She was born October 5, 1928, Huntsville, MO to her parents, the late Charles and Emma L. (nee Kruse) Bayles. She is survived by her husband, Carl D. Marie C. Skiles, 82, DeSoto, entered into rest on September 1, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of DeSoto and she enjoyed dancing and traveling. She was born September 1, 1928 in Illinois. Survived by her loving husband, Henry D. Skiles of DeSoto; step-sons: Bob Holder, Jay Holder, Henry (Charlotte) Skiles of DeSoto, Bob (Margaret) Skiles of North Carolina and Jim (Brenda) Skiles of Cadet, MO; step-daughters: Mary Lou Holder of Olympian Village, Linda (Willis) Allen of Hillsboro, Glenda Crockett of Fairview Heights, IL and Betty (Donald) Missey of Cadet; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Skiles was preceded in death by her first husband, Arte Holder; parents, Carl and Ernestine (Nee Bodendeck) Anderson; son John Holder, step-son Gary Skiles and step-daughter, Bonnie Lohman. Rev. Born on Oct. 17, 1963 in Crystal City, MO, she was the daughter of the late Levi & Glenda (nee Gray) Hendricks, Jr. She is survived by her children: Laura (Jarrod) Stokes – Bloomsdale, Matthew De Clue – Cameron, MO; Sisters: Carolyn Akins – De Soto, MO, Annette Pigg – De Soto, MO; Brothers: Charles Hendricks – Dittmer, MO, Ronald Hendricks – De Soto, MO and Daniel Hendricks – De Soto, MO. Harold Frederick “Pop” Weeks, age 85 of Pevely, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born August 2, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Charles and Blanche (nee Anderson) Weeks.  In addition to this parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jeanette (nee Lea) Weeks, his sister Helen Weeks and his brother Charles (Catherine survives) Weeks. He is survived by a daughter, Lynda L. (Bill Herbst) Brand of St. Louis, Missouri, a son Pevely Police Chief Ron (Debbie) Weeks, Pevely, grandchildren Jennifer (Chuck) Parks, Kimberly (Steve) Beranek and Timothy Weeks, a great-grandson Dylan Beranek, sisters Jean (the late Kenneth) Carnell of St. Charles County, Missouri, Patricia (the late Bill) Hart, Staunton, Illinois, and a brother Gerald (Joan) Weeks, St. Louis County, Missouri. In addition he is survived by special friends Sid Odell, Darla Stueve, Susie Kaltenbronn and Mary Ellis. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a retired Mail Clerk for Terminal Railroad and after retiring he was a school bus driver for the Sheltered Workshop in Troy.  He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely, Missouri and was a member of VFW Post #3777. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Missouri.  Funeral Services Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Mart Thompson, Zion Lutheran Church, Pevely.  Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Normandy, Missouri.  Memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Charles "Ivan" Beers entered into rest on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Beers was born on November 8, 1940, in Palmer, Missouri, to the late Don and Gladine (Mason) Beers. He survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty J. ( Parker)and son, Robert "Rob" (Sabrina) Beers of DeSoto; brother, Ray (Lynn) Beers of Viburnum; sisters: Lillian (Ellis) Midgett of DeSoto, Fay King of Owensville, Kay (David) Nicks of Gerald; grandchildren: Jeannie, Lisa, Valerie, Morgan, Damian, and Geannie; and great grandchildren: Paige and Dominic. He is preceded in death by, his son Charlie Beers, Jr.,brother, Earlen Beers, and sister, Betha Hill. Ivan enjoyed playing video games, loved working in his garage, and loved reading. David Ray Crady, 45, entered into rest Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at his Festus residence. He had previously worked as a dumptruck driver for Custom Asphalt & Paving. Born August 9, 1965, in Festus, Missouri, to the late Jack Crady and Nancy "June" (Marshall) Crady of Pevely. He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Lisa (Whitehead) Crady; sons: Kyle Crady of Festus and Tyler Crady of DeSoto; daughter, Danielle Crady of St Charles; step-daughters: Kandace (Charles Haynes) Whitehead of Ste Genevieve and Ashley Henderson of Festus; brother, Tommy Crady of DeSoto; sisters: Billene (Chris "Ed") Haynes of Festus and Tammie (Richard Esch) Haynes of Festus; and grandchildren: Adrienne, Kaitlyn, Yasmine and Charlie. He enjoyed music, playing the drums, singing and he was a race car/Jeff Gordon fan. Pastor Randy Gray will officiate service.

