Mr. Gary Mike "Bird" Winfield age 65, of Festus Missouri, passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis County Missouri. He was Born Nov, 14 1941 in St. Louis Missouri. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and worked as a Laborer forAsphaltic Concrete Corp and Vikco Asphalt Paving Corp. Survived by a Brother Willis "Tim" Winfield of Festus Missouri and special friends Rick and Victoria Crabdree (nee Weier) of Fenton Missouri. Preceded in death by his parents James K. and Edna M. Winfield (nee Spence) and a sister in law Cindy Winfield (nee Weier).No Visitation. Graveside Service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:45 on Friday July 13, 2007, those wishing to attend should assemble behind the cemetery office in the parking area no later than 12:30 PM. Nina Mae Harris, 89, DeSoto formerly of California, died July 14, 2007, at Baisch Nursing Home in DeSoto. She was a homemaker. Born Sept 7, 1917, in Modale, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Gertrude (Herman) Cherry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert A. Harris. She is survived by two children: Loreen Trask and Arlene Green; a sister, Vada Jensen; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Harris. Graveside services were Fri, July 20, 2007 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA.

William Charles "Bill" Gutjahr, age 78 of Barnhart Missouri. Passed away on Saturday July 21 2007, in Barnhart Missouri. He was born March 1, 1929 in St. Louis Missouri. He was a self employed carpenter,a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, Vice Commander of Chapter #3 Korean Veterans, Past Commander of Antonia Missouri V.F.W., Participated in over 50 funerals for homeless veterans and worked diligently to establish the Jefferson County Missouri "Wall of Honor" for Veterans. Bill was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Imperial Missouri and worked to help the poor through the parish St. Vincent DePaul Society. Survived by his loving companion of 36 years Betty L. Brown (nee Hitchings) of Barnhart Missouri, stepson- Bruce (Mary Dee) Brown of St. Louis Missouri. Stepdaughter- Janice L (Richard) Kempa of Hillsboro Missouri, stepdaughter Ellen M. (Dwain) Smith of Hillsboro Missouri, stepson Scott (Stephanie) Brown and 18 step grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents William H. and Dorothy Gutjahr (nee Thierath), a stepson- Douglas Brown, three brothers Louis, Joseph and Paul Gutjhar, two sisters Florance White and Virginia Kossmann. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 24, 2007 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Inc. 103 fourth St. Hillsboro Missouri. Funeral will be held Wednesday July 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks with full Military Honors. Memorials in his honor to St. Vincent DePaul, Jefferson County "Wall of Honor" for Veterans or the Homeless Veterans Program.

LLoyd G. "Doc" Harness, 80 of DeSoto died July 24, 2007, in Crystal City.  Mr. Harness was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW.  Born Nov 28, 1926 in DeSoto, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Neucomb) Harness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Harness. He is survived by one brother: John Harness Sr. of Ste.Genevieve; three stepsons: Frank (Mary) Weber of DeSoto, John Weber of DeSoto and Kenneth (Sandra) Weber of DeSoto, and three stepdaughters: Ramona Sebastian of DeSoto, Rebecca Stalnaker of Austin, Texas, and Mildred Weber of Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Meehan. Funeral services were held July 27 at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses.  Burial was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Price of Bonne Terre; one daughter, Trudy A. (Dirk) Stringer of Fenton; two brothers: Tom (Carrie) Hopkins and Harry (Glenda) Hopkins; both of Old Mines, Missouri. one sister, Anne Hasty of Old Mines; 12 grandchildren: Danielle Tyrey Flores, Bridget Tyrey, Drew Stringer, Jeremy Price, Matt P rice, Kari Price Reissing, Kristen Price Casey, Brandon Price, Amber O'Neil, Devon Dower, Brandon Browning and Loni Beth Price; and eight grandchildren.
