Loyd D. Lucas, 76, of House Springs passed away on November 2, 2010 at St. Clair Hospital in Fenton. Born January 13, 1934 in Richwoods, MO; he was the son of the late Younger and Eva Marie (Jones) Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a laborer for the Shamrock Distributing. He loved Cardinal baseball. Mr. Lucas is survived by a brother, Arlis (Faye) Lucas of Belleville, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, and four sisters.

Evelyn G. Kidd, age 83, of High Ridge, MO, passed away November 2, 2010 at her residence in High Ridge, MO. She was Grant Writer for East-West Gateway Coordinating Council of Greater St. Louis; she also worked in the Jefferson County Assessors Office & Planning and Zoning Office of Jefferson County. Born April 24, 1927 in Hillsboro, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late William Elijah and Mayme Gertrude (nee Levall) Kidd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Norvel Kidd. Mary Tyarks, age 63, of Richwoods, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Friday, November 5, 2010. Born October 13, 1947 to the late Homer & Ester Hayes. She is survived by her loving husband Donald; sons: Dewey (Shereen) Tyarks, Sr. of Barnhart, Danny Tyarks of Richwoods; daughters: Linda Earlywine of Fredericktown, and Jessica Tyarks of Hazelwood; brother Donnie (Terry) Hayes of DeSoto;and brother & sister-in-laws; Ann Quirino of Ohio, Richard Tyarks of DeSoto, John Tyarks of Troy, Jeanell Garner of Troy, James Litherland of St. Louis, and Jeaneen Meyer of O'Fallon. Mary was a loving grandmother to Brittany, Maddlynn, Colleen, Natalie, Bridgette, Ashley, and Dewey Jr. Mary also leaves behind her faithful dogs: Suzie, Charlie, Precious and Bruiser. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Tyarks, a brother John Hayes, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Litherland. Mary was a cook at Missouri Baptist Hospital and Chuck-A-Burger until she retired. She loved shopping and was an Avon Agent. Deacon Jerry Stoverink will be officiating funeral service.

Mary “Kathlyn” Miller, age 94 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her residence.  She was born May 27, 1916 in Festus, Missouri the daughter of the late William and Pearl (nee Primo) Heddell.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Charles Miller, sisters June Liolios, Margie Dalby and Helen Anthony, brothers Gordon (the late Angeline) Heddell and William Heddell, Jr. who died in infancy.  She is survived by Nieces and Nephews. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City. Visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Missouri and after 11:00 A.M. Kenneth Earl Ashabranner, Sr., age 59 passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born June 26, 1951 in Clarkton, Missouri the son of Elliott Ashabranner of DeSoto, Missouri and the late Juanita (nee Elliott) Ashabranner.  In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by a brother Brian Keith Ashabranner. He is survived by his father, step-mother Bobbie Jean (nee Summerfield) Ashabranner, sons Kenneth Ashabranner, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, David Anthony Ashabranner, St. Louis and Damian Ashabranner of Campbell, Missouri, brothers Eddie (Shelly) Ashabranner of St. Peters, Missouri and Mike Ashabranner of Herculaneum, Missouri, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Laura Mae Ramey, age 86 formerly of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Herculaneum, Missouri.  She was born November 10, 1923 in Ulm, Arkansas the daughter of the late Leslie and Rosalie (nee Drury) Davis.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Jesse W. Ramey, her brother Leslie “L.C.” Davis, half-brothers, Charlie and Willie Davis, Sisters Anna Belle (the late Otho Eugene) Moore and Esther (the late Cletus) Beckemeyer, half-sisters Viola Ellis and Leona Chew.  She is survived by her daughter Betty (Ralph) Pusateri of Arnold, Missouri, step-sisters Katherine Simms and Marcie Weiss both of Festus, Missouri and a step-brother John Ramey of Festus.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, Missouri and had formerly worked at the Shoe Factory and served as a Judge at the election polls.Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus with services Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Jimmy Emerson, 61,of Hillsboro, entered into rest on November 8, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital. Born February 17, 1949 in St. Louis; he was the son of Dorothy "Dottie" (nee Talley) Barker of St. John's, MO and the late William Emerson. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine "Kay" (nee Lopretta) Emerson of Hillsboro. Mr. Emerson was a sheet metal worker for Lackey Sheet Metal of St. Louis and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Local 36-Sheet Metal Workers Union. He enjoyed going to the Casino and spending time with his family. Mr. Emerson is also survived by two sons: Jimmy (Katey) Emerson, Jr. of Woodson Terrace, MO and Derek Emerson of Farmington; a daughter, Amanda (Brian) Austin of Farmington; and seven grandchildren: Shelby, Travis, Bailey, Chloe, Riley, Brennan and Brayden. Monsignor Jerome Buchheit will be officiating mass.

