Helen "Bernice" Godier, age 95, formerly of Crystal City, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Oroville, Washington. She was a homemaker who enjoyed walking, sewing, baking pies, drinking coffee with her friends and being with her family. Born September 17, 1915, in Danby, Missouri to the late Chris and Sarah (Baker) Garber. She is survived by her sons: Kenneth (Jan) Godier of Festus, MO and Gregory (Jocelyn) Godier of Cerro Gordo, IL; daughters: Joan (Bruce) Cool of Oroville, WA and Lesa Brown of Festus, MO; grandchildren: Kim, Doug, Matt, Clay, Kayce, Chad and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Jack and Nolan; brother: George Garber of Bloomsdale , MO and sister: Laverne Carbo of Colorado Springs, CO. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Godier, brothers: Russell and Clarence Garber and sisters: Grace Rath, Elaine Davis and Ruth Huckaba. Sherry Lynn Loges, age 55, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at her residence.  She was born August 2, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Shirley Marie (nee Damron) Boyer. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Loges and step-father James W. Boyer. She is survived by her fiance’ Al Aboussie, a daughter Rachel Puckett and husband Eric of St. Charles, Missouri, a son Benjamin Loges of Festus, a granddaughter Dakota Puckett, a grandson Everett Puckett and her adoptive father George Hawk of Festus. A memorial service will be held at her church, Twin City Church of Christ, Festus, 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2011 with Pastor Alan Amos officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.

Marianne Lyda Hecktor, age 82, of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  She was born August 16, 1928 in Heilbrow, Germany, the daughter of the late Anna (nee Wolf) and Robert Haberle.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Hecktor. She is survived by a son James Mokwa and wife Antoinett of Wellington, Florida, a granddaughter Christina Mokwa and a step-brother Erhart Haberie of Stuttgate, Germany. She was a retired accountant, member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus, Missouri, Lady Elks of Lodge #1721, Hoe and Hope Garden Club, a gift shop volunteer at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and a friend to many. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus beginning at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 6, 2011, with funeral services at 2:00 P.M., officiated by Rev. Dennis Heck, Chaplain of Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Crystal City. Memorials in her memory are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.

Marie A Gash, 62, of DeSoto passed away on May 3, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 8, 1943; she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene (nee Pavlik) Vallo. She was married to her loving husband, Lee A. Gash, Jr. on July 19, 1969. Marie was a assistant administrator for Wal Greens and Infusion in Fenton. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Festus and she enjoyed camping. Family members surviving are her husband; a son, Lee Gash, III, of St. Louis; daughters: Lisa Gash and Melissa Gash, both of DeSoto; mother-in-law, Dorothy Gash of St. Louis; three brothers: Lawrence (Edie) Vallo of Florissant, Gregory (Mary) Vallo of Imperial and Anthony (Mary) Vallo of DeSoto; two sisters: Kathleen (William "Butch" ) Myers of Hillsboro and Rita (Dave) Hansen of Festus; a sister & brother-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Tracey of Crestwood. Mrs. Gash was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dennis Vallo. Father Alex Anderson will officiate the funeral service. Memorial Gathering: Friday, May 6, 2011. Time: 10:00am - 11:00am. Vivian L. Green, 67, of DeSoto entered into rest on May 3, 2011 at her residence. Born on September 17, 1943 in Greenbriar, Missouri; she was the daughter of the late Linus and Christine (nee Storz) Green. Vivian was a machine operator for the DeSoto Shoe Factory for over 20 plus years. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, an Elvis fan, she never met a stranger and loved the Lord. