Grace "Marie" McClain-Gerber, age 90, of Pevely, Missouri passed away at her residence Friday, January 1, 2010. She was born August 26, 1919 in Washington County, Missouri the daughter of the late Frances (nee Anderson) and Montie White. She was preceded in death by husbands Herbert J. McClain and Eugene Gerber. She is survived by a son Dunklin Fire Chief Gary (Dianne) McClain of Pevely, Missouri, a sister Clara Lynn Gamble of Park Hills, Missouri, grandchildren Gary (Jauneen) McClain, Brian (Beth) McClain, Tim (Julie) McClain, Michele (Brian) Darden and Michael (Meghan) McClain and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters. She was retired from the Prince Gardner Purse Manufacturing facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., Festus, Missouri 10:00 A.M. Sunday, January 3, 2010 with services at 1:00 P.M. officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink of Festus, Missouri. Betty Lou Pickell, age 72, of Crystal City, Missouri, formerly of Olathe, Kansas passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri. She was born July 31, 1937 in Nettleton, Arkansas the daughter of the late Bertha (nee Prince) and George Williamson. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Wesly Pickell who passed away April 1, 1998. She is survived by daughters Jackie (Delven) Kling of Imperial, Missouri and Linda (the late Bill) Laughlin of Justin, Texas, a son Mike (Pam) Pickell of Kansas City, Missouri and 6 Grandchildren, Grant and Parker Kling, Jake and Ashley Laughlin, Sara and Haylee Pickell. Brothers: Bill (the late Doretha) Williamson of Topeka, Kansas, Clyde (the late Irene) Williamson of Michigan, the late Leo (the late Dorothy) Williamson and the late Loyd (the late Ruth) Williamson. Sisters: Maxine Boyd of Edgerton, Kansas, Velda (Norman) McCracken of Edgerton, Kansas, the late Judy (the late Ike) Wright and the late Pearl (the late Bob) Stanley. Betty was a retired aircraft instrument manufacturing factory worker for Honeywell Corporation in Olathe, Kansas and member of Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle, Texas. Visistation 12:00 Noon, Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Lawrence Funeral Chapel in Lawrence, Kansas with services at 1:00 P.M. with Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Kansas. Rose W. Beardslee, age 90 of Hillsboro, MO, passed away January 2, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. Born Dec. 10, 1919 in Illmo, MO, she was the daughter of the late William Henry & Rose Missouri (Palmer) Shaw. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher at Hillsboro R-3 District. She was married to the late John R. Beardslee. She is survived by her children: Ruth Beardslee – St. Charles, MO, John C. (Darlene) Beardslee – Altenburg, MO, Robert D. (Sherie) Beardslee – Hillsboro, MO, Elizabeth (Michael) McKim – Dittmer, MO and Patricia Lou (John) Fischer – Manchester, MO, her brothers: William Henry Shaw, Jr. – Columbia, MO and Dr. Robert C. Shaw – Columbia, MO and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings: Gussie Schaffer, Helen Endrizzi, Mildred Russel, Emma Lea Fremont, & Hazel Adams. She was a volunteer and board Member of the Hillsboro Food Pantry, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, NEA, and a member of theHillsboro United Methodist Church. Funeral Service is Saturday, January 9, 2010 @ 11 AM at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. David Webster, Officiating. Place of Burial: Hillsboro Cemetery. Josephine E. "Jo" Cartee, age 80, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. She was born March 12, 1929 in Imperial, Missouri, the daughter of the late Mary (nee Stockwell) and Thomas Stockwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband John James "Jim" Cartee who passed away March 4, 2001. She is survived by sons Jerry (Pam) Cartee of High Hill, Missouri and Ronald (Peggy R.) Cartee of Crystal City. Daughter Nancy J. Cartee of Crystal City. Grandchildren Tammy (Mike) Pritchett, Greg Cartee, Kevin Cartee and Amanda (Josh) Barks. Great-Grandchildren April, Austin, Keanan and Chase. Mrs. Cartee was a homemaker, member of Rock Presbyterian Church in Imperial, the CIA Hall of DeSoto and the Red Hat Society. George