Mary Anna Batts, age 78 of DeSoto, Missouri formerly of Pevely, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Center in DeSoto.  She was born February 14, 1932 in Kentucky the daughter of the late Floyd Warner and Florence (nee Price) Graves.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Warner (Ellen survives) Graves and William Maurice (Sandy survives) Graves. She is survived by her husband, Ivie Earl Batts of DeSoto, two sons, Richard Earl (Kathy) Batts of DeSoto and Steve Craig (Robin) Batts of DeSoto.  She is also survived by a sister LaDonna (Jim) Wolter of Fenton, Missouri, two brothers, Paul Vernon (Marilyn) Graves of DeSoto and Edgar Lawrence (Fran) Graves of Green Bay, Wisconsin and 5 grandchildren Nicholas, Caitlin, Anna, Jared and Alison Batts. Lola M. Lyerla, 82, of DeSoto, passed away on November 9, 2010 at the Hillcrest Nursing Center. Born May 31, 1928 in Broseley, Missouri; she was the daughter of the late Solonus King and Mary (nee Conrad) Downs. Lola was a homemaker/housekeeper. She was a Sunday School Teacher and song leader at the Prince of Peace Apostolic Pentecoastal Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Lyerla is survived by three sons: Terry (Debra) Lyerla of Blackwell, Tom (Susan) Lyerla of St. Louis, and Ken (Pam) Lyerla of Fenton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Wasson of DeSoto. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mass Downs; five sisters: Ruth Henson, Dorothy Gray, Martha Ballew,Flora Pickard and Vernes Wasser. Pastor Micky Roettgen will be officiating the funeral service.

He was a retired chemical worker for Monsanto Manufacturing and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mary Worley, 80, of De Soto, entered into rest on November 17, 2010 at her residence. Born June 7, 1930 in Festus; she was the daughter of the late Marvin J. and Mary J. (nee Helms) Scott. Her husband, John E Worley, Jr. preceded her in death in 2006. Mrs. Worley was a homemaker and also a sales representative for Avon products. She was a pianist for many churches and an excellent cook. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Luckey. Mrs. Worley is survived by a daughter, Mary C. "Cathy" (Tom) Campbell of De Soto; a brother, Marvin (Jacqueline) Scott, Jr.; two sisters: Wilma M. White and Shirley A. (Oliver) Hayes; many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Karl W. Scott and two sisters: Wanda A. Wamsganz and Evelyn R. Shrum. John J. Peterein, age 93 of Festus, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at his residence.  He was born August 24, 1917 at Festus, the son of the late Pauline Agnes (nee Oberle) and David A. Peterein.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine “Julia” (nee Plass) Peterein, brothers Arthur J. (Nora survives) Peterein, David V. (the late Rachel) Peterein and Anthony (the late Earline) Peterein.  He is survived by daughters Carol (Rudy) Zaagman of Michigan and Lori (the late Dennis) Robinson of Festus, sons Wayne F. (Kathleen) Peterein, Sr. of Oakville, Missouri, John D. Peterein of Fenton, Missouri, James (Mary) Peterein of Festus and Gary Peterein of Festus, brothers Daniel E. (the late Marcella) Peterein of Festus, Charles F. (Margaret) Peterein of Crystal City, Missouri, sister Pauline (the late Daniel) Trunk of DeSoto, 10 grandchildren, 2 step-granchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was an Army veteran of WWII, the retired Employment Director from 1950-1979 for the PPG Industries Crystal City plant, one of the founding members of the Church of Our Lady in Festus, one of the “Founding Fathers” organization for the formation of St. Pius X High School in Festus, one of the founding members of the Mapaville Fire Assn., member of American Legion #253, VFW #3777, Knights of Columbus Council #1230 and 4th degree member. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2010.  Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Church of Our Lady, Festus, with Fr. Tamera J. Wilkinson (nee Skorseth), 56, of Festus, passed away on Saturday, November 27 at St Louis University Hospital. She was an administrative assistant for the United States Coast Guard, a member of AARP who enjoyed sewing and loved her family. Born October 16, 1954, in Virginia, MN to Robert and Georgia (McWilliams) Skorseth of Las Vegas, NV who survive. She is also survived by her husband of 37 years, Terry L. Wilkinson; son: Tim Wilkinson of Festus, MO; daughter: Tara (Scott) Dormeyer of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren: Carter and Camdon; and brothers: Thomas Skorseth of Las Vegas, NV and Michael (Melissa) Skorseth of St Charles, MO. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 30 at 5:30pm at Journey Community Church in Herculaneum, MO. Service officiated by Pastor Rick Pirtle. Interment private.

