Clara Mae Aubuchon, age 95 of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born July 20, 1915 in Mill Creek, Missouri the daughter of the late Minnie Caroline (nee Huffman) and Calvin Hicks Wray.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ivan N. Aubuchon, Sr., sisters Isabelle “Lessie” Chlanda and her late husband August, Bessie East and her late husband Bryan, Mary Elders and her late husband Albert, Pearl Thurston and her late husband Elmer, Dorothy Stafford and surviving husband Tony, brothers Leo Wray and his late wife Pearl and James Wray and his late wife Mabel. She is survived by a son Ivan N. Aubuchon, Jr. and his wife Constance of Lindenhurst, Illinois, a granddaughter Ann Marie Kozel and her husband David, great-granddaughters Natalie Ann and Lindsey Clair Kozel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a retired seamstress from Co-Ed Garment factory in Festus, a member of the First Christian Church in Hematite, Missouri, auxiliary member of the VFW Post #3777 and American Legion Post #253. Raymond Luther Bruedigam, age 82 of Floresville, Texas, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Vitas Hospice Facility in San Antonio, Texas.  He was born June 10, 1928 in Plattin, Missouri the son of the late Bertha Ellen (nee Kronk) and Henry Luther Bruedigam.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen L. (nee LaPree) Bruedigam and a brother-in-law H. Jean Genrich. He is survived by two daughters, Ronda Birr and Dena Bruedigam both of San Antonio, Texas, a sister Zelpa T. Genrich of Crystal City, Missouri and Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was an Army Veteran in the Korean War, a member of First Baptist Church, Festus/Crystal City, Missouri, a life member of the NRA, the National and Missouri Trapper’s Association and the Festus/Crystal City Conservation Club. Frieda “Rose” Lambert, age 85, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away March 2, 1011 at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, MO. She worked for Kaiser Aluminum. Born February 8, 1926 in Edwardsville, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Ana (Schallaville) Ippert. She is survived by her children: Debra (Alan) Witkowski, Arnold, MO, James (Nancy) Stricker, De Soto, MO, John Gonzales, Sr., Arnold, MO (preceded in death by one son, Mark Stricker); Brothers & Sisters: 15 siblings. Bessie "Billee" Margaret (Davis) Ross, 87 years, of Festus, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired case worker for the Missouri Division of Family Services. She was a 26 year member of the ladies auxiliary at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and a member of Our Lady Catholic Church of Festus/Crystal City. Born August 20, 1923, in Lafe, Arkansas to the late James M. and Bessie M. (Crow) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband: Fred A. Ross who passed away in 1997.  She is survived by her son: James Ross of Festus, MO, daughters: Judy (Cliff) Sansoucie of Festus, MO and Jeanne (Jeff) Keisker of Las Vegas,NV, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons: Gary Fraser and John Fraser, daughter: Caron Kiser, brother: James Davis and sister: Jimmy Clary. Timothy A. Roth, age 52, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born July 1, 1958 in Festus, Missouri the son of the late Alpine Ramona (nee LaRose) Roth and the late Damian Edgar Roth. He is survived by his wife Denise S. (nee Cambron) Roth, daughter Amber Lynn Mauk and husband Jonny of Boulder, Colorado, step-mother Rose Steinman of Bonne Terre, Missouri, half-sister Krystal Manning and husband Richard of Farmington, Missouri, half-brother Damian Steinman and wife Michelle of Vienna, Illinois, sister-in-law Debbie Cambron of Festus and sisters Cheryl of DeSoto, Missouri and Bev of Patton, Missouri. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Terry Roth and mother and father-in-law Gladys and Harris Cambron. He was a 1976 graduate of Festus High School, served in the United States Navy, member of Elks #1721, worked as a welder for Continental Boiler in St. Louis and previously as a blast furnace operator for Foster-Forbes in Pevely, Missouri. Ben Everette Whitener, age 68 of Festus, Missouri passed away March 2, 2011 at his residence.  He was born January 14, 1943 in Zion, Missouri the son of the late Alma (nee Hale) and Everette Whitener.