L. Huber, age 74, of De Soto, MO, passed away January 2, 2010 at his residence in De Soto, MO. He was a retired Final Inspector for General Motors Corporation. Born October 28, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Charles R. & Edna E. (nee Wamsganz) Huber. He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Nauman) Huber and children: Chuck (Vickie) Huber – Arnold, MO, Joe (Matthew Dohm) Huber – Dallas, TX. Patricia (J. R.) Johnson – Dallas, TX. Grandchildren: Shawn Johnson & Sarah Huber. Great-Grandchildren: Colt Johnson. Member of: Mizpah Mount Moriah #40 AF & AM,  and UAW #2250. Nina Leora Moore, age 95, of Festus, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Baisch Nursing Center, DeSoto, Missouri. She was born October 19, 1914 in Wayne Co., Missouri the daughter of the late Grace (Tidwell) and Alfred Moore. She was married to Cecil Clifford Moore who preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Cecilia (Clemens) Werner and Patsy L. Johnston, both of Festus, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She has one surviving sister Francis Cash of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by sisters Elsie Nichols and Ruby Radford, and brothers Lloyd Moore Lewis Moore and Leonard Moore. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus after 12:30 P.M. with service at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 with Bro. John Weaver, Associate Pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Festus officiating. Robert L. Norris, 81 of DeSoto passed away January 4, 2010 in DeSoto.  Mr. Norris was a forklift driver for General Motors Corp.  He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of VFW Post 3777 in Crystal City.  Born September 13, 1928, in St. Charles, Arkansas, he was the son of the late William and Emma (Chadwick) Norris. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Hanley) Norris of DeSoto; seven childen:  Eddie (Debbie) Norris of Hillsboro, Robert Norris Jr, of Florida, Mike Norris of DeSoto, Phyllis (Carl) Flottmann of DeSoto, Helen (Norton) McMahan of Florida, Carrie Justine of St Louis and Jesse (Judy) Campbell of Mississippi; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 7, 2010 at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated br Bro. Ron Follmer.  Burial was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.  Arrangements were under direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Joseph Adam Boyer, 84 of DeSoto passed away at his  residence on January 6, 2010. He was born July 27, 1925 at Old Mines; the son of the late Adam J. and Julia Boyer. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Johnson) Boyer of DeSoto.  Mr. Boyer was self-employed as a contractor/carpenter; 50th year Carpenter's Local 2214, In 1943, Joe joined the Knights of Columbus; he was 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Past Grand Knight, Past Pro-Life Chairman, Past District Deputy, member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto, and was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps during WWII.  Joseph was the dear father of Janet (Randy) Basler of Washington, Sharon (Terry) Cunningham of Columbia, Pamela (Tom) Dietrich of Fenton, Robert Boyer of DeSoto and Edward (Cathy) Boyer of DeSoto; dear father-in-law of Anita Boyer of DeSoto. Mr. Boyer was the dear grandfather of Bran, Stacie, Adam, Dana, Nicole, Ben, Andrew, Joshua, Nathan, Ellena, Joseph, Justin, Terra and Kayla; dear great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Shelby, Weston, Ava, Alaynah, Ericka, Zachary, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Kassidy, Tyler, Shelby, Alayna, Morgan, Jacob, Sophia, and Dempsy; dear great-great-grandfather of Kylie.  Mr. Boyer was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Francis "Frankie" Boyer, a grandson, Jacob Metz, a granddaughter, Tiffany Boyer-Earp and a great-grandchild, Dillon.  Mass  was Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM .  The Mass was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church officiated by Father Alexander Anderson.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.  The funeral was held under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel.

