Patrick J. Downs, Sr., age 74, De Soto, MO, passed away October 1, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, MO. He was a self-employed contract mail carrier. Born October 15, 1935 in Roselle, MO, he was the son of the late Rufus and Elizabeth (nee Zoleman) Downs. He is survived by his wife Rita (nee Petsch) Downs; Children: Kaye (Stan) Axley, De Soto, MO and Patrick (Pam) Downs, De Soto, MO; Brother:  Francis Downs, Florissant, MO; Sister: Gladys Morris, Litchfield, IL.;  Grandchildren: 7 and Great-Grandchildren:  5. Preceded in death by siblings: Howard Downs, Herbert Downs, Lena Hicks, Wilma Puckett, Bettie Hammon, Glenda Schoettle, Marie Hopkins and infant sister, Doris Downs. There was a private service. Janet Halene Lambert, age 56 of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born April 30, 1954 in Cairo, Illinois the daughter of the late Willie Lynzi Wicker and Barbara Jean (nee Calhoon) Wicker of Anniston, Missouri.  In addition to her father she is preceded in death by a sister who died in infancy Alma Grace Wicker.  In addition to her mother she is survived by sisters Sandra K. (Tommy) Woodruff, Bardwell, Kentucky, Billie D. Morris of Sikeston, Missouri, Darla J. (Jerry) Ray of Festus and Martha (Jack) Nelson of Wisconsin;  brothers Willie L. (Jana) Wicker of East Prairie, Missouri, Larry “Frankie” (Melinda) Wicker of Sikeston, Missouri, special aunt Halene DeLeon of East Prairie, Missouri, goddaughter Brooklyn Portell and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Festus where she was a Sunday School and Children’s Church Leader, also an outreach Sunday School Teacher at the Magnolia Home in Festus.  She was a Social Worker for the Jefferson County Division of Family Services. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus and then in state at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2010 at Calvary Assembly of God Church with services at 1:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Fayrene Potts, age 81 of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at Hillcrest Care Center, DeSoto, Missouri.  She was born October 23, 1928 in Rosebud, Arkansas the daughter of the late Clifford  and Iva (nee Edwards) Pruitt.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Luther A. Potts, 4/27/1998, 3 Sisters and 2 Brothers. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Kay (Dennis) Marler of Pacific, Missouri, Judy Faye Potts of DeSoto, Missouri, sons Luther Albert (Connie) Potts of DeSoto and Terry A. (Glenda) Potts of Festus, Missouri, grandchildren Daniel Watkins, Jessica (Todd) Dettlind, Fallon Potts, Tom Marler, Chris Marler, Shannon (Tim) Lucas and Justin O’Toole; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Watkins, Kylee Dettlind, Skyler Dettlind and Ethan Lucas.  She is also survived by sisters Lorene (King) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Verdie Eaker of Kokomo, Indiana and Davona Davis of Kokomo. Barbara J. (Lowry) Dotterweich, 70, entered into rest Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her Imperial residence. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling and embroidering. Born November 5, 1939, in Kennett, Missouri, to the late William and Viola (Schuff) Lowry. She is survived by her loving family which included her husband, Edmond Dotterweich; sons: Joe Frank of DeSoto and Edmond "E.J." Dotterweich II of Imperial; daughters: Angie DeBerry of Imperial and Lisa (Joe) Hoffman of Marissa, Illinois; brother, Raymond Lowry of Kennett; sister, Marie Humphrey of Warrenton; and special hospice nurses: Christina and Michelle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Lowry. A memorial service will be held in Indiana.

