Elinore N. Gibson, 86 years, of DeSoto, entered into heaven's rest on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her residence. Born on Augut 16, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan; she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Meletta (nee Emmons) Lashley. She leaves behind her loving husband, Gerald L. Gibson of DeSoto. Elinore enjoyed crafts and camping. She was a member of the DeSoto Church of Christ and was a factory worker for Calk & Sealant Company. Besides her husband, she is also survived by a son, Wayne (Sandra) Moore of DeSoto and a daughter, Barbara (Ronnie) Underwood of DeSoto; six grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Wanda J. Rethwisch, age 84 a resident of Prattville, Alabama left her earthly home and was welcomed by her Lord to her heavenly home on April 1, 2012.  Mrs. Rethwisch was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.  She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Martin Rethwisch; her daughter Janel Kay Rethwisch; two sisters and three brothers.  She is survived by two daughters Arlinda (Travis) Coleman and Retha (Charlie) Brown; two sons Marty (Carrie) Rethwisch and Curtis (Laura) Rethwisch; 12 grandchildren Brent (Andrea) Coleman, Carla (Randy) Salle, Christen (James) Harry, Monica (David) Rowland, Charlene (Paul) Parker, Jana (John) Griffis, Cal and Camden Rethwisch, Austin Berry, Cayla, Carlea and Cali Rethwisch;  12 great-grandchildren, Sophie and Selah Coleman, Cole and Colin Salle, Conner and Anderson Harry, Bralyn and Colby Griffis, Sarah and Ben Parker, Camron Rowland, Caitlyn Rethwisch, one sister Ruth (Del) Pinson;  two sisters-in-law Bridget (Fred) Lauber, Roberta (Mel) Remley and numerous extended family members and many friends.  The family sincerely appreciates the staff and management of GreenSprings Assisted Living facility for the care and concern extended to her during her stay there.  Also, the family would like to thank Baptist Hospice.  The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Prattville on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of her service at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Travis Coleman and Rev. Alice Ann Adams, age 75, of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, formerly of Herculaneum and Festus, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at her residence.  She was born March 26, 1937 in Possum Valley, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Faloh (nee Jolley) and Prentiss White.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Andy Richard Adams, former pastor of First Baptist Church of Festus/CrystalCity, Missouri and a brother Henry Carl “Shorty” White and his late wife Barbara. Brown, age 78, of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born October 11, 1933 in Evergreen, Alabama, the daughter of the late Estelle (nee Jernigan) Arron and William Howard. Howard Dean McClellan, USAF, Ret., age 76, of Dupo, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Illinois.  He was born March 24, 1936 in Patmos, Arkansas, the son of the late Viola (nee Gilley) and George McClellan.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Edna (nee Pollard) McClellan and a brother Lloyd McClellan. He is survived by a son George McClellan of Ft. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Marie (nee Carwitz) Kaufmann, sisters Rose Hubert, Shirley Weidinger and Mary Palermo, brothers Lawrence Kaufmann, David Cissel and Kenny Cissel, brother-in-laws Joe Leon, Rudolph Hubert, Erv Weidinger and Jim Wood and a grandson Chad Anderson. Born April 14, 1940 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, she was the Daughter of the late Cleveland “Pete” and Sue (nee Marshall) Stegall. Margaret "Marge" A. Jennemann, age 89, entered into rest on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri, which was appropriate, because she spent the majority of her career at that very hospital. Marge was born to the late Leonard & Ida (Pendelton) Walgren in St. Louis, Missouri on September 20, 1922. She went on to complete Nursing School and eventually became the first full-time Director of Nursing for Jefferson Memorial Hospital, as it was known then. She was also responsible for the Visiting Nurses Services for the hospital, which was a program she started from the ground up. She also managed to marry her late husband, Robert C. Jennemann, and raise three lovely children. Marge was active in the community, belonging to the American Nurses Association, a member of the First United Methodist Church and W.S.C.S. (womens) at Church. She is survived by her loving family which includes a son, Robert (Donna) Jennemann of Dittmer; daughters: Marilyn (Joe) Davis of Jefferson City and Christine Rogers of Crystal City; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Windorf Walgren. Pastor Steve Richardson will officate the service. Vera “June” Rapp, age 94, of Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at her residence.  