age 79, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away August 1, 2011, at Hillcrest
Nursing Care Facility in De Soto, Missouri. He was a Carpenter for
Brockmiller Construction Co.; D.F. Mueller and Essex Commercial. Born
July 13, 1932 in Florissant, MO, he was the son of the late Asa O. and
Ethel B. (Siebles) Hedger. He is survived by his Wife Dorothy (Johnson)
Hedger, De Soto, MO; Children: Randy (Mary) Hedger, Festus, MO; Rick
(Sandee) Hedger, Jefferson City, MO, Rusty (Dawn) Hedger, Joplin, MO,
Lin-An (Don) Seals, Farmington, MO, Barbara (Randall) Allen, Oklahoma
City, OK; Grandchildren: 13 and Great-Grandchildren: 10. He was a Member

August 8, 1930 in Foggia, Italy, the daughter of the late Dominick and
Rose (nee DeMeo) Tarquinio.

Joseph Picarella, daughter-in-law, Susan Picarella, brother Giuseppe
Tarquinio and sister Iolanda Tarquinio. She is survived by a daughter,

Wednesday, August 03, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
She was born December 31, 1916 in DeSoto, Missouri the daughter of the
late Nicholas Henry and Effie Elba (nee Frazier) Decker. In addition to
her parents she is proceeded in death by her husband Philip Louis
Wamsganz, sisters Nelia (the late John) Thompson and Ida Mae (the late
John) Basler, brothers Alfred “Harvey” (the late Erma) Decker, Eugene
(the late Iva) Decker, Herzel “Pete” (the late Marie) Decker, Earl (the
late Clara) Decker and Clyde A. Decker, brother-in-law George Bange. She
is survived by sons Terry Wamsganz and wife Camille of St. Charles,
Missouri and Kirk Wamsganz and wife Janis of Wentzville, Missouri sister
Elba “Peggy” Bange of St. Charles and grandchildren Michael A. Wamsganz
and fiancé Deborah Kelli, Kristen Cantera and husband Dr. John, Eric Van

Pacific Railroad. Born September 3, 1913 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he
was the son of the late Joseph Gideon and Hattie Mae (nee Hogan) Freer.

Stella M. (nee Turley) Freer & the late Mildred “Millie” (nee Dodson)

She was born January 26, 1927 in Crystal City, Missouri, the
daughter of the late Rosie E. (nee Carron) and Gilbert John Moser. She
is survived by a sister Nira Moser of St. Louis, brothers Oliver John
Moser and wife Agnes of Festus, Missouri and Gilbert John Moser, Jr. and
wife Linda of Hillsboro, Missouri, a sister-in-law Verneda Moser of
Festus and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she
is preceded in death by sisters Marie Middleton and the late husband
David, Margaret Miller and the late husband Edward, Betty Ann Pullen,
and a brother Clifford J. Moser. She attended St. Simon the Apostle
Catholic Church in St. Louis and worked as a grocery sales clerk.

She was born October 6, 1926 in Herculaneum the daughter of the
late Omealia A. (nee McGuire) and Robert Anderson, Sr.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her
husband Arthur Earl McCoy, Sr. and a son Terry McCoy. She is survived by
a son Arthur McCoy, Jr. of DeSoto, Missouri, daughter Sandra McCoy of
Cahokia, grandchildren Kisha, who Minnie resided with and was like a
daughter, Arthur, Brandon, Scott, Tara and T.J., and great-grandchildren
Kyra and Symia Chestnutt and others. She had been a member of the Buren
Chapel A.M.E. church in Herculaneum, Daughters of Issies of the Order of
the Eastern Star, and the Lou Time Fan Club.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Des Peres, Missouri.
He was born February 28, 1945 in St. Louis the son of the late
Leona (nee Woods) and Elgin Taylor. He is survived by his wife,
Estrellita (nee Basa) Taylor, sons Michael Lee Taylor and wife Rachel of
Whitewright, Texas, David Basa Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri, daughters
Michelle Lee Mares and husband Steve of Austin, Texas and Cyndi Collins
and husband Ryan of Indiana.
He is also survived by sisters Dorothy Weier of Pevely, Missouri
and Shirley Nichols of Festus, a brother-in-law, Henry Lamb,
grandchildren Joseph, Kelly, Simon, America and Eli. He is preceded in

Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.
She was born December 5, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter
of Norman B. Schuh of Festus, and the late Norma (nee Coleman) Schuh.
She is survived by her husband Bill Faver and son Jason Faver both of
Festus, sisters Donna Marie Olinger and husband Larry of Festus and
Deborah Lynn Zumwalt and husband Steve of St. Louis, Missouri. She was a
member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and employed as a
secretary for 37 years at St. Pius X High School in Festus, a master
gardener and 4 time past president of the Hoe and Hope Garden Club, and
at the state level served as past south-east district director, past
state recording secretary, flower show award state chairman, flower show
school and symposia chairman, master judge and webmaster for the
Missouri Federation of Garden Clubs. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00

was born on September 21, 1954 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of
the late James Edward "Gene" Wickerham and Wanda (McKinnon) Wickerham
Boyer. He died on August 16, 2011 at Boone County Hospital in
Columbia, Missouri at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife, Donita
Wickerham of Bellflower, MO; his son, Jimmy (Jessica Zorns) Wickerham,

James S. Thorn, 50, of
DeSoto entered into rest on August 19, 2011 at the St. Anthony's de
Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. He was the son of the late
William and Amy (Sorensen) Thorn. He married his loving wife, Angela
(Pinson) Thorn on August 29, 1998 in St. Peters. Mr. Thorn was a cement
technician and welder for Holcim in Ste. Genevieve, MO; he enjoyed
racing, fishing and hunting and was a member of the First Freewill
Baptist Church of Richwoods. In addition to his wife, his survived by a
son, Stuart Thorn; a daughter, Jamie Thorn of DeSoto, MO; a step-son,
Brandon Birney and step-daughter, Alicia Pinson-Birney of DeSoto, MO;
two brothers: Steven (Ruth) Thorn of St. Peters, MO and David (Debbie)
Thorn of O'Fallon, MO; two sisters: Carol (William) Elstermeyer, St.
Charles, MO and Sharon (David) Campbell of Wentzville, MO. Rev. Wayne

Howard James Lucas, 89, of
DeSoto entered into rest on August 20, 2011. Born in Hematite, Missouri
on October 24, 1921; he was the son of the late George W. Lucas and
Marie E.(White) Lucas. He was a member of the National Guard in DeSoto
when they were mobilized in 1940; he served with the 90th Infantry
Division in the European Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart, four
Bronze Stars, as well as the Jubliee of Liberty Medal from France for
reclaiming the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day Invasion of World
War 2. Mr Lucas was a supervisor for the Federal Government of the
Mine's-Health and Safety for over 30 years. He was a member of the
DeSoto VFW Post 1831 and American Legion of Rolla, Missouri and was a
member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mr. Lucas married his
beloved wife, Georgia Ann (Reeves) Lucas on December 14, 1945 in Walnut
Ridge, Arkansas. He was the loving father of two daughters: Kay Kite of
DeSoto and Dee (Thomas) Forbush also of DeSoto; dear grandfather of
Kimberly (Marty) Elbl of Festus, Brian (Lisa) Forbush of Imperial and
Jeffery Forbush of DeSoto; dear great-grandfather Kaitlin and Lauren
Elbl of Festus and Autumn Carpenter of Imperial. He was preceded in
death by his parents, a brother, Edwin Lucas and a sister-in-law, Thelma
Lucas; a son-in-law Wayne Kite; father and mother-in-law, David and Eva
Reeves. MSGR Robert Jovanovic and Rev. Dennis Heck officiating the

Manor, Festus, MO. He was a retired Sheet Metal worker for
McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft; also drove a school bus for the Hillsboro
and Sunrise School Districts. He was born July 19, 1932 in Crump,
Missouri. He is preceded in death by his Parents: the late Vitalis
Franklin Stroder and Burl (nee Berry) Stroder, along with his Step

Earl L. Patton, 88, entered into rest on August 21, 2011 at his DeSoto
residence. Born September 4, 1922 in Fruitland, Iowa; he was the son of
the late Walter and Bertha (nee Lister) Patton. He is survived by his
beloved wife, Marcelena (Edgington) Patton, of whom he married June 30,
1948 in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Patton was a maintenance worker at Lake
Tishomingo. He is a veteran of World War II having served in the United
States Army and a member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge. In addition to
his wife he is survived by three daughters: Debborah Patton of DeSoto,
Darcella (Alan) Breuer of Palmyra, Missouri, and Dericia Ketcherside of
DeSoto; a brother, Wayne (Paula) Patton of Burlington, Iowa, a sister,
Lois (George) Kelly of Roseville, Illinois; eight grandchildren and
twenty great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his
parents; a son, Danial Patton; a son-in-law, Edward Ketcherside; three
brothers: Dennis Patton, Charles Patton and James Patton; and six
sisters: Gladys Snakenburg, Mary Kidder, Viola Poffenburger, Lena

