John A. Borowski, 85, of Imperial passed away June 2, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Mr. Borowski was a draftsman for Measuregraph in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Otto and enjoyed bowling and pinochle. Born July 8, 1923, in Harvey, Illinois, he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Czarnecki) Borowski. He is survived by a daughter, Patty (Rick) Heitman of Festus; a brother, Ed Borowski of Arizona; three grandchildren: Eric (Jessica) Forst Sr., Kyle Heitman and Patrick Heitman; and two great grandchildren: Eric Frost Jr., and Joseph Forst. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Borowski. Funeral services were held June 8 at Mahn Twin City Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Marty Springer. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, 63018. Adelaide E. Cook, 94 of DeSoto entered
into rest on June 4, 2009 in DeSoto. Mrs. Cooks was born June 26, 1914 in
St. Louis; she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Gruss) Farney.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, John D. Cook. Mrs. Cook was a
homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed
reading. Mrs. Cook is survived by two dear sons David A. (Vicki) Cook of
Imperial and Michael (Janet) Cook of Lake St. Louis; one dear daughter, Susan
(Richard) Niebling of Encinitas, California; six grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 8 at Mahn Funeral Home,
officiated by Father Alex Anderson. Burial was in Memorial park Cemetery
in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or
the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn

Minnie E. Lamkin-Black, 69 of DeSoto entered into rest on June 9, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City. She was born April 20, 1940 in Cherryville, Missouri; she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Florence (Rawlins) Kreamalmeyer. Mrs. Black was a nurse's aide and enjoyed her being with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, William Black of DeSoto; three dear sons: Carl Wayne (Donna) Crouch of DeSoto, Joe (Rhonda) Orsega of Festus and Danny E. Lamkin, Jr. of DeSoto; three dear brothers: William (Yvonne) Kreamalmeyer of Michigan, Clarence (Bernice) Kreamalmeyer of Herculaneum and Albert (Nellie) Kreamalmeyer of Mobile, Alabama; three dear sisters: Jessie Luntzer of Festus, Garneth (Bill) Turnbough of Herculaneum and Mary (Bill) Parker of Kansas City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Orville Kreamalmeyer and three sisters Viola Fleutchu, Dora Carson and Mayme Huffman. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Derry Bowling. Burial was in the Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville. Jimmie Leroy Wilkerson,
74, entered into rest June 8, 2009 at his Festus residence. He was born Jan 13,
1935 in Patterson, MO. He is survived by his wife, Ethel "Christine" (Johnson)
Wilkerson; sons: Paul (Stella) Howell and Walter "Keith" (Nataie) Howell;
daughter, Tina (Ed)Womack; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral
service was Fri, June 12, 2009 at Mahn Twin City Chapel. Interment was JB

William "Clay" Wideman, 88 of Festus entered
into rest June 9, 2009 in St Louis. Born March 9, 1921 in Coldwater, KS. He had
owned Wideman Pools in Festus. He was a US Marine veteran who had served in WW
II and was a member of VFW Post 3777 and China Marines Association. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Rodden) Wideman. He is survived by sons:
Wayne (Alice) Wideman and Dennis (Bernadette) Wideman; daughter, Barbara
(Charles) Schroeder; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral service

Lawrence Joseph Fowzer, 66, entered into rest
June 8, 2009 at his DeSoto residence. He was a retired driver for Yellow Freight
Transportation and a US Army veteran. He was born Sept 21, 1942 in California.
He is survived by his daughter. Denise Dill of St Charles; one grandchild; and 3

Frank J. Taschler, 84, entered into rest at
his Festus residence. He was born Aug 26, 1924 in St Louis, MO.He is survived by
his wife of 61 years, Virginia (Beck) Taschler. He is survived by two sisters:

Randy Clyde Carter, 58, of Fenton entered
into rest June 4, 2009 at St Anthony's Medical Ctr in St Louis. He was born Feb
25, 1951 in Potosi, MO. He was retired from Rockwood School District where he
worked as custodian and he was a US Marine veteran who had served in Vietnam. He
is survived by sons: Randy (Kim) Carter II, Jerry (Michelle) Carter, Kevon Foy,
John Laughney; 12 grandchildren; brother, Roger (Sue) Carter; sister, Debbie
Ruby; and loving companion, Kathy Laughney. Memorial service was Tues, June 16,