Politte and Norma M. (nee Evans) Politte of Herculaneum, Missouri.  In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband John B. Pashia of Pevely, four sons, James L. (Candace) Pashia of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, John F. (Rebecca) Pashia of Affton, Missouri, Jason P. (Sarah) Pashia of Fenton, Missouri and Jarrod R. (Tiffany) Pashia of Hillsboro, Missouri.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Evan J. Pashia and Addison E. Pashia both of Fenton, brothers Jimmie R. (Pamela) Politte of Pevely, Jeff (Andrea) Politte of Anamosa, Iowa, sisters, Janice (Richard) Mahew, Jr. of Apollo Beach, Florida and Joyce (Dennis) Siliven of Herculaneum. Betty Mae Siebert, age 82 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City.  She was born December 30, 1927 at Kaskaskia Island, Illinois the daughter of the late George and Mary (nee Gendron) Heob.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Lester Martin Siebert, 1/22/2010, brothers Sylvester (the late Eunice) Heob, Lloyd George (the late LaVerne) Heob, Elmer Heob, Clifford Heob and sisters Agnes Link, Dora Heob and Mabel Heob. She is survived by a daughter Vicki (Don) McGraw, sons Kim (Diana) Siebert and Mark (Terri) Siebert all of Festus, Missouri.  She is also survived by grandchildren Shannon (Chad) Helms, Jessica McGraw, Dane (Natalie) McGraw, Nathan (Elsie) Siebert, Michael, Daniel, Amber, Kristin and Kyle Siebert; great-grandchildren Breanna Williams and Gage Michael McGraw. Delores “Pickie” Davis-Grass, age 88 of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born December 24, 1921 in Crystal City the son of the late Edward and Martha (nee Pearman) Heob.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn H. Davis, 6/8/74 and LeRoy E. Grass, 5/14/87, a brother Ernest Heob, sisters Cora (the late Francis) McClanahan, Irene (the late Charles) Grogg, Carolyn Mary Heob and Gladys (Leroy “Zeke” survives) Pruneau.  She is survived by a daughter Tana (John) Meinhardt of Festus, a granddaughter Brooke (Matt) Weyand, and sisters Loretta “Lou” (Norval) Buenniger of Danby, Missouri and Lois Schwab of Crystal City. She was a member of Plattin United Methodist Church, Festus and the VFW Post #3777 Ladies Auxiliary. Sizemore, age 82 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City.  She was born May 23, 1928 in Lonoke, Arkansas the daughter of the late Guy Benjamin and Genevieve Marie (nee Woodley) Weare.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Elmer Sizemore, her son Jimmie Sizemore, 9/2/10 and 2 sisters. She is survived by Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was a Retired Seamstress at Co-Ed Garment Factory and a member of First Baptist Church of Horine, Pevely, Missouri. Barbara Jean French, age 66 of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born September 21, 1944 in Chester, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Charles and Jean (nee Jastrzenski) Starr.  She is survived by her husband Harry French of Festus, a daughter Sharon (Christopher) Losh of Bonne Terre, Missouri, two sons Dennis French of Festus and Kevin French of St. Louis, Missouri, a brother Charles B. Starr of Boston, Massachusetts and a sister Dawn Vreeland of Clayton, Delaware.  In addition she is survived by 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitln and Rhiannon Losh and 3 great-grandchildren, Charlie Rudolph, Jorgia Losh and Sabastian Losh. Joseph R. Bruenderman, 73, Festus, passed away on October 9, 2010 at his residence. Born October 10, 1936 in Cairo, Illinois; he was the son of the late Raymond and Louise (nee Carlisle) Bruenderman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (nee Glenn) Bruenderman. Joseph was a self-employed salesman in home goods. He was a big sports fan, loved watching the Cardinals Baseball games and Nascar racing. Mr. Bruenderman is survived by four daughters: Kimberly (Michael) West, St. James, MO, Pamela (Tom) Hines, Homedale, Idaho, Alma (Gene Davenport) Bevel, Scottsboro, MO and Sherri Light, Festus,MO; three brothers: Donald Bruenderman, Charleston, MO, John (Sandy) Bruenderman of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Bill (Ann) Bruenderman, Pana, Illinois; two sisters: Mary Ellen (Mark) Hails, Evansville, Indiana and Rose Ann (Terry) Nadler, Fenton, MO; seven grandchildren: Chris, Aaron, Gwen, Samantha, Andy, Allen and Joey; five great-grandchildren: Shana, Hailey, Alyssa, Brandon and Austin. Mass will be officiated by Father Alex Anderson.

