Margaret White, 79, Margaret (Bednarek) White, 79, of DeSoto died April 4, 2008, in DeSoto.  Mrs. White was a homemaker.  Born May 14, 1928, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Keir) Bednarek. She is survived by her husband, Arvil Odell White of DeSoto; one son, Kenneth (Carol) White of Fenton; one daughter, Judy (Michael) Hauser of DeSoto; four sisters: Dorothy (Floyd) Pratt of St. Clair, Christine Mueller of DeSoto, Delor is (Roger) Boehner of St. Louis and JoAnn Bednarek of DeSoto; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Bednarek; and one brother-in-law, Harold Mueller. Funeral services were held April 8 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Jeremy Muniz.  Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in DeSoto. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City where she had taught Sunday School, she liked gardening, and volunteered as  Pink Lady at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Born May 27, 1931, in Greenway, AR, to the late Leo and Ova (Wilkes) Baty. She is survived by her husband, Carl B. Rogers, three sons: Carl (Judith) Rogers, Kerry ( Diane) Rogers and Dennis (Betty) Rogers; three daughters: Shirley ( Vincent) Wilson, Janet ( Anthony) Emily and Marilyn (Rob) Frazier; one brother, Fred Baty, one sister, Joann Dowd; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.  Morris F. "Eddie" Johnston, 81, of Festus passed away April 30, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. He was a retired machinist at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co in Crystal City. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal and a WW II US Navy veteran. Born August 12, 1926, in Pevely, MO, to the late Morris C. and Ellen (Juede) Johnston. He is survived by a son, David R. (Cecile) Johnston of Nararre, FL and a daughter, Linda (Arlie) King of Byrnes Mill, MO; 4 grandchildren: Lisa Overberg, Davie Johnston, Matthew (Carol) Johnston and Daniel Johnston. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Cross) Johnston; 3 brothers: Ralph, James & Eugene Johnston. Service was Monday, May 5, 2008 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. Elsie Beckerm, 68, Hillsboro, passed away April 29, 2008 in Hillsboro.  Mrs. Becker was a custodian with Wal-Mart and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and working at her church, Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.  Born May 16, 1939, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rosella Myers.  She was preceded in death by two husbands: William Louis Moody Sr., and Albert F. Becker. She is survived by two sons: Bob (Mary) Lindsey of DeSoto and Michael (Tina) Moody of Waynesville, N.C.;  three daughters: Roberta Schilly of Canton, N.C., Gloria (David) Courtney of DeSoto and Debra (Jerry) Fawcett of Las Vegas, Nevada; four brothers: James "Herbie" Day of St. Louis, David (Shelley) Day of St. Louis, Cecil Day of California and Ronnie (Joyce) Day of St. Louis; one sister, Joan Day of California; 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Donald Day, Johnny Day, Richard Myers, and Kenneth Reed; and two sisters:  Donna Barton and Donna Day.