LeRoy Kite,
77 of DeSoto entered into rest on June 14, 2009 in St. Louis County.
He was born November 11, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; he was the son of the
late Louis Vincent and Jenny (Breeves) Kite. Mr. Kite was a refinery
worker for Doe Run Lead Smelter. He was also an amateur ham radio
operator. He is survived by his loving wife, Francine "Sue" (Phelps) Kite of
DeSoto; four dear sons Robert Kite of Hematite, Aaron (Cindy) Kite of DeSoto,
Andrew Kite of DeSoto and Roger Kite of French Village; two dear brothers Louis
Eugene (Cindy) Kite of Troy, Illinois and Homer Kite of California; one dear
sister Barbara (Pete) Hope of Granite City, Illinois and five grandchildren:
Courtney, Alisha, Shelby, Megan and Brandon; all of DeSoto. Funeral
services were scheduled for 10a.m. on June 18, at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto,
officiated by Chaplain Dennis Heck. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery
in DeSoto. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in

Mathew D. Whitter,
18, of DeSoto passed away on June 15, 2009 in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Whitter was a
forklift operator for a food distribution company. He was a 2009 graduate of
DeSoto High School and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. Born August
17, 1990 in Crystal City; he was the son of Ruth Anne (Browne) Whitter of DeSoto
and the late Larry Paul Whitter. In addition to his mother, he is survived by
two brothers: Larry Paul (Cindy) Whitter, Jr. of Fredericktown and Kevin Whitter
of DeSoto; two grandparents: Paul and Jean Whitter of DeSoto; one nephew,
Spencer Whitter of Fredericktown; and one niece, Desiree Phillips of
Fredericktown. He was preceded in death by two grandparents: Robert and
Barbara Browne. Funeral services were held June 19 at Mahn Funeral Home,
officiated by the Rev. David Evans. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in

Michael R. "Mike" Murray,
62 of Hillsboro passed away June 17, 2009 in Hillsboro. Mr. Murray was a GSO
for Chrysler Corporation and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Victory
Church in Pevely. Born April 12, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of
Delmar R. and Helen (Cummings) Murray of Jackson. In addition to his parents, he
is survived by his wife, Sherry (Young) Murray of Hillsboro; two sons: Joseh
(Shannon) Murray of Hillsboro and Matt (Kathy) Murray of Hillsboro; two
daughters, Angie (David) Taylor of Hillsboro and Teresa Hasty of Hillsboro; aunt
and uncle, Jane and Dean Hoffmiester of Lake of the Ozarks; and seven
grandchildren: Dylan Hasty, Rachel Hasty, Justin Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Jackson
Taylor, Madelyn Murray and Cooper Murray. Funeral services were held June 20 at

Allen "Ray" Lewis,
60 of DeSoto passed June 19, 2009 in Crystal City. Mr. Lewis was a laborer for
Goodwin Brothers Construction. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army and a
member of Elks Lodge 689, VFW Post 1831 and Amvets Post 48, all in DeSoto. Born
March 8, 1949 in Cadet; he was the son of the late Leo and Frieda (Politte)
Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Dunigan) Lewis of DeSoto; four sons:
Donald Storie of DeSoto, Robert (Jennifer) Storie of DeSoto, Clovis (Mary)
Storie of DeSoto and Michael (Amy) Lewis of House Springs; two daughters:
Melissa (Daron) Hutchison of DeSoto and Jennifer (Tu) Nguyen of St. Louis;
three brothers: Robert Lewis of Blackwell, Frank (Linda) Lewis of Festus and Tom
(Linda) Lewis of Cadet; three sisters: Helen (Harry) Allen of St. Louis, Darlene
(John) Siebel of Potosi and Vickie (Dale) Jarvis of Mineral Point; and 12
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard "Buddy" Lewis;
and two sisters: Mary Lou Nichols and Nancy Lewis. Funeral services were held

Rudolph "Junior" Whitner, Jr,
76, of Festus
entered into rest June 22, 2009 at Belleville Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
He was born April 2, 1933, in Festus, to the late Rudolph & Juanita (Ross)
Whitner, Sr. He had worked as a janitor at Mountain View Nursing Home, Festus.
He is survived by cousin, Joann Coffee of Festus; brother, Paul Kertz of Festus;
and friend, Dennis Gleason. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death
by brother, Charles Bisch; sisters: Edith Whitner, Mary Penn and Norma Culton.
Service was Wed, June 24, 2009 at Our Lady Catholic Church. Interment was Sacred