David Gerard Venz, age 51 of Fayetteville, Arkansas, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, October 8, 2010 at the North Hills Life Care and Rehabilitation Center, Fayetteville.  He was born October 19, 1959 in Festus the son of Rita T. (nee Wurm) Venz of Festus and the late Russell Ferdinand Venz. He was preceded in death by a brother Russell Venz and a sister- in- law Paula Venz. Nancy “Jean” Baty, age 62, of Elsberry, Missouri passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, Missouri.  She was born October 9, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Homer Owsley, Jr. and Kathryn Joyce (nee Vinyard) McKee of Reno, Nevada.  In addition to her mother she is survived by daughters Amey Jean (Al) Baty-Tamagni of Anchorage, Alaska, Jennifer Carolyn (Dave) Baty-Kellen, St. Louis, Missouri and son  Michael Christian (Brandyn Denico) Baty of Virginia, two brothers David Homer (Patrice) Owsley of Aurora, Colorado and Keith Stewart (Lisa) Owsley of Lake Jackson, Texas.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kristina, Meghan and Amanda Tamagni, Alyson Dale Baty, Katelyn Delena Hatcher, Tami, Max and Matthew Kellen. Mary Lou  (Propst) Lucas, 79, passed away Oct 11, 2010 at her Festus residence. She was born Nov 4, 1930, in Sedgwickville, MO, to the late Lester and Mollie (Statler) Propst. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Lucas. Survived by a son: Lloyd (Mary Alice) Lucas; and two daughters: Rae Lynn (Rev. Michael) Hearst and Gloria (Cortland) Lowe; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Glen Selmar Brown, age 64 of Herculaneum, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born August 9, 1946 in Iron County, Missouri the son of the late John S. and Elsie V. (nee Browers) Brown.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Fay Brown. He is survived by his wife Janet “Princess” (nee Jeffries) Brown of Herculaneum, daughters Patty (Tom) Nahlik of Cuba, Missouri, Stephanie (Dan) Potter of House Springs, Missouri and Theresa (Paul) Staryak of Fenton, Missouri. He is also survived by grandchildren Amanda Pruett, Katie Pruett, Christofer Yeager, Ian Storie, Trina Potter, Dominique Staryak, Jeff Potter, Eli Storie, Anna Nahlik and great-grandchildren, Noah Marz and Jayden Nelson. Davis Buchanan Fite, age 92, of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born September 23, 1918 in Fort Worth, Texas the son of the late Frank J. and Geraldine (nee Sewell) Fite.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother James Sewell Fite, sisters Lillian Davis, Eveleen, Francis Elizabeth Smith, Geraldine Hargrove, Lillie Mae Fite, Norma Alma Fite and Betty Jane Powell.  He is survived by his wife Irene L. (nee Vest) Fite of Festus, a son James “David” (the late Carolyn) Fite of Herculaneum, Missouri, and a daughter Ellen L. Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, brothers Daniel Patrick Fite of Houston, Texas and Keaton (Evelyn R.) Fite of Valley Park, Missouri.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Kelley, Carl, Danielle and Denise and six great-grandchildren. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, Missouri, Life Member and Past Commander of VFW Post #3777, member of American Legion Post #253, a 50 year member of the Carpenters Union, longtime area merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and former Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop #670, member of Plattin Boat Club and World War II “Greatest Generation”.  He was a World War II Army Veteran of the South Pacific Theatre. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Friday, October 15, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Festus/Crystal City, Missouri followed by services at 10:00 A.M. officiated by Rev. He was the retired Owner/Operator of Wrightway Haulers and served in the United States Army. John M. “Jack” Fox, age 87 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born December 16, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Olive (nee Harding) Fox and John Michael Fox, Sr. He is survived by his wife Nadine (nee Pelak) Fox of Festus, daughters Theresa (Harry) Barnes of Festus, Cecilia (Rick) Gaddy of Festus and Patricia (Tony) Ham of Mesa, Arizona, a son Michael (Linda) Fox of Festus, 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was a member of Church of Our Lady where he was President of the Men’s Club and longtime usher.  He was a member of the VFW Post #3777, American Legion Post #253, Knights of Columbus Council #1230, Longtime member and avid pigeon racer with the High Ridge Pigeon Club; longtime merit badge counselor with the Boy Scouts of America; Past President of Jefferson County Stamp Club; Life member of the Telephone Pioneers and Three Rivers Chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society. She was born January 19, 1924, in Vineland Missouri to the late Simon and Rena (Politte) Boyer. She is survived by her son: Richard "Rick" (Angela) Rosener of DeSoto, a daughter: Jacqueline "Jackie" (Patrick) Tinnin of Festus, 3 grandchildren: Janet, Jennifer and James and 5 great grandchildren: Gabby, Clayton, Morgan, Hannah and Chelsie. Pratt, of St. Charles; sons: Timothy and James Carey of DeSoto; daughter: Kim Pratt of DeSoto, grandchildren: Ayden and Chayse; brother: Scott Carey of New York City; mother-in-law: Linda Winston of Wentzville; and father-in-law: Don Jackson of Illinois. Jeffrey enjoyed motocycles and loved his family very much.

