Sanford Gene "Art" Hardin, Sr, 76, of Crystal City passed away Thurs, May 1, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. He had worked as an installer for AT&T and had served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an active member in the American Legion Post 849, VFW Post 3777, Elks Lodge 1721, Eagles & Moose Lodge. Born Feb 4, 1932, in Livermore, KY, to the late Forest & Annie (Bishop) Hardin. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (DeRousse) Hardin, son, Sanford (Nancy) Hardin, Jr of Barnhart; three daughters: Marsha Hardin of DeSoto, Sheila ( Dan) Bouck of Iowa and Melissa (Vance) Hardin of Crystal City; brother, Tom (Pat) Hardin of Fenton; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Service was Tues, May 6, 2008 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Crystal City.

Marilyn Elizabeth Colburn, 67, Bloomsdale, passed away May 10, 2008 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis County.  Mrs. Colburn was a corporate trainer for Bob Evans and a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus.  She enjoyed traveling, collecting and watching movies and knitting.  Born Aug 28,1940, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marian (Matthews) Sauer.  She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Jegel. She is survived b her husband, Bill Colburn of Bloomsdale; three daughters: Jennifer( (Dane) Briggs of Oklahoma, Julia (James) Thompson of St. Charles and Diane Jegel of St. Louis; three sons: Anthony (Joni) Jegel of Fenton, Christopher (Micki) Jegel of St. Louis and Mark (Tammy) Jegel of Biloxi, Mississippi; one stepson, Mark Colburn; three step-daughters: Jerri (Terry) Bequette, Missy (Tom) Gray and Vicki (Paul) Bouscher; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were to be held May 14 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Jim Owens.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery in Bloomsdale.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.

David Boyd, 71, of DeSoto passed away at his residence on May 20, 2008.  Mr. Boyd worked at Boyd Contracting as a hoisting engineer.  He was a member of N.R.A., played the saxophone.  He enjoyed watching turkey and deer feed and the he loved the outdoors. Born September 17, 1936 in Kirkwood, Missouri; he was the son of the late Guy Bert and Lenna Alice (Girardier) Boyd.  He was married to Shirley J. (Bell) for 52 years.  He is survived by 4 sons:  R. David (Carrie) Boyd II of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Guy R. (Cynthia) Boyd, of St. Jacob, Illinois, Daniel Q. (Rebecca) Boyd of Crystal City, and Allyssa L.B. Boyd of DeSoto;  2 daughters:  Laura (Jerry) Doster of Leadwood and L. Jayne (Jeffery) Holt of St. Louis; 19 grandchildren.  Also surviving 3 sisters:  Shearl Boyd of Maplewood, Faith Whitaker, of Ellisville, and Lenna (Arthur) Buscher of Crystal City;  2 sisters-in-law:  Evelyn Boyd of Texas and Eli zabeth Boyd of Wilwood, Missouri;  one brother-in-law: William Losch of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers: Roy, Guy, Dee and Glenn Boyd and 2 sisters:  Kanoie Etheridge and Neoma Losch. BETTY J. (Middleton) CARNEY, 82, Festus passed away May 23, 2008, at Festus Manor Nursing Cemeter. Mrs. Carney was a retired civil service employee who routed military transports through Lambert Airport in St. Louis.  Born March 26, 1926, in E. St. Louis, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Mabel Frances (Frailey) Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall E. Carney.  She is survived by one son, Barry (Marta) Sizemore of Festus; two grandchildren: Dan (Gina) McQuerrey of Wentzville and Toby (Yvonne) McQuerrey of Imperial; and seven great -grandchildren: Alyssa, Bryce, Macie, Zachary, Brandon, Evan and Katelyn. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald W. Sizemore. Funeral services were private.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.

Thomas Wayne Noblin, 42, of Potosi (formerly of DeSoto) passed away Wed, May 28, 2008 at Des Peres Hospital in St Louis, He had been a truck driver for Prime Trucking Industry in St Louis before an accident left him disabled. Born Oct 14, 1965, in St Louis County, to Fay (Moon) Halbrook of DeSoto and the late Thomas L. Halbrook. He was a US Army veteran and he loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by stepchildren; Misty (Brian) Mealing of Georgia and Ryan Ree ce of Pevely; 3 step grandchildren; sister, Regina Sides of Festus; brothers: William Noblin of Arnold and Timothy (Laura) Noblin of Rolla; stepfather, Ron Halbrook of DeSoto; stepsister, Stacey Halbrook of Belleville, IL and stepbrother, Ryan Halbrook of Arlington, VA. Funeral service was Thurs, May 29, 2008 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