Duncan C. Goetz, 15, of Wynne, Arkansas passed away at Crossridge Community Hospital on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. He was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts, a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church and a freshman student at Wynne High School. He is survived by his parents: Robert and Cathy (Adreon) Goetz Sr of Wynne, AR, brothers: Robert Goetz Jr, Eric Goetz, James Goetz, Christopher Boyer and Joey Boyer all of Wynne, AR and grandmother: Denita Daniels. Richard "Rick" E. Henry, 56, of Tulsa, OK (formerly of Festus) passed away on January 6, 2010 at his residence. He was a warehouse foreman for 19 years at Tyco Plastics before becoming a forklift operator for United Warehouse. He was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the yard and building things. Born October 31, 1953, in Festus to Esther (Schumer) Henry and the late Leroy Henry.He is survived by his loving wife Pamela (Russell) Henry of Tulsa, OK; daughter: Tracy Henry of Festus; son: Travis Henry of Festus; stepson, Cody Coleman of Olatha, KS; 1 grandchild, 3 stepgrandchildren; brothers: Gerald (Kathleen) Henry of Catoosa, OK, Jeff (Kathy) Henry of Tulsa,OK, Donald (Beth) Henry of Bloomsdale, MO and sisters: Debbie (the late Bill) Shepherd of Olympian Village, MO and Sandra Henry of Festus. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Michael, Roger and Robert Henry. (nee Thompson) and James Henry Bloomer.  Also preceded in death by her husband William J. Davis.  She is survived by a sister Collen (the late Norman) Curtis of Decatur, Illinois, two sons John R. (Sheryl L.) Davis of Liberty, Missouri and William J. “Bill” (Sandra) Davis of Festus.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Sally (Mike) Tull, Paula (Keith) Kersey, Jennifer (Chad) Harrison, Tammy (Paul) Ganey, Billy Davis and John (Bethany) Davis, Jr., 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Born July 6, 1919 in DeSoto, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Fannie (nee Tolton) Muzzey. She was an Associate Magazine Editor for Missouri Pacific Railroad . She was married to: The late Morris Calvert Barnhart and the late Montell Vance “Monty” Walters. She is survived by her sons: David Barnhart, Sarasota, FL, and Dr. Warren Barnhart, Sr. San Diego, CA, and her brother James  Muzzey, Clearwater, FL (Preceded in death by a brother, Warren Muzzey; a sister, Norma Reynolds) she is also survived by a Dear Friend, Louise Muzzey, De Soto, MO, Grandchildren: Denise Sperruzza, Warren Barnhart, Jr., Elizabeth Barnhart, Philip Barnhart, Anne Barnhart and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Madeline Sheltman, age 89, of Kimmswick, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at St. Luke’s West Medical Center in Chesterfield, Missouri.  She was born September 8, 1920 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents the late Etta (nee Olfe) and Otto W. Geyer, Sr., her husband John Edward Sheltman and a brother Otto W. Geyer, Jr.  Surviving are her 4 daughters:  Linda (Jean) Magre of Webster Groves, MO, Virginia (Roger) Neemann of Kansas City, MO, Carol (Dale) Griffin of Tucson, AZ and Barbara (Roger K.) Schmidt of Festus, MO.  6 Grandchildren:  Nathanael (Ann Marie) Magre of Fayetteville, AR, Joel (Lindsay) Magre of Mesa, AZ, Jeff (Jennifer) Neemann of Lenexa, KS, Brad (Jenny) Neemann of Raymore, MO, Amanda Schmidt of Denver, CO and Nicholas Schmidt of Fredericktown, MO.  6 Great-grandchildren:  Matthew and Lauren Magre, Emma, Ben, Peyton and Alexis Neeman.  And a niece Meg Geyer, of Largo, FL. She and her husband John owned and operated Southway Cleaners on S. Broadway and Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis.  She also was a clerk with the Jefferson Co. Magistrate Court.  She retired as a caseworker from Jefferson County Community Action.  She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City, Missouri, the Kimmswick Historical Society, the “Scotties” which was her school girls group of life long friends and she was an avid bridge player. Ronald David Abrams, age 64, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  He was born July 14, 1945 in Festus, Missouri the son of the late Virginia Rose (nee Reheisse) and Jerry Lee Abrams.  He is survived by daughters Chera (John) Voss of Crystal City and Jenee (Brent) Chamberlain of Louisville, Kentucky.