Evelyn M. Stewart, 83, entered into rest Monday, September 6, 2010 at St Joe Manor, Bonne Terre, MO. She had worked as an information desk supervisor at Malcolm Bliss Hospital. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and crocheting. Born July 7, 1927, in Bonne Terre, MO, to the late Andrew and Anna (Sikorski) Bashista. She is preceded in death by her husband, M. Clifford Stewart. She is survived by her loving family which includes a son, Michael (Nancy) Stewart of Olathe, KS; daughters: Mary (Graham) MacKenzie of St Louis and Margaret (Allen) Lawless of Moberly, MO; brothers: Andrew (Janet) Bachista of Hawaii and Ron Bachesta of St Peters, MO; sister, Eleanor Goff of Bonne Terre, MO; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Verna Mae Whiteaker, 89, of Festus, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center. She was a retired beautician and real estate agent. Born March 22, 1921 in Fredericktown, Missouri, one of eight children of the late Felix and Laura (Sikes) Pogue. After her marriage to Eugene Whiteaker, she operated a beauty salon in Farmington, Missouri and raised their three children. She later lived in Arnold, Missouri and worked as a realtor while Eugene managed Midwest Gas Company. In addition to these careers, Verna was a seamstress having designed and sold original garments. In retirement she enjoyed painting and spending time with family, friends and members of her church.
In addition to her parents, Verna was proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eugene, and six siblings: Rosa Kitchen, Thelma (Aslinger) Ridgon, Nina Sigman, Golda Koen, Eugene Pogue and Roy Pogue. She is survived by her son: Michael (Kristina) Whiteaker of Imperial; daughters: Rosetta (Roger) Hagan of Festus and Dianna (Glenn) Eisenbeis of Festus; sister, Marge (Richard) Lewis of Florida, sister-in-law, Gladys (Buck) Myers of Fredericktown, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Chris (Linda) Hagan, Jon (Stacy) Eisenbeis, Janel (Jonathon) Schnurr all of Festus, MO, Cary (Julie) Hagan of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Jason Eisenbeis of Crystal City, Sean (Tonya) Whiteaker and Kara Bauer of Imperial and Anthony Whiteaker of Arnold; and 13 great grandchildren. Dianne M. Mullich, 51, of DeSoto, entered into rest on September 8, 2010 at her residence. Born in St. Louis on October 3, 1958; she was the daughter of the late Chester and Rosemary (nee Schwab) Naramore. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Edward Mullich. Dianne was a member of the Cadet Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, loved her children and grandchildren; enjoyed antiquing, fishing, camping and motorcycle riding. Survived by a son, Edward Mullich of DeSoto, three daughters: Amy Mullich of DeSoto, Dawn Mullich of St. Peters, and Diana Mullich of Dayton, TN; a brother, Dale (Charlie) Naramore of DeSoto; and a sister, Anita (Marty) Posgay of St. Louis. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Donna McRaven. Rev. John Jones will officiate the service.

