Merril W. Brown, 74, of DeSoto entered into rest on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Crystal City. He was the born in Troy Missouri on June 2, 1937; son of the late Deallo E and Donnie O. (Barnes) Brown. He is survived by his wife, Liliian (Elliott) Brown. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the US Army. He was a foreman and machinist for the Crown Zeller Box Company. He was a black belt in karate, a fisherman and an Oversize Load Escort and a member of the Book of Acts Church. Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Dennis) Loughery, Imperial and Sherri (Ted) Mazurek, Dittmer; a brother, Earl Brown of Texas; twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Deanna Sue Nash, age 71 of French Village, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Parkland Hospital, Bonne Terre, Missouri.  She was born August 8, 1940 in Crystal City, Missouri the daughter of the late Mabel (nee Edwards) LaRose-Cotner and Dennis LaRose. She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Nash,  a son Bob Nash of French Village, daughters Mendy Orr and husband Steve of Farmington, Missouri, Bridgette VanNostrand and husband Steve of Jacksonville Arkansas and Brenda McKinney and husband Mike of Seligman, Missouri, grandchildren Katie and Christopher Orr, Gayla Rauschstadt, Billy, Charlene and Jake VanNostrand  a great-granddaughter Alexis Rauschstadt and her step-father Richard Cotner of Arizona. Richard Lee Russell, age 59 of Festus, Missouri passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Herculaneum, Missouri. He was born July 5, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Constance (nee Moria) and Herbert  Russell. He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (nee Gegg) Russell, a daughter Kathleen Gross and husband Kevin of  Festus, a son Eric  (Danielle) Russell of Herculaneum, step-daughter Deanna Maxwell and husband Tony of  Potosi, Missouri, step-sons James Skaggs and wife Sabrinna of  Bloomfield, Missouri,  Anthony Skaggs of Hannibal, Missouri and Chad Skaggs of Potosi,  brothers Robert Russell, St. Louis, Missouri Herbert “Mike” Mulsen and wife Margaret of  St. Louis, Missouri and a nephew Paul Mulsen. Born February 6, 1950 in Cleveland, OH, she was the Daugher of the late Anthony Milicia, Sr. and Virginia (Mickey) Milicia, Cleveland, OH. Ronald Clark Chapman, age 80 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born April 22, 1931 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Mildred (nee Holland) and Nelson Chapman. He is survived by his wife Geraldine (nee McDonald) Chapman, two sons, Leonard Chapman and wife Terry of Festus and Mark Chapman and wife Angie of Ballwin, Missouri, three brothers Robert Chapman and wife Alta of Crystal City, Jack Chapman of DeLand, Florida, Joseph Chapman and wife Barbara of Festus, a sister Linda Brockway and husband Clarence of Owosso, Michigan, three grandchildren Josh Chapman and wife Kassie, Brian Chapman and Cassidy Chapman and two great-grandchildren, Kyndal and Levi Chapman.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was employed as a carpenter for St. Louis Ship for 29 years and then the City of Festus Street Department. Dorothy Mae Clifton, age 85 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born August 29, 1926 in Festus the daughter of the late Meta “Mae” (nee Ahlemeyer) and Felix “Shorty” Basler. She is survived by her husband Russell Glenwood Clifton, sons Mark Clifton and wife Lori of Manchester, Missouri and Bart Clifton and wife Jackie of  New London, Connecticut, daughters Alanna “Lanna” Geiler of Oakville, Missouri and Laura J. Werner and husband Tim of  Westerville, Ohio, a brother Louis Basler of Festus, sisters Bernice Hurst and husband Verlyn of Festus, Helen Tucker and husband Tom of Crystal City and Shirley Singleton and husband Edward of St. Louis, Missouri, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Delores Basler and a granddaughter. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus and a retired cook with the Festus R-6 School District. Memorial Mass to be held at Church of Our Lady at a later date.  Inurnment at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