She was born June 10, 1917 in Belleview, Missouri the daughter of the late Luvecia (nee McMurtrey) and Albert J. Babcock.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four infant children, a brother A.J. Babcock and sisters Arlene Thompson and Patty Wyse. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Edward Rapp, sons Jerry Rapp and wife Judy of Tomah, Wisconsin, Michael Rapp and wife Sharon of Conway and Eric Rapp and wife Irene of Avoca, Wisconsin, a foster daughter Debra Shephard of Pocatello, Idaho, a sister Bettie Coil of Wildwood, Missouri, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was a teacher in several Missouri schools including Pevely Elementary.  She was an active member of the Lutheran Church in congregations in Missouri, Wisconsin and Arkansas, most recently Peace Lutheran Church in Conway.  She was a past president of the Iron Mountain Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Jevin S. Rolfi, 26, of DeSoto, passed away April 6, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis County.  Mr. Rolfi was a doctor's assistant for Metro Heart Group at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Born March 16, 1986 in Crystal City, he was the son of Dennis and Michelle (Dechau) Rolfi. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a grandmother, Pearl Dechau of St. Louis; a brother, Jed (Kelly and her daughter, Chloe) of Desoto; a sister, Jessica (Bill) Presnell of DeSoto; and two nephews, Zander and Grayson Presnell.  He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Walter Dechau. Funeral services and burial were private. Memorials may be made to the Jevin S. Born January 7,1926 in Potosi, Missouri,  she was the Daughter of the late Joshua David and Jessie Belle (Smith) Wigger. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Arthur B. Skaggs and Bobby Hallmark. Victor Byron Lee, age 48, of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born September 24, 1963 in Dallas, Texas the son of Anita J. (nee Sims) and Robert B. Lee of Duncanville, Texas.  In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Angela D. (nee Pettus) Lee, a son Austin T. Lee and daughter Madison R. Lee both of Festus, a sister Marla Jo Lee of Jenkins, Kentucky, mother-in-law Christine L. Pettus of Bonne Terre, Missouri and father-in-law Kerry Dale Pettus of Caseyville, Illinois. He was the President/Owner of Fabulous Fish Company in St. Louis, Missouri and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus, Missouri where he served on various committees, was a Youth Sunday School teacher and Media Technician.  He was a coach of the Twin City Youth Football League, Junior Achievement Educator, Lindenwood Shooting Team Supporter, Cardinal Care Supporter, Relay for Life Emcee/Supporter and an avid hunter and wildlife supporter. Tina L. Declue, age 46, of DeSoto, entered into rest at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Tina was born June 11, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri to the Late Larry M. Gibbs, and Melba (Brewster) Gibbs of Park Hills, Missouri. Tina was a homemaker and was currently disabled. She married her husband Mark on February 26, 2000 in DeSoto. Tina enjoyed camping and fishing. AECS (Ret) Daniel Joseph Kist, age 53 of Piedmont, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born April 1, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Wanda M. (nee LeClere) Jones of DeSoto, Missouri and Herman J. Kist of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Janet (nee Kelley) Kist, a daughter Danna Walker and her husband Richard of Jacksonville, Florida, a brother Christopher R. Kist and wife Lisa of Kentucky, a sister Charlotte Lynn East and husband Roger of Minnesota and a brother-in-law Stanley Kelley of Patterson, Missouri, his step-mother Sandra Kist, nieces and nephews Scott, Darla and Benjamin East and John and Christina Kist. He is preceded in death by his step-father Donald E. “Gene” Jones, his mother and father-in-law, Alma (nee Morgan) and Clyde V. Kelley, Sr. and a brother-in-law Clyde V. Kelley, Jr. A Gulf War Veteran, he retired from the United States Navy after twenty-two years of active duty achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.  After retirement he and Janet moved to Piedmont where he enjoyed fishing, photography and all of nature. Edward W. Rapp, age 99 of Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 in Conway.  He was born August 19, 1912 in Pevely, Missouri the son of the late Mary E. (nee Heiner) and Edward G. Rapp.