Jan Rae Bollenberg, age 52 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri. She was born April 7, 1958 in Crystal City, Missouri the daughter of Charles Michael “Mike” (Pat) Hewitt of Rolla, Missouri and May (nee Davis) Bowman of Festus.  In addition to her parents she is survived by a daughter, Crystal (Jonathan) Partney of Festus, her fiancé Tim Swalbert of Festus, sister Kim (Pat) Kalter of Festus, step-brothers Scott (Wendy) Bowman of Houston, Texas and Kevin (Sherrie) Bowman of Washington, Missouri and two granddaughters, Bailee and Becca Partney. She was a member of Ketha Heights Baptist Church, a retired autoworker from Chrysler Corporation and a licensed esthetician at Great Day Massage. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Friday, December 3, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. then Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Ketha Heights Baptist Church, Festus from 10:00 A.M. with funeral at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Pastor Randy Casey.  Interment Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crystal City.  Memorials preferred to Ketha Heights Baptist Church.

Howard T. Curtis, 75, entered into rest Dec 1, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He had been a resident of St Joe Manor for 2 years. He was a retired inspector for McDonnell-Douglas Corp and a US Army veteran. Born March 31, 1935, in St Louis, to the late Daniel and Maude (Pohlig) Curtis. Survived by sons: Tim Curtis and Bill (Jean) Curtis; brother, Larry (Mary) Curtis; and 7 grandchildren. Private service was held with cremains being interred at Ruble Cemetery, Vulcan, MO. Arrangements by Mahn Twin City Chapel, Festus.

Donald Albert Meyer, age 80 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at his residence.  He was born September 14, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Josephine (nee Knab) and George A. Meyer.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jean (nee Spies) Meyer, 10/17/1996, brothers George A. Meyer and Charles R. Meyer, sisters Marcheta Droste and June Divine. He is survived by daughters Christine M. ”Tina” (Rodney) Maris of Katy, Texas and Constance M. “Connie” (the late Joseph) Eubanks of Pevely, Missouri, sons Donald R. (Tracey) Meyer of St. Louis, Missouri, George A. Meyer of St. Louis, Anthony R. (Toni) Meyer of Festus and Shawn M. Meyer of Festus.  He is also survived by grandchildren Krissy (John) Garcia, Kelly (Joe) Gonzales, Ashley Brissette, Corey Meyer, Candice Eubanks, Coty Eubanks, Miranda Meyer, Lori Gamblin and Andrew Gamblin, great-grandchildren Hannah Garcia, Keaton and Gavin Gonzales and a brother Glenon J. Meyer. He was a retired Bindery Foreman for the Bindry Foundation, United States Army Veteran and National Guard member.  He was a member of American Legion Post #253. Cleo G. Rheinecker, 88, of DeSoto, (formerly of Percy, Illinois) entered into rest at The Villas on December 1, 2010. Born November 5, 1922 in Sato, IL; she was the daughter of the late John A. and Anna (nee Stein) Rosenberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rheinecker. Mrs. Rheinecker was the mother of Dr. Mary (Nick) Holyoke-Blackford of DeSoto; grandchildren Dr. Laura Holyoke and Paula Boynton; great-grandchildren, Romni Boynton and Caleb Heywood. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, six sisters and a great grandson, Tanner Boynton. Mrs. Rheinecker was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Quilting and Luthern Church Quilting Clubs. Father Leo Hayes will be officiating the mass at St. Joseph's Church.