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Jarod and Gabrielle Voss, Chase and Kyler Chamberlain, 3 brothers Mike (Susan) Abrams, Brent (Kris) Abrams and Dennis Abrams all of Festus, 3 sisters Sharon (the late Jerry) Howe of Festus, JoAnn (Danny) Kenny of Affton, Missouri and Carleen Abrams of St. Louis, Missouri. He was a retired auto assembly inspector from the Chrysler Fenton Plant, a member of Sacred Heart Church and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969. Evelyn Irene Kreitler, age 89, of Bloomsdale, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2010 at Baisch Nursing Center in DeSoto, Missouri.  She was born January 18, 1921 in Festus, Missouri the daughter of the late John Henry and Florence (nee Becker) Boyer.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Joseph Kreitler, three sisters, Marie Oberle, Jeannette Martin and Millie (the late Fritz) Mueller,  two brothers, James W. Boyer and Norville Boyer.She is survived by daughters, Neasha Hercher of DeSoto and Barbara Blake of Wentzville, Missouri, a son James “Jim” (Glinda) Kreitler of Fenton, Missouri, 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Bloomsdale, Missouri. Private Family services with interment at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

Dessie Eugenia Rankin, age 96 of Festus, Missouri, formerly of Potosi, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born in Wren, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Hattie (nee English) and Jason R. Gallop.  She also was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 2 brothers  and her husband Macon Rankin.  She is survived by her daughter Lillian (the late Jackie O.) St. John of Festus, 2 granddaughters Debra L. (Rev. Mark) Hardin and Denise L. (Fred D.) Moreland, 2 great-grandchildren Christopher A. Hardin and Amy Elizabeth Hardin. She was a homemaker and member of Ozark Heights Baptist Church of Potosi. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus 10:00 A.M. Mary V. Wall  -  Mary V. Wall, 57, of DeSoto, MO passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 in St Louis.  Mary V. Wall was born the daughter of Elma (nee Vivrett) Miller and the late John Miller, Sr. She was the beloved wife of James Wall of DeSoto, MO; dear mother of Jennifer (John) Arnett of DeSoto, MO and Krista (Matt) Ott of Festus, MO; dear sister of John (Sheree) Miller, Jr. of DeSoto, MO, Linda (John) Warden of DeSoto, MO, Joan (Michael) Hammontree of Hillsboro, MO, and Debbie (Wade) Sherrow of DeSoto, MO; dear grandmother of four grandchildren.  Mary was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, DeSoto, MO and a member of Eastern Star. Mary was a teacher at Sunrise School District.   Service:  Date: January 13, 2010 Time: 10:00am  Service Location: Parkview Baptist Church - DeSoto, MO.  Rev. Brian Law officiated the service. Carol Ann Ames, age 41, of DeSoto, MO, passed away January 10, 2010 at Jefferson regional Medical Center, Crystal City, MO. She was a student at Jefferson College. Born July 11, 1968 in Blytheville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of  Alvin Sr. & Paulette (nee Whitener) Northcutt – De Soto, MO, and the late Donald Ames. She is survived by: Sisters:  Linda Ames – De Soto, MO, Gail (Dave) Gooden – Ballwin, MO, Brother: Michael (Donna) Ames – Forney, TX, Step Brothers: Alvin “Corky” (Joyce) Northcutt Jr. – De Soto, MO, Kenny Northcutt – De Soto, MO. (Preceded in death by Step-Sister: Brenda Howell). Bradyn Joseph Browning, of DeSoto passed away on January 10, 2010 at Children's Hospital, St. Louis. He was born January 9, 2010; the son of Douglas Gerard and Heather (Briggs) Browning of DeSoto.  Bradyn is survived by a brother, Deagyn Browning of DeSoto; Grandparents: Randy & Cindy Briggs of DeSoto, Douglas & Connie Browning of Hillsboro, Pamela Browning of Festus; Great Grandparents: Wade & Fran Hill of Lesterville and Great-Great Grandparents, Loren Hill also of Lesterville.  Bradyn was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Browning, II. Irmalee (King) Coleman, 81, of Crystal City, entered into rest on Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Crystal City. She had been employed as a secretary at Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Crystal City. Born August 30, 1928, in Hillsboro, MO to the late William and Mary Jane (Cage) King. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wendell J. Coleman; daughter, Donna (Daniel) Goodwin of Festus; son, Darren (Cindy) Coleman; five grandchildren: Brendan Coleman, Chase Coleman, Daneen (Christopher) Herbert, Dawn (Drew) Null and Douglas (Lisa) Goodwin; eight great grandchildren: Haley, Mackenzie, and Easton Null, Gunnar and Annika Herbert, Maverick, Claire, and Kingston Goodwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Byrl and Glenn King and sisters: Naomi King and Opal Bins. Reverend Jim Owens will officiate the service.