Clay Leo Barnhart, age 96 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born October 25, 1913 in Vienna, Missouri the son of the late James and Effie (nee Krone) Barnhart.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Katherine (nee Birkmann) Barnhart, sisters Lillian and Augusta Pendelton, brothers Ray, Barney, Ivan, Ellis and Glenn Barnhart.  He is survived by daughters Linda (Jerry) Downing of Springfield, Missouri, Nancy (Mark) Patterson of Crystal City, sons Dennis Barnhart of Springfield and Jim Barnhart of Hillsboro, Missouri, grandchildren Jeff Downing, Jason (Andrea) Downing, John (Kayla) Barnhart, Julie (John) Osdieck, Emily (Nathan) Gulczynski, Ben (Regina) Barnhart, Rosalynn Barnhart, Ryan (Kelly) Patterson, Adam (Shannon) Patterson, Evan (Andrea) Patterson, Ross Patterson.  In addition he is survived by 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and close friends. He was a World War II Army Veteran, retired Owner/Operator of Mill Street Market in Festus, Missouri, member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crystal City and a Life Time Member of Toastmasters. Murray.  In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (nee Thompson) Murray, a great-granddaughter Kamryn O. VanDeVen and a brother Jack (Lee survives) Murray. He was a retired mechanic from St Joe Lead and was a Air Guard/US Navy WW II veteran. Born May 17, 1928, in Horine, Missouri, to the late Ben and Martha (Lattimore) Woodland. He is survived by his loving family which includes sons: David W. (Mary Ann) Woodland of Potosi and Dennis (Vicki) Woodland of Houston, TX; daughters: Karen (Raymond) Lord of Crystal City, Connie (Bob) Gamble of Pevely, Penny (Mike) Ritchie of DeSoto; brothers: Leon (Kay) Woodland of Watson, IL and Bob (Ruby) Woodland of Festus; sister, Peggy Guidorzi of Festus; grandchildren: Rene, David, Robert, Eric, David, Gary, Bonnie, Ellen and Michael;and great grandchildren: Haley, Hannah, Carter, Justin, Gavin, Adam, Macy, Dominick, David, Heather, Abbi,, Ethan, Nick and Angela. Maggie Emily Jan Fowler, age 76 of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born February 19, 1934 in Old Mines, Missouri the daughter of the late Harrison William and Lottie Violet (nee Boyster) Stuthers.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jamie and Brian Fowler, sisters Edna (the late Clifford) Mitchell, Ellie Stuthers, brothers Edward Stuthers, William (Cora) Stuthers, Otis (Cordia survives) Stuthers and Roy (the late Helen) Stuthers.  She is survived by daughters Vonda (David) Crader of Crystal City, Jolene (Courtney) Moreland, Festus, sons Roger and James Fowler both of Festus, sisters Marie (Lorell) Alpin of Arnold, Missouri, Susie (Paul) Warden of Farmington, Missouri, Linda (the late Gerald “Zeke”) Stanfill, Festus, a brother Carl (Rachael) Stuthers, Festus.  She is also survived by grandchildren Kelly (Kevin) Brown, DeSoto, Missouri, Amanda (Zachary) Cook, Festus, Stacy Moreland, Festus and great-grandchildren, Dylan Fowler, Taylor and Ashton Brown, Ethan and Erich Cook. Della Mae Keys, age 73 of Barnhart, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis County, Missouri.  She was born December 24, 1936 in Corning, Arkansas the daughter of the late Will and Della (nee Ray) Rogers.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Eugene Keys 4/9/99, a son Earl Mark Keys, brothers Roy (Louise survives) Rogers and Jessie Rogers, sisters Olliemay (Ervin survives) Scherrer, Catherine (the late Vess) Eldridge, Idabell (the late Virgil) Causey.  She is survived by brothers Coy (Mary) Rogers, Dale (Sherrie) Rogers and Raleigh Rogers all of Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice Hill, age 81 of O’Fallon, Missouri formerly of Pevely, Missouri passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Delmar Gardens in O’Fallon.  She was born August 21, 1929 in Flat River, Missouri the daughter of the late William Thomas and Cora F. (nee Lamberson) Cochran.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sisters Thelma Stout, Muriel Dement, Helen Johnson and a brother Ed Cochran. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Hill of O’Fallon, daughters Carol (Don) Bolazina of Ballwin, Missouri, Becky (Steve) Laupp of Pevely, Missouri, Kim (Gary) Kohler of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri and Debbie Daugherty of Pevely, sons David Hill of St. Louis, Missouri, Brent (Connie) Hill of Festus, Missouri, Mark Hill of Crystal City, Missouri and Scott (Becky) Hill of Florissant, Missouri.  She is also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Jerry Lee Recar, 64, Bonne Terre passed away on September 17, 2010 at his home.  Mr. Recar was a carpenter.  Born October 21, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bernard and Helen (Strauser) Recar. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pam (Grinnell) Recar of Bonne Terre; a son, Donald (Natalie) Recar of DeSoto; a grandson, Brandon Recar of DeSoto; a brother, Kenneth Recar of Festus; and three sisters: Betty (Joe) Sparks of DeSoto, Terry (John) Dean of Blackwell and Penny Craig of Valle Mines. Funeral services were held September 21, 2010 at Mahn Funeral Home, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson.  Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis, 63108.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.