JEANETTE T.  "NET" MURPHY,  67, of DeSoto passed away May 5, 2008 in DeSoto.  Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker.  Born December 11, 1940 in Paragould, Arkansas; she was the daughter of the late Randy and Ira (Fisher) Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Murphy. She is survived by four sons:  Terry (Michelle) Richey of Festus, Greg (Dagmar) Richey of DeSoto,  Keith Richey of Imperial and Randy (Diane) Richey of Roxanna, Illinois;  two daughters: Janet (Dennis) Hooker of Dudley, Mo., and Judy (Lynn) Sharp of Jonesboro, Arkansas;  13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. JANIS, 54, of DeSoto, passed away on May 14, 2008 in DeSoto.  Mr. Janis enjoyed music, animals and the outdoors.  Born September 8, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Eugene and Irene (Clark) Janis. He is survived by three brothers:  Rich (Tina) Clark of Imperial, Ron Clark of St. Louis and Ken (Karen) Clark of DeSoto;  two sisters:  Carol (Bill) Ryder of DeSoto and Thesa Hubbard of Festus; and friends Tom Barnett and family of DeSoto, Milton Barnett and family of DeSoto and Connie Bishop of DeSoto, who he called "Princess". HAVERSTICK-NORMAN, 25, of DeSoto passed away on May 14, 2008 in St. Louis.  Mrs. Norman was a medical assistant for Dr. Crawford and enjoyed motorcycles and the outdoors.  She was a catcher in softball for little leaque and high school.  Born May 10, 1983, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Diana (Crocker) and David Haverstick Sr.  of DeSoto. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Daren Norman of DeSoto; one daughter, Destini Lynn Norman of DeSoto; one brother, David Haverstick Jr., of DeSoto; her parents-in-law, Marilyn Norman of DeSoto and Rick Norman of Festus;  her grandparents, Duke and JoAnn Crocker of Arcadia, Mo.; and her grandparents-in-law, George and Mary Norman of DeSoto.  She was preceded in death by two grandparents: Robert and Jewell Haverstick. LINDA LOU (Christopher) HUNT, 65, of DeSoto, passed away on May 24, 2008.  Mrs. Hunt was a homemaker and a member of American Legion Post 253 Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed camping and traveling, and loved her two dogs, Molly and Lizzie.  Born May 16, 1943, in DeSoto; she was the daughter of the late Vivian J. and Mamie Marie (Pratt) Christopher. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Joseph Hunt; three sons: LeRoy (Diane) Hunt of New Bloomfield, Keith Hunt of DeSoto and Brian Hunt of Dauphin island, Florida: two brothers: Ronald (Michelle) Christopher of Festus and David Lee (Barbara "Bobbi") Christopher of Blackwell; eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Frier. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. May 29 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto , officiated b he Rev. De PRIEST, 84, of DeSoto passed away May 29, 2008 in St. Louis. Mrs. De Priest was a houswife.  Born Jan 12, 1924, in Hayti, she was the daughter of the late Estell and Elsie (Adams) Naile.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. De Priest.  She is survived by three daughters: Pamala (John) Riney of DeSoto, Jackie (Hank) Duncan of Fenton and Karylon (Vernon) Cullun of DeSoto; one brother, Charles (Barbara) Drake of Little Rock, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by one sister, Billie Jean Brueggen.  Funeral services were held June 2 at First Assembly of God in DeSoto, officiated by Pastor Ron Duncan.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.

MARGARET ROSE 'Margie' MILLER, 87, of Farmington, formerly of DeSoto, died May 29, 2008 in Farmington.  Miss Miller was a saleswoman for Boyds.  Born March 25, 1921, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the George Washington and Harriet Augusta (Mull) Miller. She is survived by two great nieces: Patricia Atley of Middlebrook, and Linda (Larry) Neu of St. Louis, and one great nephew, James (Kathleen) Talkington of Pacific. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Cora Lee, Harriet Augusta and Clara: and three brothers: Frank Fitzpatrick, Frederick Sibley and George Washington Miller. ETHEL L. PEARSON, 105, of DeSoto passed away May 31, 2008 in DeSoto.  Mrs. Pearson was formerly a nurse at St. Agnes Nursing Home in St. Louis and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in DeSoto. Born November 23, 1902, in Hollowspring, Mississippi.  She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Spaink) Lewis.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Pearson. She is survived by one son, Harold (Angie) Pearson of Sacramento, California, a special friend Marcella Weaver of DeSoto and three grandchildren. Funeral services were set for June 4, at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. James Owens.  Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 6 years, Michael Christopher, a daughter Ireland Grace Christopher both of Bonne Terre; a brother, Scott S. (Misty) Wilson of Kansas City; four grandparents: Wanda Wilson, Charlie Watkins, Eugene and iris Brock all of DeSoto; a nephew, Nate Christopher, a niece, Maddie Christopher, a brother-in-law Ron "Blue" (Annie) Christopher al l of DeSoto, a father-in-law, Ron (Michelle) Christopher of Festus and a mother-in-law, Debbie White of DeSoto.  Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Jack C. Wilson and a niece Avary Wilson. A memorial mass was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto on June 9, 2008 at 10:00a.m. with Father Ron Hopmeir and Deacon Ed Boyer officiating.  Memorials can be made to the Ireland Christopher Fund at Eagle Bank & amp; Trust in DeSoto.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel.
