardee’s in Hillsboro and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Born July 4, 1985, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Jimmy and Catherine (Lopretta) Emerson of Hillsboro. She was also survived by two brothers: Jimmy (Kathy) Emerson Jr., of St. John and Derek Emerson; one sister, Amanda (Brian) Austin of Farmington; one great-grandmother, Betty Barker of Florissant; two grandparents: Steve and Dottie Barker of St. John; two uncles: Ken Lopretta of St. Louis and Joe Doyle of St. Louis; two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by one grandfather, W.C. Emerson; two grandparents: Adam and Lorraine Lopretta; one aunt, Lynn Dole and two uncles: Fred Emerson and Sam Lopretta. Visitation was held at Mahn DeSoto Chapel on March 14, 2007 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral service was held at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Mar 15, 2007 at 10:00a.m.with Father Ron Hopmeir officiating. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in DeSoto. Memorials may be made toward funeral expenses or Birthright.

Maveric Lee Freeman was born and died March 21, 2007, in Farmington. Maveric was the son of Raymond Lee and Jeanette (Prosser) Freeman of Valle Mines. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents: Greg (Michelle) Henson of Bonne Terre and Jon (Theresa) Jakoubek of Valle Mines; his great-grandparents: Richard (Angela) Jakoubek of Valle Mines and Ernest (Christine) Freeman of Bonne Terre; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. with funeral services at 1:00p.m. on March 26, 2007 at Valle Mines Worship Center, officiated by the Rev. Wayne Kean. Burial was in the Freeman Family Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Mary M. Schroeder, 76 of DeSoto died March 21, 2007, in Crystal City. Mrs. Schroeder was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. She was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 1831. Born March 29, 1930, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Inez (Headlee) Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Schroeder. She is survived by three sons: George (Becki) Hoffman Sr. of DeSoto, Richard (Helen) Schroeder of Patton, MO., and John Schroeder of Columbia, MO; two daughters: Mary Sue Schroeder of DeSoto and Katie (Brad) Dodson of St. Louis; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Bill, Elmer, Bobby and Richard Phillips; and one sister, Ollie Whiteside. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mahn DeSoto Chapel. Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Chad Hodges. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Ralph Dean Bearden, 71, DeSoto, passed away March 26, 2007 in Crystal City. Mr. Bearden was a retired truck drive for Wonder Bread Co., and a veteran of the US Air Force. Born September 12, 1935 in Piggott, Arkansas, he was the son of the later Albert and Etta (Gross) Bearden. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leda (Tyler) Bearden of DeSoto; one daughter, Cynthia (Daniel) Erickson of Festus and three grandchildren: Callie, Brandon and Katelyn Erickson. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Visitation was March 29, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with funeral services following, officiated by the Rev. Don Bahr. Jacqueline E. "Jackie" Coleman, 46, of Festus died March 15, 2007, at Martin Memorial Center in Stuart, Florida, after a long battle with autoimmune disease. Mrs. Coleman was a teacher in the Festus and Jefferson R-7 School districts and a volunteer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Twin City Optimist Club, and was instrumental in that organization annual essay contest for many years. Born August 12, 1960, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of John and Gloria (Pulliam) Masters of Festus. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Coleman of Festus; one sister: Teresa (Jamie) Lively of Festus; one brother, Jeff Masters of Festus; three nephews, one niece, many friends and her little dog, Cowboy. Visitation is scheduled from 4-8p.m. March 22 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Mr. Mueller was the former owner of Gene’s Appliance in DeSoto and a member of the United Church of Christ in DeSoto. He was a veteran of the U.S, Army Signal Corps and a member of Masonic Lodge 119. Born March 2, 1928, in DeSoto, he was the son of the late Paul and Emma Mueller. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Woods) Mueller of Herculaneum; three daughters: Carol (Ray) Early of Festus, Donna Spickard of St. Louis and Carol (Jim)) Hasty of Springfield, MO; and two grandchildren: Julie and Christopher. Deloris J. Bieser, 67, of Festus died March 29, 2007 in Crystal City. Mrs. Bieser was a homemaker and an avid gardener and winner of Flower Garden of the Month.She and her husband played Santa and Mrs. Claus for many years, often sitting and waving to passersby from the porch of their home in full Santa costumes. Born June 22, 1939, in Batchtown, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late William O. and Geneva (Bell) Hill. She is survived b her husband, Joseph "Sonny" Bieser of Festus, three sons: Mike (Joan) Uding of Bloomsdale, Ken (Rhonda) Uding of Festus and Ricky Bieser of Festus; four daughters: Pam (Greg) Billings of Ste. Genevieve, Cindy (fiance’ Barry Vessell) Davison of DeSoto, Chrissy (Danny) Kent of Festus and Tammie (Allan) Daniel of Bunker Hill, Illinois; one brother, Bill (Ann) Hill of Ste. Genevieve, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 2 at Our Lady Catholic Church, officiated by Father John Kerber. Stacy L. Peck, 32, and Russell S. Peck, 37, of Festus died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on March 4, 2007, in Franklin County. Mrs. Peck was a media coordinator at Lutheran International center. Born June 26, 1974, in Kirkwood, she was the daughter of Charles and Patricia C. (Lady) Courtway of DeSoto. In addition to her parents, she is survived by an aunt, Jean (Mike) Adams of Lemay and two uncles: John Courtway of Washington county and Richard Pickett of St. Louis.

Mr. Peck was the athletic director at King of Glory Lutheran School. Born Nov. 17, 1969, in Wausau, Wisconsin, he was the son of Roger M. and Janice (Baumann) Peck of Merrill, Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Ryan (Sara) Peck of Merrill, Wisconsin; his step-grandfather, Jack Zimmermann of Merrill; and one nephew, Brady Peck of Merrill.

The Pecks were married Aug 10, 1996.

Memorial services for the couple will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, March 30, at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Jan Reimers. Burial was in the Mount Olive Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.