Helen Kathryn Church, age 98 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City.  She was born August 14, 1912 in Crystal City the daughter of the late Peter and Sarah (nee Bachmann) Reheisse.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Leo E. Church, 5/2/60.  She is survived by daughters Mary F. (William “Bill”) Lauman, Summerfield, Florida and Catherine (John) Ahl of Poulsbo, Washington, grandchildren Elizabeth Ahl of Holderness, New Hampshire, Andrew Ahl of Seattle, Washington and Katie (Chris) Shad of Festus, Missouri. Mrs. Church served the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in many capacities for many years, Clerical, Deputy and even Sheriff.  When her husband Sheriff Leo E. Church was killed in an automobile accident she was appointed as Sheriff by Gov. Warren Hearnes.  She was the only female to serve as sheriff in Jefferson County and the first in the State of Missouri.  She was a 19 year member of the Crystal City Police Board; charter member of the Crystal City Historical Society and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon (Rowland) Biggs, 65, DeSoto, passed away on September 22, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  Sharon was the daughter of  the late Lennie H and Valle E (nee Barbaro) Rowland in St. Louis on November 12, 1944. She is survived by her loving family, a brother, Rev. Melvin (Barbara) Rowland of Ironton; three sisters, Margie (William) Beckley of St Peters, Geneva Ross of DeSoto and Joyce Witte of DeSoto.  She is also survived by her loving dog,  Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael Biggs, two brothers, Lennie G. Rowland and Fred Worth. Sharon was a graphic designer for Boeing Corporation; a member of the Arnold First Baptist Church and she loved her animals.  Her nephew, Rev. Randy Pogue will officiate the funeral services. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Clemmons, age 85 of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born June 28, 1925 at Piedmont, Missouri the daughter of the late Lee and Dora (nee Kiger) Eads.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, J. Paul Clemmons, 6/4/1979, 2 grandchildren Trina Brooks and Ricky Brooks, a sister Gladys Howard and a brother Arthur Eads.  She is survived by a daughter Carol Crowley of East Prairie, Missouri, sons Randall “Randy” (Frances) Clemmons and Ronald (Connie) Clemmons both of Festus, a sister Mabel Snider of Piedmont, Missouri, grandchildren:  Pamela Collier, Cynthia (Bob) Arb, Amber (Bob) Martin, Travis Clemmons and Tim Brooks; Great-grandchildren, Stephanie Kennedy, Wesley Kennedy, Caleb Arb, Michael Arb, Timothy Brooks, Brandon Brooks and Alexis Loomes, great-great grandchildren; Bianca White and Jaylynn Kennedy. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus with services at 1:00 P.M. Benjamin Thompson, age 70, of Imperial, Missouri passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at his residence.  He was born August 30, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Benjamin Cleo and Mary Lucille (nee Hipps) Thompson.  He is survived by his wife Karen N. (nee Miller) Thompson of Imperial, a daughter Kelly Dawn (Peter) Hunter of House Springs, Missouri, a son Benjamin Ransom Thompson of Imperial, brother Marshall Cleo (Brenda) Thompson of Scott City, Missouri and 2 grandchildren, Kevan Joseph and Krysta Lucille Hunter. He was a mechanic at Suntrup Automotive and a member of the South Side Division of the Conservation Federation of Missouri. Private Family Services were held.