Ivan Donald Hudson, age 74 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his residence.  He was born December 29, 1936 in Inola, Oklahoma the son of the late Jessie (nee Belden) and Ivan Hudson. He is survived by his wife Karen (nee Calahan) Hudson, a daughter Jeanette Hennemann and husband Lance of Festus, sons Donald Hudson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joshua Hudson of Festus, brothers John Hudson and wife Janice of Oklahoma, sisters Vicki Wade and husband Bill of Oklahoma, Jessie Mae Bowden of Oklahoma, Peggy Edmondson and husband Grady of Oklahoma, step-sisters Dorothy Armstrong of Oregon, Earline Campbell of California and one granddaughter Samantha Hudson.  He is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Charles Hudson, sisters Elsie Moulder, Barbara Jean Hudson, and a step-sister Wanda Hayes. He was a member of the Hematite Christian Church, veteran of the United States Army, a retired installer with AT&T/Alcatel-Lucent, served on the Quad City Senior Citizen Committee and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Curry, age 86, of Herculaneum, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Vacaville, California.  She was born August 30, 1925 in Festus, Missouri, the daughter of the late Sadie Mary (nee Boyer) and John Esch. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James B. “Shorty” Curry, a sister Ruth (the late Chalmer) Clifton, brothers John “Bud” (the late Vallie “Chick”) Esch, and Bernard (LaVonna “Bonnie” survives of Festus) Esch. She is survived by a daughter Sandra “Sandy” Fish and husband Ronald L. “Ben” of Vacaville, sisters Vivian (the late Andrew) DeGeare of Festus, Missouri, Marjorie (the late Bill) Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri and Bernice (the late Clyde) Chamberlain of Bonne Terre, Missouri, and a brother Richard Esch and wife Joan of Festus. She was a glassworker at the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company’s Crystal City plant and a longtime member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herculaneum.Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Concetta "Connie" Guilbot, 94, of DeSoto, (formerly of Hillsboro) entered into rest on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Hillcrest Care Center in DeSoto. Connie was born July 21, 1917 to the late Nicholas and Filamena (Napolitano) Mascolo in Newark, New Jersey. She married Joseph Peter Guilbot in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1955. Joseph preceded her in death on December 16, 2007. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lori (Richard) Lofton of Hillsboro, a grandson Jason Lofton and a sister, Fran Raichelson of Holyoke, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 3 brothers, Anthony, Sal, and Don Mascolo and 2 sisters; Ann and Carmie. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue (nee Dunn) Decker, a brother Thomas Decker and wife Robin of Champaign, Illinois and a sister Carol Decker of Champaign. He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and a retired truck driver for Davenport Muffler. Born on March 19, 1935 to the late George W. and Minnie Belle (Ellis) Smith in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He enjoyed working on cars, collecting die cast cars, fishing; his CB Club handle was "Blue Mule". He is survived by his loving family which includes: sons, David R. (Lynn Fredrick) Smith of Lakeland, FL, and Johnny G. Smith of DeSoto; daughters; Julie (Don W.) Hurtgen of Festus, Amy (James) Maxwell of DeSoto, and Andreanna M. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann (nee Gluckhertz) Tindall, brothers Theodore “Roy”, Russell and William Tindall, sisters Alma Benson, Katherine Flieg, Georgia Pratt, Lottie Steinbach and Charlotte Tindall. He is survived by a daughter Vicke Teague of DeSoto, and son Gary Tindall and wife Pam of St. Louis, Missouri, grandchildren Tammy Berneking and husband Nate, Logan Teague and wife Jennifer, Sherry Mills, and Angie McKnight and husband Mark, great-grandchildren Luke and David Teague, Emily Berneking, Andrew, Nathan and Karina Mills, Carter, Olivia and Cameron McKnight, and a sister Gloria Quintero. Karl C. Hansohm, age 82, of Festus, MO, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at his residence. Born December 23, 1928 in Emkendorf Kreis Plon, Germany to the late Heinrich and Dora Hansohm. He was raised in Germany and attended school there. He married Annemarie (Paetzel) on November 10, 1951 in Germany. Karl immigrated to Chicago, IL on August 8, 1962. He gained his U.S. citizenship in 1966. A resident of Festus since 1994, he enjoyed his home in Riverhills. In addition to his wife of 59 years: Annemarie (Paetzel) Hansohm, he is survived by his daughters: Heidemarie (Harold)  Pajewski of Chicago, IL and Jutta (John) Nenninger of Festus, MO, grandchildren: Marina Schutt, Philip Pajewski and Eric Nenninger, 5 great grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and nature and loved his family. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 10AM-12PM at Mahn Festus Chapel. Memorial service at 12:00 noon.