Michael Sidney Reed, age 42 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at his residence.  He was born November 15, 1968 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of Jack Reed of Hillsboro, Missouri and Jean (nee Cooper) Reed of Festus. He is survived by sisters Tane Baker of Perryville, Missouri and Christina Milfelt of Festus, a brother Mark (Sandy) Reed of Arnold, Missouri, nephews Brent Ellis, Stuart (Amanda) Ellis, Christopher Reed, Shawn Loveless and Ryan Milfelt, nieces Ashley Milfelt and Ashlee Loveless.  In addition he is survived by great-nephews Brandon and Anthony Ellis and a great-niece Haylee Ellis. Raymond Vincent Boyer, age 92 of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born October 25, 1918 in Old Mines, Missouri the son of the late Helena (nee Boyer) and Frank Boyer.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Marie (nee Mallow) Boyer, March 27, 2010, brothers Willie and Cecil Boyer and a sister Edith (the late Monroe) Rolph. He is survived by a daughter Darla Boyer of Festus, sisters Shirley (Harold) Dittmaier of O’Fallon, Missouri, Alberta (the late Harry) Meyers of Festus and a brother Tom (Barb) Boyer of Festus. He was a retired Glassworker from Pittsburg Plate Glass Company and a member of Church of the Assumption in Herculaneum, Missouri. Memorial Gathering at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 Church of the Assumption, Herculaneum followed by Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Fr. Robert V. Fleiter and Fr. James C. Bain, 81, of Bonne Terre, MO, entered into rest on December 3, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Born November 18, 1929 in Madison County, Illinois; he was the son of the late John T. and Agna L. (nee Mason) Bain. Mr. Bain was a stationary engineer for Kirkwood Community College. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was the father of Mark Bain of Alabama, David Bain of Nevada, James R. (Marca) Bain of St. Louis, MO and Joseph Bain of O'Fallon, MO; and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Scott Bain and Steve Bain; two brothers, Harlan Bain and Lawrence Bain; and two sisters, Carolyn Porter and Charlotte Henderson. Sims.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Cathleen Ann Sims, brothers Elzey “Burr” Sims, Chesley Sims, Alvin Sims, Elmer Sims, George Sims and Harry Sims, sisters Lottie O’Neil, Irene Anthony and Florence L. Johnston. Galczynski, Jr., age 35, of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born October 28, 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Cathy (nee Culp) Castile of Herculaneum and Phillip A. Galczynski, Sr. of Hillsboro, Missouri.  Also surviving are a son Tyler Galczynski and daughter Lydia Harris both of Fenton, Missouri, brothers Joe Galczynski and Nick Castile both of Herculaneum and a grandfather Richard Eldridge of Festus, Missouri and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.  He was preceded in death by grandparents Glenwood Culp and Ruth E. Courtois, 33, of DeSoto passed away on December 7, 2010 in DeSoto; born in Columbia, Missouri on December 10, 1976; he leaves behind father; Paul Courtois of DeSoto and mother; Diane (nee Byers)(Mike) DeRousse of Cadet, MO. Shawn was a bricklayer for RFW Contracting; he enjoyed working with his hands and playing the guitar. He is survived by his parents and step-parents; two sons: Logen Courtois and Travis Niswonger both of DeSoto; special friend, Dustin Hercher of DeSoto; step-mother, Gina Brown of Cadet; grandmother, Theresa Courtois of DeSoto; two brothers: Beau (Jamie) Davis of Festus and Dylan Courtois of Cedar Hill; a sister, Heather (Torrey) DeClue of Valles Mines; a step-brother, Michael DeRousse, Jr. and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pauline Marie “Polly” (nee Crocker) Chism, age 88 of California, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away December 16, 2010 in California.  Mrs. Chism was a retired teacher with the Athena and Festus elementary schools and a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City.  An avid gardener, she was a member of the Ida Ruffer Garden Club, the Hoe and Hope Garden Club and the Mineral Area Iris Society.  She was a longtime member of the board of trustees of Jefferson College and of Jeffco Subcontracting, Inc.  She was born June 26, 1922 in the Lead Belt area of southeast Missouri, the daughter of the late Mae (nee Wadlow) and Charles Crocker.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Lee Chism, son Jim Chism, grandson Nicholas Lindquist, brothers Ralph and Charles Crocker and a sister-in-law, Norma Crocker. She is survived by her daughter, Lana L. Stanzione and husband Frederick J. of Santa Clarita, California, sister Mary Roussin of Kansas City, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Gathering at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus after 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 16, 2011 with  Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Rev. (nee McGrane) Thurman, age 101 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born February 21, 1909 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Mary (nee Shad) and John Joseph McGrane.