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law John Freeman. He is survived by his wife Rhoda “Kay” (nee Saling) Whitener of Festus, a son Chris Whitener and his wife Missy of Festus, a daughter Libby Campbell and her husband Tony of Simpsonville, South Carolina, two sisters Phyllis Fencl and husband A.J. of Fredericktown, Missouri and Janet Freeman of Monet, Missouri.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Alec and Annabelle Whitener and Joseph, Joshua and Jeremiah Campbell. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Festus where he served as Treasurer for over thirty years.  He taught English and French at the Festus High School for 37 years. He was a member of MSTA, the Festus Board of Adjustments, the Festus Public Library Board and Foundation Board, Trustee and Board Member for the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, a Jefferson County Election Judge, Past President of MSTA-CTA and was the Emerson Electric Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient in 1998. Ramona Agatha Anna Liuzza, age 93 of Pevely, Missouri formerly of Brookfield, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born March 1, 1918 in Wilmette, Illinois the daughter of the late Ethel (nee Shumilski) and Cyriel DeVooght.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husbands Gerald B. Deem and Ralph Liuzza and a brother Glenn (the late Adeline) DeVooght. She is survived by daughter Janice Charlotte Miller and husband Ronald L. of Brookfield,  son Dennis Dale Deem and wife Phyllis F. of Pevely, grandchildren Michael “Scott” Miller and wife Doreen of O’Fallon, Missouri,  Julie Frost and husband Tim of Lynchburg, Virginia, Jessica LaRose of Festus, Missouri, Nicole Kramer and husband Steve of Richmond Heights, Missouri, Matthew Deem and fiancée Heather Evans of Pevely, great-grandchildren Alexis and Samantha Miller, Danielle Lang and husband Brian, Annie and Shelby Frost, Cassandra and Kyle LaRose, Claudia and Atticus Kramer and great-great granddaughter Madison Lang. Mrs. Liuzza was a homemaker and had worked at Western Auto and J.C. Born September 21, 1932 in Magnolia, IL, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lavern (Boyer) Lundgren. She was born on August 2, 1960, in Crystal City, Missouri, to the late Russell and Ava (Nee Drum) Long. She is survived by her loving husband,Kevin Ponzar of Festus; sons: John (Julie) Ponzar of Victoria, MO, Brent Ponzar of Victoria, MO, and Garrett Ponzar of Victoria, MO; father and mother-in-law: Lynn and Mary Gideon of DeSoto; brother, David (Pam) Long of Desloge, MO; sisters: Becky Cain of Cadet, MO, and Lisa (Scott) McKinney of Georgia; grandchildren: Savannah and Avery. She also leaves behind brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roberta Long. Gordon L. Yancy,  80, of DeSoto, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on March 5, 2011. Mr. Yancey was owner of DeSoto Florist for 30 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is a member of the DeSoto Elks Lodge #689, DeSoto Amvets Post #48 and DeSoto VFW Post #1831. Born April 15, 1930, in McKanda, Illinois, to the late Hosea and Mattie (nee Dillow) Yancey. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose (nee Eudy) Yancey of DeSoto. Also survived by two sons: Barry (Beth Miller) Yancey of DeSoto and Dwight "Butch" Yancey of DeSoto; a daughter, Coach Beth Yancey of DeSoto; two grandchildren: Kyle and Alyssa; and a very special friend, Nancy Blackwell of DeSoto. Mr. Yancy also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers: Clel, Curtis, Kenneth, Charlie and John; and three sisters, Ruby, Helen and Pauline. Norma Jean Wedde, age 72, of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born February 12, 1939 in Festus, the daughter of the late Jessie (nee Morrow) and Earnest Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Leroy Wedde, Sr. and survived by sons Harvey Leroy (Debbie) Wedde, Jr. of DeSoto, Missouri and John J. (Sandy Isaak) Wedde of Festus, grandchildren Tonya (Michael) DeClue, Heather (Lance Underwood) Wedde, Justine (Ed Koenig) Wedde and John Wedde, Jr., great-grandchildren Colin DeClue, Katelyn DeClue, Mackenzie Underwood, Coltin DeClue and Dylan Koenig. Also surviving are sisters Geraldine Burley of Festus, Nadine (the late Lilburn) Becker of Festus, Betty (Lloyd) Robinson of Festus and Carol Thompson of DeSoto, brothers Cletus (the late Lillian) Thompson of Festus, Darrell (Mary) Thompson of Arizona, Ralph (the late Brenda) Thompson of Festus and Bill (Barb) Thompson of Imperial. Catherine M. “Sis” (Bourisaw) Belt, 85, of DeSoto entered into rest on March 8, 2011 at her home.  