She is survived by daughters Carol Gray and husband Steve of Festus, Mary Wood of Bismarck, Missouri, Rosanne Langeneckert of Festus, Suzanne Risinger of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, and Anna Hubbard and husband Kevin of Edwardsville, Illinois, sons Gene Casper and wife Barbara of Festus, Terry Casper of Festus, and Joe Casper of Festus, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and employed at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City as a supply clerk. Carolyn “Sue” Foeller, age 67, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born November 14, 1943 in Crystal City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Zitta (nee Difani) and John Portlock. She is survived by her husband James E. Foeller, daughter Brandi Leonard and husband Tim of Imperial, Missouri, son J Foeller and wife Amber of Festus, sister Jean Francis and husband Robert of Herculaneum, Missouri, and five grandchildren Brendan and Lexi Leonard, and Jaycee, Isaac and Asa Foeller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters Ruth Burch, Kathleen Mangin and Ann Lupkey, and two brothers Lynn and John Portlock. She was the acting treasurer and member of Hematite Methodist Church in Hematite, Missouri. Visitation 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, October 23, 2011 with funeral services 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, Missouri, officiated by Rev. Ronald T. Rapp, age 42, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born July 17, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is survived by his mother Lynda (nee Mobley) Walsh of Festus, sons Keith Rapp of Arnold, Missouri and Kody Rapp of Imperial, Missouri, a daughter Krystal Rapp of Imperial, a brother Nathan Walsh and wife Robyn of Festus, a grandmother Helen Gilmore of Affton, Missouri, aunt Brenda Barnes and husband Brad of Affton, a niece Brittany Walsh and nephews Tristen and Drew Walsh. He is preceded in death by his father Dan Robert Walsh, grandfather Thomas Mobley and grandmother Joan Moritz. He was a screen printer at R&R Signs in Fenton, Missouri, a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Festus, and the Festus-Crystal City Conservation Club. Paul C. Bourisaw, Jr., age 43, of Hillsboro, Missouri, passed away Friday October 21, 2011 at his residence.  He was born May 8, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Irene (nee Patton) and Paul C. Bourisaw, Sr. In addition to his parents he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Festus, Missouri and had been employed at Jeffco Subcontracting in Arnold, a Jefferson County sheltered workshop. Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Richard L. Inman, age 66, of Festus, Mo entered into rest on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born on September 3, 1945, in St Louis, MO to the late Beulah (Sutton) and Oscar Inman. He is survived by his sons: Richard L. (Lisa) Inman Jr of DeSoto, MO and Robert P. (Cindy) Inman of Bonne Terre, MO along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a retired welder. Daniel Kenneth Sholts, age 66, of Festus, MO entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born March 19, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Roger K. and Josephine (Gobbi) Sholts. He was preceded in death by his wife: Cheryl A. (Boldt) Sholts who passed away June 20, 2004. Theodore J.  "Ted" Reeves, age 83, of Festus, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at his residence. Born October 23, 1928, in St Louis, MO  to the late Mary (Smith) and Teddy X. Reeves. He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Doris J. (Frazier-Kerby), sons: William" Bill" (Debra) Reeves of Farmington, MO, Thomas "Joe" Reeves of Farmington, MO and the late Daniel J. Reeves, stepson: Rex (Christy) Kerby of Southaven, MS, daughters: Susan Gilbert of St Louis, MO and Sally Reeves of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren: John "Thomas" Gilbert, Scott Gilbert, Hannah (Michael Bostwick), Casey Reeves, Amy Hayman, Jake Hayman, Robert "Cody" Hayman, and Justin Reeves, stepgrandchildren: Emily (Jeff) Ponath, Cody Kerby and Heather Mackenzie Kerby, great granddaughter: Eugenia "Hennie" Reeves Bostwick, sister in laws: Connie (Robert) Wooten, Carolyn (James) Thompson, Nellie (John) Barger and Deborah (Daniel) Deatherage, aunt: Mildred Penry, cousin: Bud (Sue) Reeves and brother in law: Roy James (Cheryl) Frazier. He was one of the initital principal partners of Penrod - Reeves - Gastorf, a St Louis based utility contracting firm. He later associated with Bloomsdale Excavating Company, then formed and served as president of GWS Contractors, Inc in Park Hills for over 30 years. He was past president of the Missouri Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors. He served on several committees with the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri. He was selected and served as a representative of the People to People Exchange Group in an international exchange program with the People's Republic of China. Ted served as Chairman of the Festus/Crystal City Sewage Treatment Commission from 1993-2003. He was a licensed professional surveyor, master plumber, mechanical engineer, inventor and entrepreneur. Ted was an active member of the American Legion Post #253, VFW Post #3777, and Festus Elks Lodge #1721. Funeral service with full military honors to be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00am at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Visitation Sunday from 4-8pm. Interment Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society or the American Red Cross.