Fred Edmond Jackson, age 66, of rural Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010 at St. Clare Health Care Center in Fenton, Missouri.  He was born August 22, 1943 in Plattin, Missouri the son of the late Rose Marie (nee Allgire) and Peter Berney Jackson.  He is survived by is wife Barbara (nee Resinger) Jackson, son Daniel Edmond Jackson of San Deigo, California, daughter Elizabeth Ann (Patrick) Lackey of Festus and a granddaughter Jennifer Rose Lackey.  Also surviving are a sister Margie (the late Bob) Hill of Crystal City, Missouri and a brother Berney Dale (Mary) Jackson of Festus. He was a parts inspector for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corp., the St. Louis Machinist Union and a firefighter with the Jefferson R-7 Fire Protection District for 52 years. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010.  Funeral services 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Margaret M. (McRae) Powell, 86, of Crystal City, MO entered into rest on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center. She was  a homemaker so she could raise her children, served as President for the Dallas Area Parkinsonsim Society, a member of Herculaneum United Methodist Church and a "pink lady" at Crystal Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Born June 27, 1923, in Athens, Georgia to the late Murdock and Iris (Cheatwood) McRae. She was the dear wife of the late Thomas "Kinney" Powell who preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by her daughter: Peggy (Jerry) Martin of Herculaneum, grandchildren: Matthew Howell of Fenton and Michael (Dana) Howell of Arnold and great grandchild: Madison Howell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Joann Burnes and Euna Holland. John Joseph “Jack” Lalumondier, age 82, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his residence.  He was born in Crystal City July 18, 1927 the son of the late Blanche Mary (nee LaRose) and August Louis Lalumondier.  Also preceding him in death were sisters: Ada (the late Stanley) Marler, Hilda B. (the late Raymond) Fults, Thelma P. Lalumondier and a brother Adam (the late Corinne) Lalumondier.  He is survived by his wife Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Chappue) Lalumondier, a brother Robert I. (the late Naomi) Lalumondier of Crystal City, daughters Deborah (Mike) Pashia of Festus, Missouri, Janice (John) Robinson of Festus and Angie (John) Mather of St. Louis, Missouri and a son Michael (Angel) Lalumondier of Ocoee, Florida.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren Aaron Pashia, Monica (Robert) Dobyns, Sarah Robinson, Madeleine Mather, Ashley Mather, Corey Robinson, Michael (Felicia) Robinson, 6 great-grandchildren Jade Dobyns, Olivia Dobyns, Corey Allen Robinson, Thurston Robinson, Jon Robinson and Avry Robinson. He was a a Navy veteran of WW-II , a retired Chemist from USS Agri-Chem and LaRoche Industries of Festus and member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City.  He was a member of American Legion Post #253 where he sang with the “Patriots”, a member of VFW #3777 and a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA). Meyer, age 81, of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born December 6, 1928 in Jefferson County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Bernice (nee Nelson) and Floyd Roderique, Sr.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar J. “Eddie” Meyer, 4 sisters Norma Skaggs, Pat Derryberry, Dorothy Boyer and Madonna Roderique, 4 brothers Eugene, Kenneth, David and Tom Roderique.  She is survived by a daughter Cheryl (Terry) DeClue of Festus, Missouri, sons Timothy (Janice) Meyer of St. Louis and James (Cheryl) Meyer of Festus, sister Connie (Olas) Walls of Festus and brother Floyd H. Roderique, Jr. of Hillsboro, Missouri.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Patrick (Amy) DeClue, Gregory (Samantha) DeClue, Amanda Meyer, Ryan Meyer, Jessica (Daniel) Amsden and Zachary Meyer and 4 great-grandchildren Tabitha, Nathaniel, Makayla and Lucas DeClue. Frank Stubblefield  - Francis D. "Frank" Stubblefield, 76, of DeSoto passed away on January 14, 2010 at his home. Born September 17, 1933 in Cuba, Missouri; he was the son of the late James & Amelia (Smith) Stubblefield. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dixie L. Stubblefield.   Frank is survived by his sons: Mark (Carey) Stubblefield of Moscow Mills, MO, Gary (Bonnie) Stubblefield of Rolla, Thomas Stubblefield of DeSoto, Anthony (Carey) Stubblefield of Springfield, Keith (Pam) Stubblefield of Republic, Brett Stubblefield of Hazelwood, Craig (Barb) Stubblefield of Fulton, and Brian Stubblefield of Sorento, Illinois; his daughters: Christine (Jerry) Chalcraft of Cuba, MO, Lisa (Don) Rohlfing of Lake St. Louis, and Traci Stubblefield of DeSoto; he was the dear grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister Genevieve McClinton of Hillsboro.   He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a son, Terry Stubblefield and six sisters: Catherine Verplank, Irene Caldwell, Marjorie Purl, Cecilia Stubblefield, Ruth Blackford and June Tiehes.
Frank was self-employed as a contractor of Home Craft Improvement Co. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved the great outdoors, and liked reading western books. A Memorial gathering was held at 9:30am. with Memorial Mass at 10:00a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Alex Anderson officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home DeSoto Chapel.

Gerald Lee “Jerry” Downs, age 55, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Friday January 15, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County, Missouri.  He was born August 25, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Ann (nee Vaughn) and James Reed Downs, Sr.  He is survived by 2 daughters Keasha Marie Linenweber of Pacific, Missouri and Diana Lee Downs of Park Hills, Missouri and a son Jerry Michael (Kristie) Cavins of Park Hills, Missouri, 2 sisters Peggy (Ronald) Cartee of Crystal City and Janet (Steve) Johnson of Festus, Missouri, a brother James Reed “J.R.” (Connie) Downs, Jr. of Hematite, Missouri and 7 grandchildren: Jordan, Emma, Keylee, Mason, Jarrett, Taylin and Halle. He was a U.S. Army veteran, an autoworker for the Chrysler Fenton Plant, member of Herculaneum Baptist Church and the Herculaneum Amvets post. Virginia Weir  -  Virginia M. "Ginney" Weir, 86 years, of DeSoto entered into rest on January 15, 2010 at her home. Born March 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Schmittzehe. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Weir.  Ginney is survived by four daughters: Mary Ann Huskey of DeSoto, Charlotte (David) Nagel of Columbia, Beverly Boyer of DeSoto, and Carol (Dwayne) Blum of DeSoto; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Erwin (Dalora) of Dexter, and a sister Meryl Weir.  Ginney was a waitress; loved reading and dancing.  There was a Memorial Service, Friday, January 22, 2010  at 1:00pm.  Arrangements wereunder the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Rita M. “Dee Dee” Voelker, age 91, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born September 10, 1918 in St. Mary, Missouri, the daughter of the late Ruth (nee Tlapek) and Frank Henry Voelker.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters Hortense C. Williams and Natalie Hunt, 2 brothers Frank T. and Oscar J. Voelker and two nephews Tommy Lee Williams and Frank Doza.  She is survived by one sister Irene (the late Marshall) Doza of Festus, Missouri.  Also surviving are nephews Wayne (Vivian) Williams, Jack (Peggy) Voelker, Richard (Kitty) Doza,  Gregg Doza, nieces Sandra (Les) Mouser, Mary (Rowdy) Swink, Donna (Larry) Walters and Denise (Terry) Hampton.  Numerous Great Nieces and Great Nephews including Lonnie Williams, Jeffrey (Joan) Williams, Cheryl (Roy) Waymire, Kenna Williams Waymire, Elijah Waymire, Gavin Waymire, Michael Voelker and Terry (Bill) Bates.  In addition she is survived by numerous Great-Great Nieces and Great-Great Nephews. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and was retired from the Co-Ed Garment Factory in Festus, Missouri.  Ms. Voelker also previously worked at the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Crystal City, Missouri. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 21, 2010.  Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2010 with Fr.  Charles H. Gilbert, Jr., 72, of DeSoto passed away on January 19, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  Mr. Gilbert was a machinist for McDonnell-Douglas and a member of the Aerospace Machinist Union.  He was a past president of the DeSoto Little Leaque and Assistant District 3 Administrator for the Little Leaque.  Born July 19, 1937 in Bellevue, Ohio, he was the son of Dorothy E. (Gillette) and Charles H. Gilbert Sr., of Green Springs, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Dotti Gilbert of DeSoto.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Gilbert; two brothers: Donald and Robert Gilbert: and one sister, Caroline Lougenbobler. Funeral services were held January 23, 2010 at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Rose Marie Mangan-Mitcham, age 89, of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri. She was born November 24, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Kathryn (nee Canepa) and Henry F. Kratzer.  She was preceded in death by two husbands, David L. Mangan who died in 1952 and Hubert Mitcham who died in 1991. She is survived by 4 sons, David Michael (Judith) Mangan, Terrence L. (JoAnn) Mangan, Christopher H. (Helen) Mangan and Paul “Kim” (Carla) Mangan, all of Festus.  Also surviving are 10 Grandchildren Michael Mangan, Lynn Trask, Lance Mangan, Amy Janik, Kelly Masek, Casey Young, Leisa Freeze, David Mangan, Meaghan Portell and Andrew Mangan, 10 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Step-Children and 22 Step-Grandchildren. She was a retired elementary school teacher having taught for the Dunklin R-5 and Fox C-6 School Districts and later in Gonzalez, LA.  In addition she owned and operated her own Beauty Salon in Festus.  She was a member of the NEA and AARP.  Private Graveside Services at Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Memorials preferred to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Harlie Spruell, 87, of DeSoto passed away January 22, 2010 at his home.  Mr. Spruell was a tire re-capper for Cole Tire in Crystal City and had worked for the DeSoto Street Department.  He was a volunteer firefighter for the city of DeSoto for 25 years, and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the VFW.  He also was a food pantry volunteer.  Born August 13, 1922, in Picher, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Floyd and Goldie M. (McDowell) Spruell. He is survived by his wife, Seraphine (Bequette) Spruell of DeSoto; four sons: Nathan (Karen) Spruell of DeSoto, Kevin Spruell of DeSoto, Jerome Spruell of DeSoto and Flavin (Carlen) Spruell of DeSoto; two daughters: Davalie Frazer of DeSoto and Ardis Fischer of DeSoto; one brother, Carl Spruell of DeSoto; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Spruell; five brothers: Emery Spruell, Earl Spruell, Johnnie Spruell, Vernon Spruell and Richard Spruell and one sister, Ruby Spruell. Funeral services were held January 25, 2010 at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Alex Anderson.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Robin Henry, 44, of DeSoto passed away January 22, 2010 in DeSoto.  Ms Henry was a produce manager with Wal-Mart stores in Festus and Farmington.  Born October 28, 1965, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of Iva L. (Hill) Leas of DeSoto and the late Arthur Harvey Leas. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Greg Henry of DeSoto; a daughter, Meghan Henry of DeSoto; and two sisters: Gala Sue (Willie) Watkins of Pevely and Deborah Ann (Howard Jr.,) Boyer of DeSoto. Funeral services were held January 25, 2010 at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Randy Murphy.