Mrs. Belt was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  Born October 19, 1925 in Washington County; she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Marie (Bequette) Bourisaw.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl Belt. She is survived by one daughter, Ruth (Dennis) Carlton of St. Louis; eight siblings, Ruth Jarvis of Potosi, Veronica Fields of DeSoto, Cecil (Carol) Bourisaw of Bonne Terre, Viola Maness of DeSoto, Geraldine (Elmer) Meyer of Hillsboro, Janice (Karl) Schott of Hillsboro, Charlotte (Henry) Skiles of DeSoto and Jon (Nancy) Bourisaw of DeSoto; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Belt and Anthony Belt; and one brother, Martin Bourisaw. Funeral Mass was held March 11 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. Alexander Anderson.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel.

Odessa G. Henderson, 77, of DeSoto entered into rest on March 8, 2011 at Hillcrest Nursing Center.  Mrs. henderson was a production line worker with the Nestle Company.  She was a member of DeSoto Community Church of God and American War Mothers.  Born April 18, 1933 in DeSoto; she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elise (Kelly) Evans. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Obadiah "Obie" Henderson of DeSoto; one son, Dennis "Butch" (Brenda) Henderson of Florida; one daughter, Loretta Henderson of DeSoto; five grandchildre, Kayla, Bliss, Terrence, Dessa and Tamesha; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Evan, and two siblings, Charles Evans and Lila Hinkle of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Kinder and nine siblings, Glendell Logan, Albert Kelly, Hootie Kelly, Paul Evans, Gertrude Kelly, Ethel Stewart, Savannah Evans, Georgia Fleming and Rosalie Kelly. Funeral services were held March 14, at Mahn DeSoto Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses and the Rev. Steve Leach.  Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in DeSoto.  Memorials may be made to DeSoto Community Church of God, 300 W. George Jules Bequette, Sr., age 75 of Herculaneum, Missouri, formerly of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Missouri.  He was born June 22, 1935 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri the son of the late Georgia M. “Sis” (nee Huck) and Harold Jules Bequette.  He is survived by his former wife Nan (nee McConnell) Bequette of Crystal City, sons Christopher Bequette of Champaign, Illinois and George J. “Jay” (Cindy) Bequette, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas, daughter Melissa “Missy” Bequette of Seattle, Washington, grandsons Jake, Sam, Joe and Luc Bequette and sister Illma Ann (the late Edward) Mack of Crystal City. Stanley Edgar Seabaugh, age 73 passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born March 20, 1937 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Irene Anna (nee Winkler) and Lee Vester Seabaugh. He is survived by his wife Gloria Ann (nee Polette) Seabaugh, a son Tracy Lee Seabaugh and wife Sheri of Sullivan, Illinois, a daughter Kimberly Ann Horn of Festus, Missouri, grandchildren Darby Lynn Harden of Sullivan and husband Jerrod, Zachary Lee Seabaugh of Sullivan who is presently serving in Afghanistan with the Marine Corps First Division, Ciara Jade Horn of Festus and a great-granddaughter Isabella Harden.  He is also survived by two sisters, Marian Seabaugh of St. Louis, Missouri and Nancy Eads of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and husband James and several nieces and nephews. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army National Guard, a member of Sacred Heart Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1230, the Elks Lodge #1721 and retired 12/31/1991 from PPG as a Wareroom Supervisor. She was born December 11, 1939 in Festus, the daughter of the late Sadie (nee Winebarger) and Woodrow Vinyard. She is survived by her husband David Grayson, sons Michael David Grayson of Festus and Ronald Ira Grayson and wife Kathy of Adams, Tennessee, sister Vicki Park and husband John of Walnut Creek, California and brother Ronald Vinyard and wife Michan of San Jose, California. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus and a Registerd Nurse, having worked as a visiting nurse in San Francisco, California, Arkansas, St. Louis, and Ironton Missouri. Memorial mass to be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Church of Our Lady, Festus, with Fr. He is survived by parents June (nee Drury) and Samuel E. Ogle, Sr. of Festus, children Emily Ann, Samuel E. III and Nicholas Ogle, all of Manchester, Missouri, sisters Beverly Miloscia and husband Stephen of Barnhart, Missouri, Jacqueline Forrester of Festus and Mary Elizabeth Terrell and husband Travis of Lake View, Alabama, brother Bryan Ogle and wife Jean of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and 19 Nieces and Nephews. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, Missouri, the Knights of Columbus and had attended St. Raphael the Archangel in St. Louis.  He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a warehouse operator for Swiss-American Inc., cheese importers and distributors in St. Louis. He was a member of the Classic Car Club and was a veteran of the United States Army who served his country during the Vietnam War. Born July 18, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, MO to the late Leo and Wilma (Wilks) Hancock. He is survived by his wife: Janice (Griffin) Hancock, son: John J. Mark C. Abel, age 61 passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born February 8, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Anna Mae (nee Dumbauld) and Harold Chris Abel. He is survived by his wife Cheryl (nee Rich) Abel of Festus, step-daughter Melinda Contryman of St. Louis,  step-son Darron Contryman of Tokyo, Japan,  granddaughter Zoe Contryman of St. Louis, niece Elizabeth Mouser and husband Rob of Herculaneum, Missouri, nephew Larry “Chris” Abel of Festus, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Stephen H. Abel, who died in infancy and Larry Vernon Abel. Mr. Abel graduated from Festus High School and the Missouri University at Columbia.  He first worked at Abel’s Sinclair Station on Main Street in Festus and later was the owner/operator of the Mark C. Abel Insurance agency. He began his political career spanning over 25 years as the Festus City Treasurer and later, was elected to the Missouri House of representatives where he served six terms from 1985 to 1991 and from 1998 to 2004.  While in the house he served as the Speaker Pro Tem, Minority Leader, and chaired various committees.  He helped to create the Missouri Senior Prescription Drug Program, the Access to Higher Education Act and other economic development legislation.  He presently is the Jefferson County Treasurer. A memorial gathering in his honor will begin at 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2011 at Frederick’s Catering Center, 201 Main St., Festus.  Interment Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery, Festus.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Betty Lou Armstrong, age 85, of Hillsboro, MO, passed away March 23, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, MO. She had been a Custodian for Hillsboro High School; also worked as a cook at Hillsboro Café. Born June 7, 1925 in Sedalia, MO as Minnie Burns to Edward H. & Della Burns; at a very young age she was adopted by John & Jennie (Burgan) Bechler, and became known as Betty Lou Bechler. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Gene Armstrong. He was a production supervisor for 33 years for Sunline Brands and was a United States Air Force veteran. He loved fishing, hunting, sports, playing cards, his beagles and was an avid Cardinals fan. Born June 2, 1937, in Calhoun, Mississippi to the late Joseph and Virginia (Moore) Lovette. He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Joy (Brame) Lovette; sons: Kenneth Lovette of Tucson, AZ, Kevin Lovette of Nashville, TN and Kristopher (Maureen) Lovette of O'Fallon, MO, grandchildren: Molly, Maggie and Brennan. Sharron K. (Spangler) Brock, 58, of DeSoto, entered into rest on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Luckey Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Hillsboro Food Pantry. She loved reading, camping, fishing and teaching. Born May 17, 1952, in Ironton, Missouri to the late Norman and Francis (Swearingen) Spangler. Roger D. Rodgers, 68, of DeSoto entered into rest March 25, 2011 at Hillcrest Nursing Center.  