Bay, age 57, of DeSoto, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born December 3, 1952 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, the daughter of Ronald and Ina (nee Ives) Jarvis of Pevely, Missouri.  In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bay of DeSoto, a daughter Elizabeth Ruth Bay and a son Joseph Wayne Bay both of DeSoto. She is also survived by brothers Jeffery (Denise) Jarvis of Lebanon, Missouri, Richard (Penny) Jarvis of Pevely, sisters Jena Green of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Kerry Jarvis of Pevely. She was a member of Horine Baptist Church, Horine, Missouri.  Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, Pevely, Missouri with services at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Peterein, age 88 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born July 30, 1922 in Festus the daughter of the late James Hal and Nora Mary (nee Cruz) McCormack.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Peterein, a daughter Judy Woodland, a sister Beulah (the late Joe) Curry, brothers Orville (Rose survives) McComack and  Roy J. (Virginia survives) McComack.  She is survived by daughters Darlene (David) Waggoner, Hawk Point, Missouri, Shelby Jean (Scott) Shy, Cabot, Arkansas, Sharon K. (Dave, Sr.) Smith of Festus and Brenda (Monte) Sinclair of Woodstock, Georgia.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, David Smith, Jr., Denise (Keith) Grass, Danny (Donna) Sinclair, Rebecca Waggoner, Nathan Sinclair, Gabriel Sinclair, Luke Peterein, great-grandchildren; Cody and Nicholas Grass, Jewell Sinclair, sisters; Irma (the late Clayton “Pug”) Maupin of Herculaneum, Missouri, Imogene (the late Carl “Bud”) Jones, Festus and two brothers Jack (the late Donna) McCormack, Festus and Kenneth (Sharon “Pops”) McCormack of Batesville, Arkansas. She was the owner/operator of Peterein’s Hilltop Pool and also worked at PPG and White Rogers.  She was a member of Church of Our Lady in Festus, VFW Post #3777 Ladies Auxiliary and the “Jefferson County Squares” Dancing Club. Esther Anna Margaret French, age 93 passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born June 21, 1917 in Pevely, Missouri the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mathilda (nee Schraerer) Johnston.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband George French, 1/10/07, sisters Leona Aubuchon and Johanna H. Johnston and brothers Oran B. Johnston and Oliver H. Johnston. She is survived by daughters Veronica (David) Schoults and Donna Dollar both of Festus, sons Robert (Gayle) French of Crystal City, Dale (Carol) French and Steve French of Festus and Barry (Lori) French of DeSoto, Missouri.  She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren; 33 Great-Grandchildren, a brother Monty (Eileen) Johnston of French Village, Missouri and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. Deborah L. Danback, 42, of Desloge, passed away in Festus on September 30,2010. She was a nurses aid, loved sprint car races, coloring and spending time with family. Born February 8, 1968 in Festus; she was the daughter of the late Lloyd J. and Alice (Bourbon) Danback. Deborah is survived by four brothers: Lloyd (Becky) Danback of Potosi, Ron (Darleen) Danback of St. Louis, Mike (Jessica) Danback of Richwoods and Keith Danback of Richwoods; two sisters: Hope (Chris) Walker of Festus and Judy Oker of DeSoto; many relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Martin Oker, two nephews,Christopher Garrett, Jr., and Lucas Mann. Pastor Ron Rall will be officiating the memorial service.

Seabaugh, age 81 of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Festus Manor Nursing Center in Festus.  He was born July 11, 1929 in Perryville, Missouri the son of the late Lester Pervis and Trula Victoria (nee Seabaugh) Seabaugh. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Harold E. (Marilyn survives) Seabaugh and a sister Beatrice Jean Bauman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary (nee Moran) Seabaugh of Festus and two sons Curtis L. (David Sassman) Seabaugh of Crystal City, Missouri and Charles L. Seabaugh of Festus. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, Missouri, past board member of Jeffco Subcontracting; Jefferson County Commission for Handicapped; Past President of Disability Support System and member of American Legion Post #253.  He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and retired after 46 years from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. Visitation at 12:00 Noon Sunday, October 3, 2010 until time of service at 1:00 P.M. at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus officiated by Rev.
