Betty Marie Boyer, 75, of DeSoto died November 10, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.  Mrs. Boyer was a cook for Hardee's in House Springs.  She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto, the Daughters of Isabella and the Columbia Anns.  Born October 22, 1933 in Tiff, she was the daughter of the late Edward V. and Genevieve (Pashia) Craig.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester L. "Buck" Boyer. She is survived by three sons: Edward (Bevely) Boyer of DeSoto, Jeffery (Peggy) Boyer of Union and Glennon (Debbie) Boyer of DeSoto; three daughters: Mary (David) Boley of Fletcher, Janet (Jim) Juliette of DeSoto and Sarah (Douglas) Little of Festus; two sisters Barbara Boyer and Bertha Hickman, both of Illinois; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Arthur Craig and Martin Craig; two brothers-in-law: Donald Boyer and James Hickman; and a son-in-law, Bob Worden. A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10a.m. until funeral Mass at 11:30a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in DeSoto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson.  Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto.  Arrangements were under the directions of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel.

Rose Ann (Henson) Hamby, 77, of Herculaneum (formerly of DeSoto) passed away Wed, Nov 5, 2008 at her Herculaneum residence. Born Jan 4, 1931, in Bonne Terre, MO, to the late Charles Henson and Merraine (Wright) Henson-Jackson. She had worked as an office manager for Arnold Health Dept and was a member of First Baptist Church of DeSoto. She is survived by three sons; Harold (Tami) Hamby, Jr of Wildwood, Gary (Vickie) Hamby of Festus and Greg (Gera) Hamby of Herculaneum; four brothers; four sisters; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Hamby, Sr and a brother. Funeral service was Sat, Nov 8, 2008 at First Baptist Church of DeSoto. Burial was in Sandy Baptist Cemetery, Hillsboro, MO. Arrangements under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, Festus Chapel.

Thelma H. Beakley Soucy,  84, of DeSoto passed away November 14, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.  Mrs. Soucy was a homemaker.  She also was a published poet and enjoyed singing.  Born September 1, 1924 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Wesley H. and Kathryn R. (Bass) Cox.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Andrew M. Beakley and her second husband Charles Soucy. She is survived by 10 children; 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 2 children and 2 brothers. Visitiation scheduled for 10a.m. until funeral service at 1p.m. Thursday, November 20 at Mahn funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Ron Duncan.  Burial is in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Elvin Joseph, "E.J." Bone, , 86 passed away November 18, 2008, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center.  Born on July 18, 1922 in DeSoto, he was the son of the late Earl and Maude (Beard) Bone.  His wife Ethel Myrtle Glore-Bone preceded him in death in September 2008. He is survived by numerous cousins.  Mr. Bone was a member of the Elks Lodge 689 and Amvets Post 48 of DeSoto, he also belonged to St. Rose of Lima Church.  He had worked as a carpenter & supervisor for the Millstone Brothers Company.  He served in World War II in the US Navy. Visitation scheduled for 10a.m until funeral service at 1p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto with Father Alexander Anderson officiating.  Burial in the Calvary Cemetery, DeSoto.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Brian D. Tucker,, 53, of Festus passed away November 19, 2008 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1955 in St. Louis, he was the son of Joan (Nengal) Bieser of Festus and Durel G. Tucker of California.  He is survived by his loving wife, Kim (Collins) Tucker.  Also surviving are 2 sons:  Brian D. (Stephanie) Tucker of Hillsboro, David G. (Kristy) Tucker of DeSoto; a daughter Shannon (John) Ramey of Crystal City and 1 grandson Brendan Ramey; 3 brothers: Rick (Anita) Bieser of Herculaneum, Randy (Bonnie) Bieser of Festus, and Mike (Julie) Bieser of Springfield, Illinois; 1 sister Cheryl Tucker of St. Louis; his step-father Bill Bieser of Festus and step-mother Carol Tucker of California. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a brother Keith Tucker. Funeral services scheduled for 1:45p.m., November 24, 2008 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, officiated by Ron Williams. Mr. Tucker was a Vietnam veteran of the US Army, he was a member of the VFW Post 3777 and American Legion Post 253 in Festus.