Vincent Jude "Fly" Mahn, Age
74, formerly of DeSoto, entered into rest at his home in Sullivan on
Friday, August 26, 2011. Vince was born to the late Daniel John Mahn,
Sr. and Aurelia Catherine (Prendergast) Mahn on August 7, 1937 in
DeSoto, MO. He married his beloved wife, Shirley Ruth (Pierce) Mahn on
May 4, 1957 at St. Rose of Lima Church in DeSoto. Mr. Mahn was a member
of the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department and the Sullivan Fire
Department and a member of the Plumber's Local Union #35. He was one of
the first EMT's to be certified in Jefferson County, when the ambulance
system was operated out of Mahn Funeral Home. He loved St. Louis
Cardinal baseball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved to eat candy
and cookies while sitting in his "Bark-O-Lounger", but most of all, he
loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He
is survived by his wife: Shirley Ruth Mahn, son: Vincent Jeff (Marianne)
Mahn of San Diego, CA, daughters: Janet Mahn and Eva Decker of San
Diego, CA, Susan (Andy) Koppelmann of Leslie, MO, and Michelle (Larry
Rochoeau) Stubblefield of Sullivan, MO, brother: William (Irmalee) Mahn
of DeSoto; sisters: Mary Collins, Ellen Mahn, Margaret Parmeley all of

Charles Linel "Bud" Smalley,
82, entered into rest on August 29, 2011 in Barnhart, Missouri. He was
born November 3, 1928, in Brosley, Missouri; he was the son of the late
Robert and Rose (McNeal) Smalley. His wife, Nila Erlene (Hillis) Smalley
preceded him in death. Mr. Smalley owned and operated a greenhouse. He
was an electrician, gardener, woodworker, tv repairman who liked fishing
and hunting squirrels. Mr. Smalley is survived by his two daughters,
Charlett (Charles) Richards of DeSoto and Diana Shanks also of DeSoto;
five grandchildren: Bill, Becky (Dean), Laura, Jeff (Elizabeth) and Mike
(Rachel); eight great-grandchildren: Jordon, Blane, Ashton, Jadyn,
Gavin, Kaitlin, Brianna and Jessie. Besides his parents and his wife, he
was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Smalley and Junior

age 63 of Pevely, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at his
home in Pevely. He was born
June 2, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Bernice (nee
LaPorte) Martin-Allen and Doyle Martin.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother
Terry Martin. He is survived by his wife Madelin (nee Green) Martin, a
son Randal Martin of Pevely, a daughter Rhonda Martin of Pevely, two
grandchildren Randilynn and Samantha Martin, his mother-in-law Marie
Green of Pevely and many friends and extended family members. He was a
member of the Herculaneum United Methodist Church, a United States Army
Veteran from Vietnam, a mechanic from Doe Run Smelter Plant for 26 years
and a truck driver for Railworks in Bridgeton, Missouri for 10 years.
He was also a member of VFW Post #3777, American Legion Post
#253, Herculaneum AMVETS Post #156 and Elks Lodge #1721. Visitation at

Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born April 8, 1948 in Festus, Missouri the son of the late
Mildred Marie (nee DeClue) and Cletus “Jack” Pippin.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two
sister-in-laws, Shirley Pippin and Linda Pippin and a son-in-law Kent
Swart. He is survived by a dear friend Martha Doyle, daughters Mandie
Swart of Arnold, Missouri, Wendy Butler and husband Russell of Imperial,
Missouri, April Petrillo of Arnold and Martha Birdwell of Arnold,
brothers Jack and Larry Pippin of Festus, sisters Cleta June Johnston
and husband Ronald of Festus, Dolly Pippin-Rogers of Corning, Arkansas,

Green, 84, formerly of O'Fallon, Missouri, entered into rest at
his residence in DeSoto on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He was born, June
10, 1927 to the late Hogan and Evie (Lemons) Green in Paris, Tennessee.
He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served aboard the U.S.
Nereus. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic
Pacific Campaign Medal and served until July 1944. He married Betty
(Keating)who preceded him in death. He is survived by sons: Stephen
(Laurie)Green of Swansea, IL, David (Marcia) Green of Festus, MO, Randy
(Tami) Green of Granite City, IL, Bradley (Regina) Green of St. Peters,
MO, Bryan (Judy) Green of St. Petersburg, FL and Danny Green of St.
Louis, MO; daughters: Glenda (Norman) Pyeatt of Lake St. Louis, MO,
Deborah (Gary) Hall of Robertsville, MO, and Kimberly Grimes of