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Neal James “Jack” Thurman, the late brothers Francis “Pete” (Eloise survives) McGrane, Bill (the late Norma) McGrane and John “Bud” (the late Delores) McGrane, the late sisters Dixie (Tommy survives) Russo, Bernice “Bonnie” (the late Al) Pidgeon and Jean “Neddie” (the late John) Volz. She is survived by her daughter, Lana (Fred) Lednick of Crystal City, grandchildren Steve (Tara) Lednick, Jill Lednick and Mark Lednick, great-grandchildren Caroline Lednick, Jackson Lednick, Malayne Lednick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the owner/operator of Betty’s Frock Shop on Festus Main Street for 20 years, and a former model in St. Louis for Grand Leader department store prior to being Stix, Baer and Fuller.Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Dorothy E. Klaus, age 81, of De Soto, MO, passed away December 14, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, MO. She was a Homemaker; worked for Oscar Klaus State Farm and Mike Klaus State Farm; she was also a clerk for Sears. Pauline Marie “Polly” (nee Crocker) Chism, age 88 of California, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away December 16, 2010 in California.  Mrs. Chism was a retired teacher with the Athena and Festus elementary schools and a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City.  An avid gardener, she was a member of the Ida Ruffer Garden Club, the Hoe and Hope Garden Club and the Mineral Area Iris Society.  She was a longtime member of the board of trustees of Jefferson College and of Jeffco Subcontracting, Inc. She was born June 26, 1922 in the Lead Belt area of southeast Missouri, the daughter of the late Mae (nee Wadlow) and Charles Crocker.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Lee Chism, son Jim Chism, grandson Nicholas Lindquist, brothers Ralph and Charles Crocker and a sister-in-law, Norma Crocker. She is survived by her daughter, Lana L. Stanzione and husband Frederick J. of Santa Clarita, California, sister Mary Roussin of Kansas City, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Arlene Florence Cox, age 87 of Festus, Missouri passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born September 19, 1924 in Festus the daughter of the late Freida (nee Rathjen) and Gustav “Gus” Wagner. She is survived by her husband Cletus A. Cox of Festus, son Van C. Cox and wife Mayola of Nixa, Missouri, grandsons Brian, Carson and Tracy Cox and great-grandsons Braden and Blake Cox. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers Roy (wife Eva “Lucy” survives of Farmington, Missouri) Wagner and Raymond G. (wife Carol Ann survives of Festus) Wagner, sisters Iona “Toni” (the late Nick) Nickens and Lorraine (the late Harvey) Frazier. She was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church, Crystal City and a retired assembler from Howard Industries, formerly in Festus. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Peterein.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Trunk, two sisters Christine Schepp and Lucille E. (the late Edward) Becker, brothers John J. (the late Julia) Peterein, Arthur J. (Nora survives) Peterein, David V. (the late Rachel) Peterein and Anthony (the late Earline) Peterein. She is survived by a daughter Pauline M. “Pat” Orban and her husband Don of Gainesville, Florida, a son Daniel P. Trunk of DeSoto, grandchildren Karen Orban, Donny (Amy) Orban, Steven (Kelly) Orban, Jonathan (Laura) Trunk and David Trunk, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in DeSoto, a homemaker and farmer. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Diane Zaneta Louis, age 61 of Bonne Terre, Missouri passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Missouri.  She was born December 21, 1949 in Belleville, Illinois the daughter of the late John and Dorris Frommel.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Henry Francis Louis. She is survived by sons James Anthony (Sally) Louis of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Robert Dale Louis of Bonne Terre, a daughter Barbara Jane (Philip) Marshall of St. Jacob, Illinois and 5 grandchildren, Eric Louis, Reanna Louis, Brooke Meyers, William Meyers and Destiny Griffin.  She is also survived by brothers Bruce (Nancy) Frommel of Searcy, South Carolina, Mike Frommel of West Plains, Missouri,  a sister-in-law Dottie Wiley, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, “Adopted Children and Grandchilden”. She was a Janitor at the Cahokia, Illinois School District and a member of East Bonne Terre Baptist Church. Sweet, age 77, of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in Mount Pleasant, Texas, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.  