Hazel Celeste Evans (nee Ems), age 78 of Hillsboro Missouri, passed away on Saturday September 1, 2007, at St Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County Missouri. Born September 10, 1928. in Hillsboro Missouri. Survived by daughter-JoAnn Marie (Leland) Enloe of Hillsboro Missouri, son- Gregory Allan (Sue) Evans of Hillsboro Missouri, son- Edwin Eugene "Buddy" (Sherry)Evans of Dittmer Missouri, son- Roland Roger ( Laura) Evans of Hillsboro Missouri, son- James Denny (Tamara) Evans of Hillsboro Missouri, also survived by a nephew- Warren (Pam) Ems of Hillsboro Missouri. Loving grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 1. Preceded in death by her husband Edwin Evans, parents- Lucas and Marie "Lizzie" Ems (nee Beckmann), brother- Oliver E. Ems, special cousin- Mamie Beckmann, and an infant sister. Visitation will be held at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home Inc. Hillsboro Missouri on Tuesday September 4, 2007 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM. Preceded in death by her husband Daniel F. Kohl Sr. and a son Darin Kohl as well as brother in law- Ed Pitchua. Thanks to the "Posse" who helped throughout her illness. Naomi Belle "Granny" Willard, 83, of Mineral Point, Mo, passed away on Sep 6, 2007 at her home.  She was a Postal Worker for the U.S. Postal Service, a me mber of Chapter #321 of Eastern Star, Caledonia, Missouri and a member of Belgrade Chapter #394. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Cadet, Missouri.   Born on August 1, 1924 in Papillion, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Eva L. (Potter) Lindner. She is survived by a daughter, Terrell K. Bolyard, Cadet; a sister: Clara L. Lindner, Mineral Point; 1 grand-daughter: Anne M. (Billy) O'Neail; 4 greatchildren:  Zachary R., Ethan S., and Rozina K. O'Neail and Larry D. Emory. 1 great great grandchild: Dalton X. Emory. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: William Lloyd, Garold Lucian and russell D. Lindner and 1 sister: Ruth Ippisch. Ronald Lee Gassmann passed away on September 3, 2007.  Beloved husband of Nancy (Fraszler) Gassmann for nearly 40 years.  He was the son of the late Elmer and Rosalie (Medley) Gassmann.  Dear Father of Marie (Brian) Livengood and dea r grandfather of Veronica and Gabrielle Livengood. Funeral visitation will be held at Mahn DeSoto Chapel between 4:00pm and 8:00pm on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007.  Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 with burial in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery - DeSoto, MO.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Kidney Foundation.

Garland Bemjamin Lowry, 79, of DeSoto died Sep 7, 2007 in DeSoto.  Mr. Lowry was a land surveyor and member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hillsboro Ward.  Born July 13, 1928 in Ware, Mo., he was the son of the late John Joseph and Lola Belle (Green) Lowry.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice L. (Pounds) Lowry. He is survived by three sons: Richard Lowry of DeSoto, Mich ael D. (Meleah Gaye) Lowry of DeSoto and Christopher M. (Tina) Lowry of Rexburg, Idaho; one brother, Melvin (Becky) Lowry of Hillsboro; four sisters: Lillian (Mel) Sims of Hillsboro, Doyne Wilson of Festus, Blanche Maness of Old Mines and Bonnie (George ) Thornton of Hillsboro; and 11 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two daughters: Terry Lynn Lowry and Cheryl Sue Lowry. Funeral services were held Sep 12 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hillsboro Ward, officiated by Bishop Richard Weaver.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to Leukemia Society.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Pierson, 48, of DeSoto died Sep 8, 2007 in Crystal City.  Mr. Pierson was a truck driver for Ted Bradford Construction.  Born Oct 19, 1958 in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Geraldine (Hardin) and Harry Pierson Sr. He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Gamel) Pierson of DeSoto; a son, Dustin Shaefer of Imperial; four daughters: Angela Pierson of St. Louis, Christina Pierson of Festus, Shannon (Ken) Beckemeyer of Festus and Wendy Schmatt of Elsah, Ill.; three brothers: Harry (Betty) Pierson Jr. of Potosi, Troy (Renee) Hardin of Pevely and Sonny Hardin of Pevely; three sisters: Sandy (Ed) Hulvey of Marquand, Debbie (Greg) Hulvey of Bonne Terre and Charlotte Burns of DeSoto; six grandchildren: Kayla, Dillon, Tyler, Billy, Deacon and Natasha; and 11 nieces and nephews: Ricky, Ryan, Mike, Alex, Shane, Paul, Cathleen, Amanda, Tina, Amber and Suzanne. Funeral services are scheduled for 1p.m. Sept 1 3 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses.  Burial is in the Gamel Cemetery in Fesuts.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Pearl A. (Valek)  McKeen, 72, of Festus passed away Thurs, Sept 6, 2007 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. She was a homemaker, member of VFW Auxiliary Post 3777 and member of  Festus Church of Christ. She was born April 17, 1935 in Richwoods, MO to the late Joseph and Gladys (Pinson) Valek. She is survived by her son, James (Beverly) McKeen; two daughters; Roxanna House and Tina Marie (Herbert) Smith; one sister, Naomi (John) Reynolds; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great gr andchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene McKeen; son, Larry McKeen; two brothers: Theodore Valek and Joseph Valek; and one sister, Norma Baker. Funeral service was Mon, Sept 10, 2007 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. Burial was in Hillsboro City Cemetery.