Bonita Sue Walker, age 68 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born May 1, 1943 in Piggott, Arkansas the daughter of Juanita (nee Ward) McKenzie of Campbell, Missouri and the late James McKenzie. She is survived by her husband Edward Lee Walker of Festus, sons Mike Walker and wife Beverly of Festus, David Walker and wife Tere of St. Louis, Missouri and Christopher Walker and wife Hope of Hillsboro, Missouri, a daughter Debbie White of Festus, brothers Byron McKenzie of Macon, Missouri, Donald McKenzie and wife Nancy of Arnold, Missouri, a sister Jackie Sullinger and husband Bob of Sikeston, Missouri.  She is also survived by grandchildren Jacob and Lauren Walker, Katie Williams, Scott Bremer, Travis Walker, David and Sateia Walker, Justin Michalik, Megan Williams, Lauren Williams, Joshua, Kayla and Alysa Walker, great-grandchildren Olivia Walker, Chase Williams and Kyla Bremer. Kathleen Harrington “Kit” Moloney,  age 50, of Pevely, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born June 19, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Julia R. (nee Reams) and Thomas Francis Moloney. She is survived by her daughter Molly Moloney of Seattle, Washington, her brother Patrick Moloney and wife Roxanne of High Ridge, Missouri and her sister Molly M. Moloney of Seattle, Washington. Memorial service to be conducted 4:00 P.M. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, Pevely, with memorial gathering at 3:30 P.M., officiated by Rev. Bill Charleton, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Festus, Missouri.  Memorials in her memory are preferred to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary or Cancer Research. Kitten was the kindest person with the biggest heart.  She always put her family and friends before herself.  Not only was she the best mother, she also enjoyed traveling, reading and being with animals.  She loved fireworks and spending time with all her friends.  Kitten was the strongest and most courageous woman who we will always admire.  She will be greatly missed.

She was a Homemaker; Mary taught Music at Sunrise School; served as organist for the First Baptist Church-De Soto and later at the Calvary Baptist Church-De Soto; Ms. White also was the organist/pianist for many church and community events, weddings, and for several area funeral homes; she also worked for Claude Cook Insurance Agency. Born May 26, 1921 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, she was the Daughter of the late Percy and Mae (nee Smith) Barnes. Stephen Curtis “Curt” Vaughn, age 69, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born May 21, 1942 in Festus, the son of the late Pearl Mae (nee Wright) and Chester Edgar Vaughn. He is survived by his wife Debra (nee Bates) Vaughn, daughters Andrea Vaughn of DeSoto, Missouri, Amy Vaughn of Festus, Stephanie Wix and husband Caleb of Festus, Amanda Warden and husband Tommy of Festus, Brandy Tran of Festus, and Erin Speidel of Crystal City, son Brandon Tran of Festus, two grandsons Dylan Warden and Seth Wix, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters Martha Becker and Nellie Ethel Williams, brothers George, infant Roy L., and Chester Sam Vaughn, and a sister-in-law Nellie (nee Lancaster) Vaughn. He was a machine operator for the Alvey Conveyer Belt Co., member of Faith Baptist Church and the Festus/Crystal City Conservation Club. Visitation 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 2:00 P.M.