He was born December 4, 1933 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Morris R. and Georgia D. (nee Dodson) Sweet. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Maupin) Sweet, sons Jim Sweet and wife Terry of Fort Worth, Texas and Jeff Sweet and wife LaDonna of Crystal City, grandchildren Brandon and Madison Sweet of Fort Worth and Joshua and Sarah Sweet of Crystal City, sisters Beverly Sweet of Crystal City and Peggy Gibson and husband Harold of DeSoto, Missouri and sister-in-laws Virginia Sweet of Festus, Rosalyn Uding and husband Ross of Festus, Beverly Wagner and the late husband Don of Festus and Carol Chapman and husband Gerald of Cordova, Tennessee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Morris R. “Bob” Sweet. He was a retired lineman for Union Electric, an army veteran serving during the Korean era, member of Elks #1721 of Festus/Crystal City, Past Master of Shekinah Masonic Lodge in Crystal City, served 12 years on the Herculaneum School Board, also served on the Herculaneum Police Board, Water Authority and Variance Committee. David A. Ketchum, Sr, 69, entered into rest Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his DeSoto residence. He was born on August 3, 1941, in Frumet, Missouri, to the late David F. and Sadie (Sansoucie) Ketchum. He married his sweetheart, Shirley (Gordon) Ketchum, who is also deceased. He is survived by sons: David "Allen" (Laura) Ketchum Jr. of DeSoto, Jim (Sandy) Bickerton of Pevely; daughter, Debbie (Ben) Sanchez of DeSoto; sister, Linda Boyer of DeSoto; girlfriend, Pam Yeager of DeSoto; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; David & Sadie, wife; Shirley and sister; Juanita DeClue. David was employed at Gerstner Electric as an electrician for 43 years until his retirement. Donald Eugene Stone, age 76 of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Scenic View Nursing Center in Herculaneum.   He was born September 18, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois the son of the late Roy and Lydia (nee Moore) Stone.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Karin (nee Whitaker) Stone, three sisters Kathryn Odenthal, Pauline Powell and Leona Bagsby and a brother Floyd “Jr” Stone. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and retired as a caregiver at a nursing home. Private Family Services to be held with interment at Herculaneum Cemetery, Herculaneum.

Alma Barbara Luhn, age 95, of Lake In The Hills, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her residence.  She was born September 8, 1915 in Pevely, Missouri and graduated from Herculaneum High School.  She is the daughter of the late Amy (nee Elstrot) and John Edward Stanglein.  She was the wife of the late Cecil Luhn and mother of Joan Beason and husband Don of Lake In The Hills, the late Shirley Steele and surviving husband Edward of Indianapolis, Indiana and the late John Luhn and surviving wife Marcia of Melbourne, Florida.  She is survived by sisters Alta Luhn of Pevely and Ruth Hemme of DeSoto, Missouri and has 9 surviving grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by brother-in-laws Wilbur Luhn and Walter Hemme. SGT. Craig Thomas Strohmeier, USAR, age 30, of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born November 26, 1980 in Alton, Illinois the son of Sandy (nee Sewell) Strohmeier of Alton, Illinois and Gary Strohmeier of Roxanna, Illinois.  He is survived by his wife April Nichole (nee Fehn) Strohmeier, daughter Lydia and son Ian, brother Jim Strohmeier and wife Michelle of Nashville, Tennessee, sister Ann Cozart and husband Bruce of Alton, Illinois and mother and father in-law Diana and Eric Fehn of Festus. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus, the manager of the Festus Wal-Mart automotive department and also worked at Convergy’s in Arnold, Missouri.  He was a Sergeant in the Active U.S. Army Reserves.  He had served with the 108th Quartermaster Co. in Iraq and was presently with the 236th ICTC Army reserve regiment preparing to deploy to Afghanistan. Visitation at Faith Baptist Church, 11835 County Road CC, Festus from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 2, 2011, and Monday, January 3, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 12:30 P.M. officiated by Pastor Matt Culbertson and Asst. George D. Walton Jr., 50, of De Soto, Missouri died December 31, 2010 in his home. He was born June 1, 1960 born in Inglewood, California. George was a self-employed garage door installer and worked for PJD at the Brewery in St. Louis.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debbie (nee Fields) Walton of De Soto, Missouri; His mother: Evelyn (nee Burrus) Walton of Cedar Hill, Missouri; Siblings, Pam (Chris) Price, of Huntsville Alabama and Dave (Mendi) Walton of Hillsboro, Missouri. Also survived by several Nephews, Nieces, and his two dogs, Molly and Stinky. His father, George D. Walton Sr, precedes him in death. Memorial Service was held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. Memorials to: Jefferson Regional Hospice.
