Kenny Hulvey,
76, of Festus passed away October 1, 2009 at
Fountainbleau Nursing Center. Mr. Hulvey was an excavator with Hulvey
Excavating and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of
the U.S. Army and a member of Kruisers Carl Club, Classie Chassis Car
Club and Plattin Rock Boat Club. Born June 17, 1933 in Crystal City, he
was the son of the late David W. and Myrtle H. (Day) Hulvey.
He is survived by his wife of 50
years, Minnie Inez (Gardner) Hulvey of Festus; one son, Charlie Hulvey
of Festus; one sister, Colleen Yarbrough of DeSoto; one great-nephew,
Nick Largent of Festus; two great-nieces; one grandchild and two
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Art
Hulvey, Donald Hulvey and William Hulvey; and two sisters: Lil Hulvey
and Mammie Tidd. Funeral services were held October 6 at Mahn Funeral
Home, officiated by the Rev. Rich Grayson. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge
Cemetery in DeSoto. Memorials may be to the American Cancer Society,
4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, 63108. Arrangements were under the
direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Thelma Ann (Whitmire) Johnston of Festus. He is survived by sons: James

Park Hills, MO, Eric (Michelle) Largent of DeSoto, MO, Mario Largent of
DeSoto, MO and Nick Largent of DeSoto, MO; daughters: Crystal (Kery)
Ward of Festus, MO and Ashley (Braden) Ward of St Louis, MO;
grandaughter, Kayleigh Bullard; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Funeral
service was Wed Oct 7, 2009 at Mahn Twin City Chapel, Festus.

Floyd E. Montgomery,
82, of DeSoto passed away October 5, 2009, at Jefferson Regional Medical
Center in Crystal City. Mr. Montgomery was a real estate salesman. He
was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of DeSoto Elks
Lodge 689. Born June 2, 1927, in Belleview, he was the son of the late
Lloyd and Laura (Lahay) Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Ruth
(Mason) Montgomery of DeSoto; one daughter, Linda Cook of Lonedell; two
sons; Danny (Sharon) Mongtomery of Leslie, and Kenneth (Sandy)
Montgomery of St. Clair; two brothers: Eddie (Linda) Montgomery of St.
Charles and Lynn Montgomery of Byrnes Mill; three sisters: Norma Walker
of Bridgeton, Frieda (Vernon) Shackleford of House Springs and Joyce
Reiner of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one
sister, Reva Jones. Funeral services were held October 9, 2009 at Mahn
Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Roger Koster. Burial was in
Peaceful Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Research
Hospital for Children. Arrangements were by Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Laura F. Sterling,
97, formerly of Lonedell, passed away
October 5, 2009 at the Baptist Home in Ironton. Mrs. Sterling was a
homemaker. She was a member of the Women's Progressive Club in Londell
and Oak Grove Baptist Church. Born October 17, 1911 in Nebraska, she
was the daughter of the late George W. and Nora E. (Weaver) Adams. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Sterling. She is survived
by three daughters: Lanora (Marvin) Briggs of Sullivan, Norma (Jack)
Hagler of Park Hills and Laura "Ellen" James of St. Clair; one son,
Gilbert "Edgar" Sterling of Steedman; and numberous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services and burial
were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral
Home in DeSoto.

Earnest Leibel,
96, of DeSoto passed away October 10, 2009
at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Mr. Leible was
foreman for Central States Paper and Bag Company and worked in security
for Mercantile Bank. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic
Church in DeSoto. Born July 27, 1913 in Charleston, he was the son of
the late Henry and Florence (Elder) Leible. He is survived by his wife
of 71 years, Aloise (Nussbaumer) Leible of DeSoto; one daughter, Carol
A. (John P) Cotner of DeSoto; three grandchildren: Ruth Ann, John Matt
and Diana; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one grand-daughter, Becki J.; six brothers
and three sisters. Funeral services were held October 13 at St. Rose of
Lima Catholic Chuirch, officiated by Father Alex Anderson. Burial was in
Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto. Arrangements were under the direction of
Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Lena Adele (Kuehn)
Becquette, 50, of Festus entered into rest Oct
11, 2009 at Festus Manor Nursing Ctr. In prior years she had been a CMT
at Festus Manor before becoming disabled. Born Feb 14, 1959, in St
Louis, MO, to Martha (Sparks) Kuehn of Crystal City, MO and Robert Kuehn
of St Louis, MO. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis
Becquette. In addition to her parents she is survived by a brother, John
Kuehn and sister, Kathleen Kuehn. Memorial service was Fri, Oct 16, 2009
at Mahn Twin City Chapel, Festus. Burial was at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery.

Deborah Ann Street,
Fenton, passed away on October 17, 2009 at the age of 47 years, 5 months
and 21 days. Born in Missouri on April 26, 1962; she was the daughter
of the late Gary and Loretta (Feagin) Gamlin. Deborah was disabled.
She enjoyed bowling and loved the outdoors. Ms. Street is survived by
two sons: Drey Thompson, Fenton and Cory Anthony Street; and a daughter,
Jennifer Street, St. Louis; and one sister, Terri Knight, Hillsboro;
three grandchildren: Sierra Shields, Domenic Street and Isiah Jefferson.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home,
DeSoto Chapel.

Club. He is survived by a son, Kenneth "KC" (Melissa) Carter; and
daughters: Danielle (Jeremy) Johnson and Allison Dodson; and 2

Margaret L. (Logan)
Todd, 83, of Festus passed away October 31, 2009 at Jefferson
Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Mrs. Todd worked as a nurse at
Jefferson Memorial Hosptial and Rose Hill Nursing Home. Born January
16, 1926 in Blytheville, Arkansas; she was the daughter of the late Alex
and Elizabeth (Henson) Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Percy G. Todd. She is survived by two sons: Charles E. (Debra) Todd of
Festus and Percy John Todd of Festus; one stepson, David Todd of Arnold;
former daughter-in-law, Mary Todd of Crystal City; one brother, Clay
Logan of Leasburg; one sister, Sally Shepard of Crystal City; two
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
one stepson, Frank Todd; two brothers: Bud Logan and Dee Logan; four
sisters: Margie Logan, Victoria Mask, Bernice Allred and Stella
Hutchinson; and one granddaughter, Sabrina Todd. Funeral services were
to be held November 4 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by
Ron Casey. Burial was in Festus Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be