Vivian Carey-Bonds (nee Meyer), 69, of Festus, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a former child care worker and babysitter. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, computers, card games and playing scrabble. Born February 17, 1941, in St Louis to the late Harry and Leona (Fuller) Meyer. She is survived by a son: Walter N. (Mary) Carey Jr of Pevely, first husband: Walter N. Carey Sr of Pevely; niece: Terry Weston and Family of St Louis; nephews: Kevin, Dan and Bruce Eads and Families; grandchildren: Wally Carey and Cedrick (Tasha) Pratt; great grandchildren: Kylee and C.J.; dear friends: Nora and Max Turner of Festus, MO and Brenda Pachlofer of Festus and all her friends at Festus Manor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband; Carl Bonds; daughter: Rita Ann Carey; and brothers: Red (Roe) Meyer and Robert 'Bob" Meyer and sisters: Dorothy "Dot" (Johnny) Jacober and Adele (Dayne) Eads. Michael J. Lauber, 67, of DeSoto, entered into rest on November 28, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born November 18, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio; he was the son of the late Norbert and Evelyn Lauber. He is survived by his wife, "Sue" (Kempff) Lauber of DeSoto. Michael was an auto worker for Chrysler Corporation. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a very good craftsman. Mr. Lauber is survived by his wife, a daughter Chandra (Jarrod) Fraser of Chicago, Il; two brothers: David Lauber of Florida and Christopher Lauber of Michigan; three grandsons: Michael (Ali) Fraser of Imperial, Alex Fraser and Joshua Fraser, both of Chicago, Il. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol. Father Alex Anderson will be officiating the mass.

Sheri L. (Haynes) Lopez, 38, of Indianapolis, IN passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at her residence. Born March 20, 1972, in Hannibal, MO to Kathryn (Gottman) Smiley of Marionville, MO and the late Charles M. Haynes. She worked as a clerical manager. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: Juan Carlos Lopez of Indianapolis, IN; sons: Sean Taylor and Adam Taylor of Beardstown, IL; daughter: R'Enna Lopez of Indianapolis, IN; stepfather: James Smiley of Marionville, MO; stepmother: Tammie Haynes of Festus, MO; brother: Charles Haynes of Ste Genevieve, MO; sisters: Stacy Haynes and Sabrina Haynes of Marionville, MO; and aunt and uncle: Chris and Billie Haynes of Festus, MO. Visitation is Monday, December 6 from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home in Indianapolis, IN with service at 1pm. Cassandra Marie “Cassie” Bader, age 27 of Bonne Terre, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born June 1, 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Anthony Bader of Bonne Terre and the late Denise Elaine (nee Belfield) Bader, 1/6/2008.  In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by grandparents Carla Jean Corbitt, Howard Belfield and August Eugene (Sue survives) Bader and an aunt Margaret Bader. She is survived by a brother, Cody A. Bader of Festus, Missouri, grandparents Beatrice M. Belfield of Festus, uncles Gary (Kelly) Belfield of  Phoenix, Arizona, Ron (Carol) Belfield of DeSoto, Missouri, Dennis (Verna) Belfield of Festus, Mike Bader of Portland, Oregon and Billy Bader of Festus.
