Born July 23, 1923, in Herculaneum, MO, to the late Clarence and Bertha (Williams) Wansley. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Byas of DeSoto and Lynette Boone of Chicago, IL; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Boone; brother, Melvin Wansley; three sisters: Bertha Cook, Myrtle Cayce and Thelma Casey; and a grandaughter, Cheryl Lawrence-Walker. Funeral service was Fri, Oct 9, 2008 at Ward Chapel AME Church in Festus. Burial was in J B National Cemetery.

He had worked as an electrician for 24 yrs for Chrysler Corp and he was a U.S. Army veteran. Born Dec 20, 1949, in Malden, MO, to the late Joseph and Mary Lou Ellen (Stubblefield) Butler. He is survived by his wife, Fotina (Makos) Butler; one sister; and three brothers: In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Memorial service was held Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at Mahn Twin City Chapel.

Bone, 55, of DeSoto passed away October 12, 2008 in Crystal City.  Mrs. Bone was a Wal-Mart stocking clerk and enjoyed collecting dolls.  Born May 21, 1953, in DeSoto she was the daughter of the late James E. and Goldie R. (Harp) Thompson.  She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Bone of DeSoto; three sons: Nicholas (Laura) Shepard, David (Wendy) Shepard and Benjamin (Susan) Bone, all of DeSoto; one brother, Darrell (Deena) Thompson of DeSoto; two sisters: Diane (Joey) Oettle of Farmington and LaDonna (Lonnie) Govro of Festus; and four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother, DeWayne Thompson; and one sister, Deborah Young. Funeral services are scheduled for 1p.m. October 16 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Rich Grayson.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to the Children's Miracle Network.  Arrangements were under the direction Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Betty L. Spradling, 77, of DeSoto passed away October 23, 2008 in DeSoto.  Mrs. Spradling was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening.  Born on July 9, 1931 in Ste. Genevieve, she was the daughter of the late William and Mamie (Holst) Youngblood.  She was the loving wife of Norvel L. Spradling. She is survived by their 2 sons: Terry (Kathy) Spradling and John (Carla) Spradling all of DeSoto; a daughter Cathy (Robert) Blake of Bonne Terre; a brother, Norman (Angie) Youngblood of Cape Girardeau and a sister, Myrtle Mahue of Festus; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Youngblood. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 25 from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto with funeral services Monday, October 26 at 10:00a.m. at Mahn Funeral Home DeSoto. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery in DeSoto, officiating services will be Rev. Spradling, 81, of DeSoto passed away on October 23, 2008 in DeSoto.  He was a glass worker for the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Crystal City.  He also enjoyed gardening.  Born on April 21, 1927 in Festus, he was the son of the late William and Ada (Ogment) Spradling.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty L. Spradling. He is survived by 2 sons: John (Carla) Spradling and Terry (Kathy) Spradling all of DeSoto; and a daughter, Cathy (Robert) Blake of Bonne Terre; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Spradling, Sr. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 25, at Mahn Funeral Home from 4p.m. to 8p.m. with a funeral service on Monday, October 26 at 10:00a.m., officiated by Rev. Burns, 81, of Festus passed away October 7, 2008 in St. Louis.  Mr. Burns was a relief man for General Motors.  He was a member of the First Assembly of God in DeSoto, where he also was a member of the Men's Fellowship Club.  Born May 22, 1927 in Crystal City, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Myrtle E. (Henroid) Burns. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Jines) Burns of Festus; one son, David (Debbie) Burns of Orlando, Florida; four daughters Sandy Dyle of Pevely, Diana (Jerry) Manley of Pevely, Kathy (Joe) Liverar of Festus and Robyn (Tom) Mackey of Chesterfield; two sisters: Ruby Niebecker of Cadet and Edith Davis of DeSoto; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by four brothers: Lawrence Burns, Floyd Burns, Tom Burns, and Earl Burns; and two sisters:  Thelma Dorsey and Stella Henson.

Mr. Owens was a self-employed carpenter.  He was a veteran of the U.S. navy and enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing.  Born September 2, 1923, in Potosi, he was the son of the late Harrison and Norah (Myers) Owens.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Romain) Owens. He is survived by one stepson, Gary Gwaltney of DeSoto; three sisters:  Annie Lampman of St. Louis, Lovey Rosenzweig of St. Marys and Marie Reynolds of Potosi; and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one stepson, Darrell Gwaltney; one stepdaughter, Caroline Forister; one brother, Houston Owens; and two sisters: May Weathers and Effie Shipley.