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Vera “June” (nee Babcock) Rapp, four infant children, a brother Roland Rapp and two sisters Eleanor Fleischer and Marie Shafer. He is survived by sons Jerry Rapp and wife Judy of Tomah, Wisconsin, Mike Rapp and wife Sharon of Conway, Eric Rapp and wife Irene of Avoca, Wisconsin, a foster daughter Debra Shephard of Pocatello, Idaho, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He began his teaching career at Koch Valley School, near Pevely, and then taught at Pevely Elementary School.  He spent many years as a history teacher and then principal at Crystal City High School.  He was an athlete and scholar, completing an M.S.E. at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.  He had a life-long interest in history. He was an active member of the Lutheran Church in congregations in Missouri, Wisconsin and Arkansas, most recently Peace Lutheran Church in Conway. Visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 27, 2012 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, then at Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely after 1:30 P.M. with funeral services at 2:30 P.M. Roberta Mae Thuesen, age 86, of St. Charles, Missouri, formerly of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Peters, Missouri.  She was born April 9, 1926 in Herculaneum, Missouri, the daughter of the late Myrtle Clementine (nee Politte) and Otto Higgins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul James Thuesen, sisters Dorothy Miller, Cecelia Richardson, Alberta Higgins, Norma Rush, Sarah Burlage and Bertha “Bootsie” LaPlant, brothers Eugene “Lester” Higgins, Leonard Higgins, John Higgins, Ralph Higgins, Chester Higgins and Donald Higgins. She is survived by a daughter Paulette “Ann” Politte of St. Charles, Missouri, a son Michael Nelson Thuesen and wife Ellen of Littleton, Colorado, sisters Jeanette Smock of Festus and Shirley Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was raised in the Assumption Catholic Church parish in Herculaneum, was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and formerly worked at the Pittsburg Plate Glass plant in Crystal City. LCpl Logan Mitchell Benoist, USMCR, age 23, of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 in Jefferson County, Missouri.  He was born August 26, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is survived by his parents Debra (nee Boxdorfer) and Mitchell J. Benoist of Festus, his twin brother Lance Benoist of Ballwin, Missouri, a sister Nicole Benoist Pizzo and husband George of DeSoto, Missouri, grandparents Roy Lee “Buzz” and Carole Boxdorfer of Festus and Marilyn Shelley of DeSoto, and a nephew Owen Pizzo of DeSoto. He is preceded in death by grandfathers Alvin Charles Benoist and Delno Shelley. He was a 2007 graduate of Festus High School, a 2008 graduate of the Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy and served in the United States Marine Corps during operation Iraqi Freedom. Iwilda Leatrice Combs, age 80, of Barnhart, Missouri passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at her home.  She was born October 1, 1931 in Warm Springs, Arkansas the daughter of the late Sarah (nee Whittenburg) and Paul Goheen.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Rev. James Lee Combs and a brother Dorsey Goheen. She is survived by daughters Linnie Thatch and husband Scott of Hillsboro, Missouri, Connie Jines of Barnhart, Kelly Erxleben of Barnhart and Vicki Barley of Festus, Missouri, a son Randall Combs and wife Ann of Barnhart, 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. Lonnie Leroy Brewer, age 60, of Festus, entered into rest at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Friday, April 24, 2012. Born March 24, 1952 in Forest City, Arkansas to the late Coleman and Margaret (Frames) Brewer. He served in the Marines from 1970 thru 1972 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Survived by his loving family which includes sons: Jason Brewer of Cadet and Dustin (Rexanna) Brewer of Cadet; daughter, Jennifer Brewer of Potosi; grandchildren; Abigail, Jade, Albany, Samantha, Jessica and Curtiss Brewer; a brother, David Brewer of Arnold; sisters: Sherry Adee of Ottawa, KS, Annette Brewer of Belton, MO, Pam (Tom) Leitnaker of Ottawa, KS, and Sheila Brewer. Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing his guitar. He had retired after working as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas and a truck driver for Tower Rock out of Ste. Genevieve. Schmidt and husband Jeff, Donald Brandt and wife Kim, Andrew Brandt and wife Jenni, Eric Brandt and wife Traci, Michael DeAngelo, Melissa DeAngelo, Jerry Lee Wyatt, III, Jennifer Arthur and partner Kim and 11 Great-Grandchildren. She was a very active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Women’s activities and a very active participant in her children’s activities at school and the Girl Scouts of America. Lindell William "Pete" Riney, age 73, entered into rest April 25, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City. Born February 26, 1939, in St Marys, Missouri, to the late Quandell and Sylvia (Coffman) Riney. He attended Douglas High School in Festus and Crystal High School; he attended Immaculate Conception Church in St Marys and Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City. He spent all of his adult years in Cincinnnati, Ohio, where he worked until he retired; he worked and cared for horses and enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends. He returned to Festus Manor until his passing.  