He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Micke worked on the loading docks for Macy's retail department store. He survived by a son Gary Wayne (Candace) Micke of DeSoto; two daughters: Sara (Randy) Henson of Potosi and Patricia (Matthew) Eckhoff also of Potosi; three brothers: Larry (Carol) Micke, Raymond Micke and Glennon (Debra) Micke all of DeSoto, MO; one sister, Ruth Micke of DeSoto and four grandchildren.

Kristopher R. Van Meter, 25, of St. Louis passed away on October 25, 2010 as the result of a duck hunting accident. He was born August 5, 1985 in St. Louis; he was the son of Larry Van Meter of DeSoto and Karen (nee Ratty) Hografe of Fenton. Kristopher was a construction worker for CPR Construction Company. He was an avid softball player and was a good musician and singer. In addition to his parents he is survived by his girlfriend, Megan Carrow of St. Louis; step-mother, Nancy Van Meter; step-father, David Hografe of Fenton; a son: Aidan Compton, St. Louis; grandparents, Tom Murray, Vernon and Rose Ann Ratty and Harold & Geraldine Hografe; and a sister, Bridgett Van Meter of DeSoto. Born July 11, 1959 in Crystal City; she was the daughter of Edwin Duing of DeSoto and Ann (nee Duro) Ems of Hematite. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James R. Davis of Cadet. Edna had served in the US Air Force as a 1st LT. She was a nurse for Alere in St. Louis, MO. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Eva Louise (nee Cage) Skaggs, step-mother Cleda (nee Strobel) Koehler-Skaggs and his step-brother William E. (Shirley survives) Koehler. Hall, 96 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born January 16, 1914 in Festus, the daughter of the late Luci (nee Jenni) and James Newel Hall, Sr. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth “Alberta” Hall,  brother James N. Hall, Jr., sister-in-law Dorothy Hall and a nephew David N. Hall.  She is survived by a nephew Michael J. Hall and wife Renee of Merced, California and a great-niece Andrea Hall. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Festus and the former vice-president of the Citizens Bank of Festus and later, Commerce Bank of Festus from which she retired. Visitation at First Presbyterian Church of Festus after 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2010 with services at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Elizabeth “Betty” LaBrier, 87 of Crystal City, Missouri died October 27, 2010 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Florissant, Missouri.  She was born October 21, 1923 at Ava, Illinois the daughter of the late Vivian (nee Stone) and Rufus A. Fults.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William “Specks” LaBrier, Jr., two sons William A. LaBrier III and Charles Albert LaBrier and a brother Rufus A. Fults.  She is survived by two grandchildren Amanda M. La Brier and William Andrew LaBrier, both of St. Louis, Missouri and a sister-in-law Betty Fults of Ava, Illinois. She was a veteran of the U.S. navy having served in WWII and a member of  Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City.  She was a Registered Nurse, had worked for Mountainview Nursing Home and Barnes-Jewish Medical Center and was co-owner/operator of Crystal City Auto Body with her husband. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Missouri starting at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 30, 2010 with funeral services at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev.