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto. Lester Martin Siebert, age 88, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  He was born in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, May 13, 1921, the son of the late Rose Regina (nee Huber) and Charles Lawrence Siebert. Also preceding him in death were 3 brothers Wilford Joe Siebert, Glennon Siebert, Valentine Siebert and a sister Ardella Rose Bange.  He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Heob) Siebert, a brother Peter “Ray” (the late Fran) Siebert of San Francisco, CA, a sister Louella E. (Edward) Herbst of Ste. Genevieve, a daughter Vicki (Don) McGraw of Festus, and sons Kim (Diana) Siebert of Festus and Mark (Terri) Siebert of Festus.  Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren Shannon (Chad) Helms, Jessica McGraw, Dane (Natalie) McGraw, Nathan (Elsa) Siebert, Michael Siebert, Daniel Siebert, Amber Siebert, Kristin Siebert, Kyle Siebert and one great-granddaughter Breanna Williams. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, a retired Leadworker at St. Joe Lead Company and a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City, Missouri.  He was a member of American Legion Post #253 and VFW Post #3777. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2010, and at First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Lane, 71, of DeSoto passed away January 28, 2010, in Crystal City.  Mrs. Lane was the co-owner of Lane Consolidated Services Inc.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the DeSoto Amvets Auxiliary.  Born November 12, 1938 in Granite City, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Ross Ritchie and Eula (Henry) Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Clifton "Cliff" Lane of DeSoto; two children: Rick (Gayle) Lane of DeSoto and Tammy (Rick) Owens of DeSoto; three siblings: Jerry (Marcella) Ritchie of DeSoto, James (Linda) Bailey of Sullivan, Illinois and Eveline (Ron) Shackleford of Shelbyville, Illinois; five grandchildren: David, Ricky, Kimberly, Tiffany and Julie; eight great-grandchildren: Dawson, Samantha, Sydney, Charli, Mia, Penelope, Maci and Augustine; and friend, Alice Suiter of DeSoto. Smith, 69, of DeSoto passed away January 30, 2010, at Hillcrest Nursing Center.  Mrs. Smith was a certified nurse's aide.  Born April 29, 1940, in Patterson, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ann (Laster) Booker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Smith Sr. She is survived by four children: Paul E. (Gladys) Smith Jr., of Fredericktown, Robert (Judy) Smith of DeSoto, Danny (Debbie) Smith of DeSoto and David (Debra) Smith of DeSoto; one brother, Floyd Booker of Piedmont; two sisters: Josephine Vogler of Fredericktown and Nelly Perry of Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Theresa Booher; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, James Boher; a granddaughter, Makalya Booher and five brothers. Francis Luther  -  Francis R. "Junior" Luther, age 71, DeSoto, entered into rest on January 30, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born June 23, 1938 in Old Mines; he was the son of the late Robert E. and Lillian M (Coleman) Luther.   Mr. Luther was a machinist at Flat River Glass Company. He enjoyed playing music on his guitar, and he loved his family dearly.  Mr Luther was the father of Gary Luther, DeSoto, Chris Luther of Valle Lake, Kip Luther of Imperial, Victoria Tomlinson, DeSoto, Lori Gabelmann, Pevely, and Darla McKinney of DeSoto; a brother to Paul (Faye) Luther, Robert (Catherine) Luther, Danny Luther all of Cadet and a brother to Doug (Nancy) Luther of Potosi, Erma Roberson of Tennessee, Mary Politte, Karen (Glen) Kincaid, and Barbara (Curtis) Politte all of Cadet; dear grandfather of sixteen grandchildren and dear great-grandfather of nineteen great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Billy Luther and a sister, Catherine Juliette.   There was a Memorial Service, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 1:00pm .  Rev. Bruce Valle officiated.  Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.
