Elinore Lorraine Miller, age 93 of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri. She was born May 20, 1918 in Festus the daughter of the late Cora Josephine (nee Kiefer) and Frank Joseph Wehner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Edward Miller, a sister Lucille LaRose and her husband Jesse and a great-great granddaughter Emma. She is survived by sons Robert C. Miller and wife Carol of Osage Beach, Missouri, Joseph E. Miller and wife Patricia of DeSoto, Missouri, Vincent P. Miller and wife Debra of Arnold, Missouri, a brother Paul Wehner and wife Louise of Festus, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a homemaker, active in Our Lady’s Parish organizations, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Troop 425 Scout Mother’s Club.  She was known for her generosity, she would prepare fantastic cakes and apple squares for any charity event that needed desserts. A memorial mass will be held at Church of Our Lady, Festus at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 25, 2011.  Memorials preferred to Masses, Childhood Leukemia Research or the Boy Scouts of America. Mrs. Miller donated her remains to St. Louis School of Medicine in the hope that others could benefit from her passing.

Anna Mae Browning, age 101, of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Windsor Estates in Camdenton, Missouri.  She was born February 20, 1910 in Memphis, Missouri, the daughter of Lew and Ada Smith.  She was the youngest of five children.  Her sisters Leitha, Edna, Esther and one brother, Harold, all predeceased her. Anna Mae attended William Woods College and then graduated from the University of Missouri.  She taught at Crystal City and elsewhere for over 40 years.  Many of her former students remember her creative approach to teaching science, her kind and friendly nature, and her mentorship over the years.  Her close friends recall her love of card games, fishing, traveling, and particularly her bridge-club gatherings.  She was an enthusiastic bridge player and continued to enjoy and participate in the game well into her 90’s with her close friends. She was a long-time member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City, where she enjoyed the companionship and fun of the women’s group as they organized fund-raising events.  She especially loved children and touched the lives of many who remember her fondly as “Mrs. Browning”, or “Aunt Anna Mae”.  She was another mom, grandmother, aunt, best friend or role model for many. In 1940, she married Paul Browning who coached at Crystal City and taught math for over 35 years.  He predeceased her in 1994.  While they had no children, they enjoyed visits with nieces and nephews who lived in various U.S. locations.  During the last 6 years, she resided in Camdenton, Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks. Her life was one of giving to others, bringing joy to those close to her, and making every person in her life feel very special. Visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.  Then at, Grace Presbyterian Church, Crystal City, after 10:00 A.M. with services at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2011.  Interment in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crystal City, with Rev. Donald Raymond Crannick, age 72, formerly of Festus, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, Missouri.  He was born January 9, 1939 in Wilhelmina, Missouri, the son of the late Irene Wilma (nee Sagel) and Cecil C. Crannick, Sr. He is survived by his wife Nancy (nee Gegg) Crannick, formerly of Festus, daughters Joyce White and husband Keith of Herculaneum, Missouri, and Donna Hartman and husband Brad of Festus, sons DeWayne Crannick of Spanish Lake, Missouri and Kevin Crannick of Festus, brothers Joseph Crannick of Festus, twins William Crannick and wife Theresa of House Springs, Missouri and John Crannick of DeSoto, Missouri, Marvin Crannick of Festus, Norman Crannick and wife Viola of Festus, and Danny Crannick and wife Coleen of Minnesota, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including his caregiver Jeanie Johnson of Florissant, Missouri. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Lois Krumm and the late husband Lothar, brothers Cecil Crannick, Jr., Melvin Crannick and infant Leo Crannick, and a sister-in-law Sally Crannick. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and a retired maintenance worker with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Memorial Mass to be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church, Crystal City, Missouri with Fr. Letha Ann Revelle Porchey, age 93, residing at the Baptist Home in Ironton, Missouri, formerly of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.  She was born August 15, 1918 in Fredericktown, Missouri, the daughter of the late Bertie Lee (nee Smith) and William Arthur Revelle. She is survived by daughters Frances Ann Behrman of Creve Coeur, Missouri and Mary Ruth Porchey Evans of Festus, Missouri, a son William Ray “Bo” Porchey and wife JoAnn of Leavenworth, Kansas, sister Ada Caby of Stuart, Florida, brother Roy E. Revelle of Fenton, Missouri, sister-in-law Cora Revelle of Pevely, Missouri, grandchildren Debbie Thomas, Bill Porchey and wife Becky, Sister Teresia Benedicta of The Cross “Franny Behrman”, Mary Jo Behrman-Gartner and husband Matt, Emily Clonts and husband Mike, and Elizabeth Gibson and husband Bryan, great-grandchildren Andrew Behrman, Sara and Josie Clonts, Hunter Huffaker, and Brooke and Jordan Peters. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Lee Ellen Porchey Thomas, a son James Harley Porchey, sisters Ann Venable and the late husband Clark, Nina Sparks and the late husband Lee, and Ruth Salisbury and the late husband Charles, brothers Orla Revelle and the late wife Goldie, Lawrence Revelle and the late wife Bessie, and V.A. Revelle, a sister-in-law Rosalie Revelle and a brother-in-law Harold Caby and son-in-law Joe Behrman. She was a graduate of Herculaneum High School, a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church and had worked as a checker at the Ben Franklin and A&P Grocery in Festus.  Private graveside funeral services were conducted at Herculaneum Cemetery, Herculaneum, Missouri. Arrangements were handled under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.

Born April 30, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the Daughter of the late Charles E. and Hazel L. (Rutledge) Ross. Betty Jean Ipock, age 83, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at her residence.  She was born July 28, 1928 in Eminence, Missouri, the daughter of the late Edith (nee Smith) and Clifford Hunt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Willis F. Ipock, a son Clinton Ipock and her 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Jerry Ipock and wife Joy of Festus and Garry Ipock and wife Chris of Crystal City, Missouri, grandchildren Lisa Inman and husband Ricky of DeSoto, Missouri, Christy Ipock Messmer of Festus, JD Ipock of Herculaneum, Missouri, Nathan Ipock of Pevely, Missouri,  Corey Ipock of Maryville, Missouri, Amanda Ipock of Crystal City, Dawn LaRue of Jackson, Missouri and Clinton LaRue of San Diego, California, great-grandchildren Lindsay Inman, Ana Messmer, Justin Messmer, Brittney Ipock, Landon Ipock, Jonathan Herrin Ipock, Jordan Aubuchon, Zoe Ipock, Chloe Ipock and Lilly Birk, a very special niece Edna Paul, and many dear friends. William Keaton Fite, age 91 of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Big Bend Woods Healthcare Center in Valley Park, Missouri.  He was born  July 11, 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas the son of the late Geraldine (nee Sewell) and Frank James Fite.  In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by his first wife Viola Ann (nee Ferguson) Fite and a brother Davis Fite. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Ruth (nee Metzinger) Fite, two sons William Vance Fite and wife Jennifer of Illinois and Timothy Ray Fite of Maplewood, Missouri, a step-daughter Pam Schaffer and husband Frank of St. Louis, Missouri, a brother Daniel Patrick Fite of Houston, Texas, two sisters Betty Jane Powell of Junction, Texas and Evelien Davis of Houston, a sister-in-law Irene Fite of Festus, Missouri, grandchildren Eric Fite and wife Stacy, William “Steve” Fite, Christine Whitehead and husband Kevin, Stephanie Seligman and Angela Seligman. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Hematite, a meat cutter in the grocery business, member of VFW Post #3777 and the American Legion Post #253. He is survived by sons Dennis Schumer, Sr. of Hillsboro, Missouri, Mark Schumer and wife Karen of Chambersberg, Pennsylvania, daughters Shannon Propst and husband Don of Festus, Terry Chapman and husband Leonard of Festus, a daughter-in-law Julia Schumer of Hillsboro, sisters Nora Peterein of Festus, Betty Basler of Festus, Agnes Talken and husband Raymond of Festus, 17 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren.