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in DeSoto. Mrs. Green is survived by five brothers: Eldon (Betty) Green, St. Louis County, Junior Green of DeSoto, Randy (Anna) Green of High Ridge, Dennis Green of Imperial and Richard (Kathy) Green of Pevely; four sisters: Loretta (R.B.) Thorn of Lilbourn,MO, Janette (Willard) Creason, of St. Charles, Geraldine (Donald) Strange of DeSoto and Brenda Green of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Annie Green, two brothers, Burette Green and Theodore Green and a sister, Charlotte Warner. Rev. Betty L. Obermeyer, 80, formerly of DeSoto passed away on May 3, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 29, 1931 in Herculaneum, to the late Roy and Ercel (nee Faulkner) Derickson. She was preceded in death by her huband, Fred Obermeyer. Betty was a homemaker and had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Junction Market and DeSoto IGA. She loved dancing, traveling, cooking and reading. Survived by two sons: Dusty (Gail)Obermeyer of Festus and Michael (Lynne) Obermeyer of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Bambi (Gary) Haverstick of DeSoto; seven grandchildren: Duston, Jeff, Anthony, Travis, Scott, Josh and Angela; and five great-grandchildren: Jillian, Abby Jo, Alekzander, Mitchell and Faith. She was preceded in death by parents, husband and a brother, Dubart Derickson and two sisters, Kathleen Rasch and Carmel Scibetta. Reverend Jim Owens will be officiating the funeral service. Lois Louise Schanz, age 82 of Pevely, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, Creve Coeur, Missouri.  She was born February 27, 1929 in Herculaneum, Missouri the daughter of the late Maggie (nee Broombaugh) and Theodore Boyer.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Oran Boyer and a brother-in-law Harold Pashia. She is survived by sons Jeffrey Lee Schanz and wife Doris of Pevely, Ross Sidney Schanz of Pevely, Kevin Mark Schanz and wife Ann Patrice of Crystal City, Missouri, a daughter Lisa Ann Hillis and husband Jeffrey of Williamsville, Missouri, a brother Theodore E. Boyer and wife Terry of Herculaneum, a sister Norma Pashia of Herculaneum, a sister-in-law Mary Boyer, 14 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren. Leslie D. Falk, 71, of De Soto passed away May 5, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Mr. Falk was a professor at Jefferson College for 31 years.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the De Soto Elks and the Moose Lodge in Anna Maria Island, Florida.  Born December 19, 1939 in Iowa; he was the son of the late Leslie R. and Matilda (Herkson) Falk. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret “Maggie” Falk of De Soto; two sons: Kirk L. Falk of Hillsboro and Mitchel J. (Kathleen) Falk of Virginia; four grandchildren; Tyler Falk, James Falk, Madyson Falk and Tori Drinnin; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Fishbeck of St. Louis. Visitation from 4pm to 6pm, Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Mahn Funeral Home, De Soto with service at 6 pm . Burial is in Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, De Soto.

Dorothy Ann Swiger, age 75 of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born November 15, 1935 in Russellville, Alabama the daughter of the late Gladys (nee McBride) and Udell Dickens.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Guy Nester Swiger, a son Mark Pippins and a brother Buddy Dickens. She is survived by a son Robert Dale Pippins of Festus, daughters Cynthia Soudauplous and husband Steve of Illinois, Debra Files and husband Bill of Festus and Carla Hill of California.  She is also survived by a sister Katie Davis of Georgia, two sister-in-laws, Dwanice Dickens of Florida and Jane Bollinger and husband Gerald, 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. Isabell Mary (nee Geiler) Drury, age 90, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Riverview at the Park in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.  She was born January 21, 1921 in Plattin, Missouri, the daughter of the late Emma C. (nee Vineyard) and Amos A. Geiler, Sr.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wm. Benjamin Drury, Jr., a brother Amos Geiler, Jr. and a grandson-in-law Kevin Lay. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Lou Pribble and husband Donald of Midlothian, Texas, and Judith Ann Smith and husband George of Toronto, Canada, 4 sons, Wm. J. “Bill” Drury and wife Becci of Festus, James R. Drury and wife Donna M. of Bloomsdale, Missouri, Paul R. Drury and wife Marl of Bloomsdale and Charles R. “Chuck” Drury and wife Cindy of Festus, 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Mark David Strieker, age 47 of Pevely, Missouri passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at his residence.  He was born July 19, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Bonnie K. (nee Esmond) and Donald J. Strieker. He is survived by his brother and best friend Mike Strieker and wife Cyndi of Imperial, Missouri, 4 sisters Pam Childress and husband Bill of Phelan, California, Janet Barciszewski and husband Joe of Imperial, Donna Link and husband Kevin of St. Charles, Missouri and Rene Strieker of South County, Missouri.  He is also survived by nieces, Sobian Childress 30, Lisa Barciszewski 29, Christina Link 23, Kelly Link 21, Brianna Strieker 15, Natalie Strieker 12 and nephews, Brian Barciszewski 37, Aaron Barciszewski 27 and Shaun Strieker 28. He is survived by his wife Wanda (nee Howard) Dement, a daughter Wanda “Wendy” Greenlee and husband Tim of Festus, a son Brian Dement and fiancée Jamie Russell of Herculaneum, Missouri, a sister Mary Jo Pouge of St. Louis and four grandchildren, T.J. and Danielle Greenlee and Joshua and Jacob Dement. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a sheet metal worker for Brasch Manufacturing. He was a retired store room clerk for Anheuser Busch, was a United States Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #253 and the Festus/Crystal City Elks Lodge #1721.He enjoyed fishing and boating. Born June 26, 1944, in St Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Virginia (Nance) and Phillip Doll Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Constance "Connie" (Wright) Doll of DeSoto, MO, a son: Dion Doll of Festus, MO, a daughter: Christine (Fred) Rauch of Brentwood, MO, two grandchildren: Zach and Jessica Rauch, a brother: Phillip (Suzy) Doll of Phoenix, AZ, sisters: Joanne (Robert) Riley of Oklahoma City, OK, Pat Benkle of Chico, CA, and Cheri (Rob) Sertich of Duarte, CA, along with several nieces, nephews, many friends and his fishing buddies. David M. Noel, age 32, of Festus, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was a heavy equipment operator for Holcim Cement. He enjoyed playing golf, was a Cardinals fan, loved animals, collected guns and was a people person. Born April 23, 1979, in Lexington, KY to William Noel of Florida and Lynda (Smith) Noel of Festus, MO. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter: Addison Noel, brothers: Michael William Noel of St Louis, MO and Christopher Noel of Atlanta, GA and sister: Kimberly Susan (Kip Snook) Noel of Laporte, IN along with many friends. Patricia Lee Marler, age 82 of Horine, Missouri passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Villas in DeSoto, Missouri.  She was born March 17, 1929 in Maplewood, Missouri the daughter of the late Mary Etta (nee Chadduck) and Lee Michael Flaherty.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. During her career she was employed at several hospitals and at one time owned Ideal Rest Home. Harold "Richie" Skiles, Jr, 39, Imperial passed away on May 19, 2011 in DeSoto, Missouri. Born April 18, 1972 in St. Louis, MO; he was the son of Harold Skiles, Sr., DeSoto and the late Vada (nee Houston) Skiles. Richie is survived by his wife, Deanna (nee Tindall) of Imperial, MO. Mr. Skiles was a self-employed welder. He enjoyed fishing and watching his daughters softball games. She was a homemaker and a retired secretary for Morris Insurance Agency in Collinsville, IL. She enjoyed family gatherings, watching the birds, especially hummingbirds. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Norman B. He enjoyed fishing, camping and NASCAR. Born January 24, 1947, in Arkansas to the late Kenneth and Lucille (Johnson) Huckabee. She was a member of Church of Our Lady, Festus and a retired dental assistant for Dr. Ray Weible. Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.  Funeral mass 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2011 at Church of Our Lady, Festus, co-celebrated by Fr. Joseph Wormek, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Crystal City and Fr. John Kerber, Pastor of Church of Our Lady, Festus.  Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Crystal City.  Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