Davis-Kemper, , 54, of Cadet, passed away on November 16, 2008 in Potosi.  Mrs. Davis-Kemper was a cook at the Villas and enjoyed fishing.  Born February 25, 1954, in Palestine, Texas, she was the daughter of Emma Jane (Sammons) Davis of Crystal City and the late Herman G. Davis. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Harold L. Kemper, Jr.; one daughter, Ronika (Bruce) Huskey of Park Hills; one brother, Jerry (Sharon) Davis of DeSoto; one sister, Kay (Randy) Compton of Festus; one sister-in-law, Kathy Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren: Shiley Boren, Emma Boren and Daelen Mobley; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Peck Davis. Visitation is from 10a.m. until the funeral service at 1p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev/. Fallin, 92, of Hillsboro passed away November 23, 2008 in Hillsboro.  Ms Fallin was a housekeeper for St. John's Mercy Medical Center and a member of Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.  She enjoyed sewing and parties.  Born November 4, 1916 in Corning, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late George M. and Clara (Johnson) Fallin. She is survived by one brother, Clarence Fallin of Texas; one sister, Winifred Bell of Robertsville, MO and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Fallin and George Fallin; and one sister, Anna White. Funeral services were held on November 26, 2008 at Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, officiated by the Rev. Tim Thelssen. Burial was in the Corning Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Born Feb 13, 1926, in Grandin, MO, to the late Albert & Lillian Faye (Huling) Richmond. She is survived by 2 sons: Dennis (Linda) Wagner and Mike (Judy) Wagner; three daughters: Wanda (Jerry) Eggemeyer, Debbie (Tom) Edwards and Karen (Joe) Brown; 4 brothers; one sister; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Wagner and a brother. Mass was Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro. "Bud" Blum, 76, of DeSoto passed away November 24, 2008 at his residence.  Mr. Blum was an electrician for Vulcan Corporation and a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a member of the Georgia Sheriff's Association and enjoyed golf, woodworking and crossword puzzles.  Born February 8, 1932, in DeSoto, he was the son of the late Charles E and Lottie M. (Politte) Blum. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Rundel) Blum of DeSoto; three sons: Dwayne J. (Carol)  Blum, Cary D. (Teresa) Blum and Russell J. Blum of DeSoto; one daughter Margaret (Doug) Wulf of Dalton, Georgia; three brothers: Bill (Frances) Blum of DeSoto, Gene (Linda) Blum of St. Peters and Dale (Nancy) Blum of Crystal City; two sisters: Lila Medley of DeSoto and Mary Blum; five grandchildren: Chris, Sean, Cyndi, John and Shannon; and three great-grandchildren: Ava Jane, C.J. and Guiedon.  He was preceded in death by two sons: Charles W. BLum and David A. Blum; and one brother-in-law, Dale Medley. Funeral services were held December 1, 2008 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Paul E. Whitehead, 76, of Cadet passed away November 26, 2008 in Cadet.  Mr. Whitehead was a sheet metal worker for St. Louis Flour Mill.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the DeSoto VFW Post 1831.  He enjoyed working with cars and trucks.  Born May 19, 1932 in DeSoto, he was the son of the late Louis and Hester (Vance) Whitehead. He is survived by two sons: Rick (Cheryl) Whitehead of DeSoto and Kevin (Sophie) Whitehead of Cadet; two daughters: Elaina (James) Hicks of Cadet and Tina (Tim) Kiefer of DeSoto; three sisters: Bernice Reynolds of Festus, Dorothy Whitehead of DeSoto; and Betty Whitehead of DeSoto; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by two sons: Tony Whitehead and Paul Whitehead Jr.; two daughters: Regina Sikes and Cheryl Ann Whitehead; and two brothers; Charles Whitehead and Louis Whitehead.Funeral services were held December 2 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.  Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.