Betty Jean (Prentice) Gaddy, 82, of Festus, MO passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Crystal City, MO.   She was born March 2, 1925 in Steelville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clarence and Betty Ann (Martin) Prentice.  She was a homemaker.  She is survived by  2 sons: H. James (Mary) Gaddy of Wheatland, Wyoming; Rick (Cecilia) Gaddy of Festus, Missouri; 2 daughters: Rhonda (Jerry) Overberg of Festus, Missouri and Jean Johnston of California; She also leaves behind 2 sisters:  Opal (Harvey) Haynes of Festus, Missouri and Wanda Mallow of Waynesville, Missouri; 8 grandchildren: Michael and Mathew Kister, Christopher and Sherry Gaddy, Richard, Kevin, Brenda and C hristopher Johnston. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter LaDonna Johnston. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Mahn Twin City Chapel, with her funeral service on Friday, September 14, 2007, at 10:00a.m. officiated by Rev. Germain and the late Anna (Eaton) Germain. She is survived by two daughters; Tammy Germain and Dina Mercer; two brothers; Charles O. Germain, Jr and Vernon B. "Buddy" Germain; three sisters; Nina (Ken) Lionberger, Clara "Penny" (Herbert) McCollom and the late Rita Spatafora; and six grandchildren. He was a retired Fuel Truck Driver. Fuwell, 74, Festus, born May 12, 1923 in Southeast Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in Crystal City, MO.  Mr. Fuwell was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ruby (McEatridg e) Fuwell. He was married to Mary L. (Faulkner) Fuwell of Festus.  He is survived by 4 sons:  Keith (Theresa) Fuwell, St. Louis; Kerry (Paula) Fime, DeSoto; Tim (Dawn) Kime, DeSoto; and Rick (Trudy) Kime, of DeSoto; 3 daughters: Becky (Mike) Bequette of DeSoto, Debbie (Mike) Grice of St. Louis and Kathy (Dennis) Gowen of Festus; a brother Doyle (Jewel) Fuwell of Davisville and a brother-in-law Leon Dover of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 gr eat-great-granschild. He was also preceded in deathy by  2 sisters: Shirley Dover and Virginia reid and 1 grandson, Shannon Fuwell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the ourdoors. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Andrew DeGeare and Benjamin DeGeare; one sister, Frieda Rutledge; and one son, Herbert A. Bailey. Aiken, 41, of DeSoto, passed away on September 17, 2007 at his home.  Mr. Aiken was a self-employed construction worker and enjoyed playing music on his guitar. Born September 25, 1965 in St. Louis, he was the son of Ronald O. and Cherlene (nee Hoff) Aiken of Ellington, Florida.  He is also survived by his wife, Stacy L. (nee Lamariano) Aiken of DeSoto; 2 sisters:  Sue J. (Ernie) Hammon, DeSoto; Colleen D. (Brad) Bischoff of Mineral Point; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Geraldine Marie Theurer (nee Altevogt) age 76 of Hillsboro Missouri, passed away on September 23, 2007, in St Louis Missouri. Geraldine was born September 2, 1931 in St Louis Missouri. She was a Missionary and served the countries of Africa and India. She also founded Widow’s Home. Geraldine was a member of Twin Rivers Worship Center and the Red Hatters Club. She is survived by, Daughter-Linda Routszong of St Louis Missouri; Son- Thomas (Carla) Theurer of Hillsboro Missouri; Daughter-Diane (Paul) Winningham of Uniontown Missouri; Daughter-Christine (Michael) Schmitz of St Louis Missouri; Daughter-Judith (Bruce) McCullough of Hillsboro Missouri; Brother- Raymond Altevogt of Takoma Park Maryland. Also survived by 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by,Husband-Herman George Theurer. Father-Fred Altevogt. Mother-Emma Altevogt (nee Ludwig). Visitation will be private. He was a member of Lafayette Church of Christ in Manchester, MO and a Brother of the Eternal Order the Elks Lodge # 2058. Born March 23, 1955 in Kennett, MO to Willa Dean (Smith) Haley and the late Lee Roy Haley. He is survived by his wife, Carla (Naslund) Haley; three daughters: Jamie (Dale) Haley, Tiffany Haley and Elizabeth Barron; three grandchildren; two sisters: Dana (Johnny) Snider and Linda (Jerald) Hyde; one brother, Russell (Sandy) Haley. Born June 29, 1920 in Blytheville, AR to the late James and Brady (Hale) Brasher. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Robert Chandler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by five daughters; C atherine (Michael) Schmitz, Myra (George) Fisher, Charlotte (Martin) Carrera, Mavis (Barry) Shamie, Meshell Chandler; five sons: Joe (Marcia) Chandler, Billy (Coletta) Chandler, Robert (Donna) Chandler, Mark (Kelly) Chandler and Thomas (Jenifer) Chandler; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.Funeral service was Fri, Sept 28, 2007 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Ketchum, 71, of DeSoto died Sep 23, 2007, in DeSoto.  Mrs. Ketchum was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and playing cards.  Born April 27, 1936, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Ann Gordon.  She is survived by her husband, David A. Ketchum of DeSoto; two sons: Allen (Laura) Ketchum, Jr. of De Soto and Sanchez of Utah; one sister, Lucia Bush of DeSoto; five grandchildren:  Cheree, Annie, Paul, Brandon and Jenna; and four great-grandchildren; Ashley, Aaron, Elizabeth and Eric. She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services were held Sep 27 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by family friend Eric Thomas.  Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in DeSoto.

Bone, 74, of DeSoto died Sep 27, 2007, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.   Mrs. Bone was a homemaker and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  She was a member of Eastern Star.  Born Aug 11, 1933 in Columbia, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Hollis and Grave (Lowery) Carlos. She is survived by her husband, James E. Bone of DeSoto; three sons; Michael (Sharon) Bone of DeSoto, Travey (Patricia) Bone of DeSoto and Jeffery (Brenda) Bone of Dewey, Ga., one daughter, Michele (Alfonso) Haberberger of DeSoto; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Carlos; and one sister, Ruth Forke. Funeral services were held Oct 1 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Price, 78, o f DeSoto died Sept 30, 2007, in Crystal City.  Mrs. Price was a homemaker.  Born Feb 26, 1929, in Ware, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Kennedy and Effie (Carrow) Clover.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Price. She is survived by two sons: Robert "Bob" Price and James Price, both of DeSoto; four daughters: Helen (Irvin) Busse of St. Clair, Brenda (Dave) Grawe of Hillsboro, Mary (Jesse) Hoyt of DeSoto and Kathy (C.J.) Bowles of Ste. Genevieve; a brother, Price "Putt" Clover of DeSoto; a sister Betty Kite of DeSoto; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in deathy by a son, Roger Price; four sisters: Beulah "Boots" Hubbard, Maxine Ryan, Mae Martin and Theda Clover, and three brothers: Giles Clover, Billy Clover and Don Clover. Funeral services were to be held Oct 3 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Ron Duncan.  Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Claude W. Gibson, 89, of Dittmer died Sep 27,. 2007, in Crystal City.  mr. Gibson was a general foreman with McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis until his retirement.  Born Feb. 2, 1918, in St . Louis, he was the son of the late Margaret Harrs) Gibson. He is survived by a son, John "Randy" (Jeanne) Gibson of Montgomery City; three daughters: Debra (Buddy) O'Brien of Hillsboro, Patricia Fitzsimmons of Dittmer and Terry (Bob) Hite o f Lake Charles, La; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gibson; and two sons: Gary Gibson and Claude "Jim" Gibson. Graveside services were held Oct 6 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Ware.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.