Mr. Rodgers was born August 7, 1942. He is survived by a friend, Tom Carbone of St. Louis; one cousin, Mary Beth Farley of Vermont; and his friends at Hillcrest Nursing Center and Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Memorial services were held April 7 at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Theodore J. “Ted” Bryant, age 83, of Festus, Missouri, who wintered in Clermont, Florida passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont.  He was born April 20, 1927 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri the son of the late Gracie (nee Bean) and Theodore Bryant. He is survived by his wife Lila Lee (nee Martin) Bryant, daughters Carol Vassallo and husband John of Yuma, Arizona, Catherine Steimel and husband Tom of Bethany, Illinois, Pamela Beykirch and husband Henry of O’Fallon, Illinois, Stephanie Boyer and husband Mark of DeSoto, Missouri and Brenda Fadler and husband Rowdy of Crystal City, Missouri, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Orien A. Bryant and the late wife Beulah, sister Muriel Geluck and the late husband Harry and a half-brother Gene Bryant. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, was a retired welder from Pittsburg Plate Glass Company’s Crystal City plant, a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City and Elks Lodge #1721. Graveside memorial services will be conducted a later date in the Festus Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery.

Paul Edward Pinkley, age 88, of Herculaneum, Missouri, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri. He was born February 20, 1923 in Hogan, Missouri the son of the late Elizabeth (nee Bennett) and Adonis Green Pinkley. He is survived by his wife Eugenia F. (nee Pace) Pinkley, daughter Paula Sherrell and husband Robert of Decatur, Texas, son Perry Pinkley and wife Patty of Humble, Texas, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and Korea and was a retired glassworker from the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Crystal City. Mr. Pinkley gifted his remains to Washington University School of Medicine.

Michael Joseph Smith, age 30 of Bloomsdale, Missouri passed away Wednesday,  March 30, 2011 in Bloomsdale.  He was born December 19, 1980 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Larry and Marilyn (nee Klekamp) Smith of Festus, Missouri. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Kelly (nee Mullins) Smith, daughters Madison Travis, Morgan Smith and Ayden Smith of Bloomsdale, sisters Jacquelyn Obst and husband Aaron of Florissant, Missouri, Christine Poertner and husband Johnathan of St. Louis, Missouri and grandmother Frances Smith of Monet, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by grandparents Regina and Henry Klekamp and Herbert Smith. He was a machine operator for Edge Manufacturing in Pevely, Missouri. Margeret P. McKinstry, 92, of DeSoto entered into rest March 31, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  Mrs. McKinstry was a self-employed property manager.  She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and volunteered at senior citizens centers.  Born July 28, 1918 in Steelville; she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearl (Edgar) Donahoe. She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Mary) McKinstry of DeSoto and Ross (Anne) McKinstry of Bowling Green; one daughter, Jane (Andrew) Pitt of St. Louis; one brother, Patrick (Joyce) Donahoe of Cuba; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Sam, Erin, Caroline and Rachel, and three great-grandchildren, Sam, Oliver and Charlie.  She was preceded in death by three siblings, Raymond Donahoe, Louise Shropp and Teresa Stair. Funeral services were held April 5 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Darlene Payne.  Burial was in Potosi Masonic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the DeSoto Food Pantry, PO Box 552, DeSoto, 63020.  Arrangements were under the direction Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.