He leaves to mourn his passing three brothers: Donald (Mary) Riney of St Louis, James (LaVerne) Riney of St Louis and Winston Riney of Layton, Utah; aunt, Blondell Underwood of Crystal City; uncle, Lester Underwood of Layton, Utah; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary "Frattini" Schnelting, age 56 of DeSoto, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Crystal City, MO. Mary was born on December 19, 1955 in St. Louis, MO to her late parents, Albert and Bertha (Virga)Frattini. Mary lost the love of her life, husband, Melvin "Moose" Schnelting in September 2011. Mary is survived by her sisters, Deborah Hargis of St. Louis and Donna Frattini of St. Louis. She was also preceeded in death by another sister, Gale Conway. Mary graduated from Beauty School and also worked as Secretary for DeSoto Fuels and she enjoyed the Kruiser's Car Club. Carolyn F. Murrie, 68, of Dittmer passed away April 26, 2012 at her home.  Mrs. Murrie was a physical education teacher for the Ritenour School District.  She was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Ware.  Born June 11, 1943 in Alton, Illinois, she was daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Reed) Vinyard. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harry W. Murrie of Dittmer; a son, Mark (Robin) Murrie of Dittmer; a daughter, Mary Ann Murrie of Dittmer; two grandchilden: Brandon and Savannah Murrie of Dittmer; and two sisters: Patricia Gobble of Granite City, Illinois and Deb (Bob) Patterson of East Alton, Illinois. Chester M. Turner, age 59, of Festus, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his Festus residence. Born on June 17, 1952, in St Louis, MO to the late Willie Delmer and Zerilda Juanita (Strickland) Turner. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Sue (Still) Turner, son: Michael (Tammy) Still of McLeansboro, IL, daughter: Catrina (Chris) Schmidt of Festus, MO, grandchildren: Heather Still, Jessica Still, Katie Schmidt, Chris Schmidt Jr and Beth Schmidt, brother: Delmer Turner of Crystal City, MO, sister: Nancy (Frankie) Howard of Farmington, MO and special dogs: Bella and Tink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: James Turner and Monty Turner. He was a retired utility operator for Productions Castings, Inc. He also served as a firefighter for the Dunklin and Festus Fire Departments for 27 years. He was an active organizer for Cystic Fibrosis, March of Dimes and Muscular Dystrophy. He was a member of the Ward Chapel AME Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoes and woodworking. She is survived by daughters Debra Biddle of Topeka, Kansas and Robin Hall and husband Albert of Ballwin, sons Joe Biddle and wife Cindy of Shawnee, Kansas and James Biddle M.D. of Ashville, North Carolina, a sister Pat Owens and husband Jim of Burneyville, Oklahoma, a brother Bob Stauss and wife Jill of Rose Hill, Kansas, grandchildren Ahley LoParo and husband Matt, Tyler Gordon, Trisha Imbler and husband John, Amber Farr and husband Robert, Alex Hall and Mira Biddle Tieman, and great-grandchildren Lane and Alyssa Chaddon and Calvin and Chase Imbler. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Festus, had worked in the office for Benson Electric in St. Louis, Missouri and was a co-owner of The Nutrient Etc., a supplement store in Ashville. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Alma (nee Boyer) Drozkowski, his step-son Attorney Ronald Coleman and 5 brothers. He is survived by sisters Rose Anielack and Marcella Richstatter both of Webster Groves, Missouri, dear friends Tina Vivrett of DeSoto, Missouri, Al Michler of Festus, Jim and Sue Moore of Festus, Edna Warden of Festus and Madeline Williams of Festus. He was a United States Army World War II veteran, a retired warehouseman for International Shoe, a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, VFW Post #3777 and a volunteer at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. Visitation 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.  Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City officiated by Fr. Doris R. Parker, age 81, of  De Soto, Missouri, passed away April 30, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO. She worked at De Soto Shoe Factory. Born February 26, 1931 in De Soto, Missouri, she was the Daughter of the late Leonard Pope and Lucy (nee Hoff) Pope Rulo and Step-Father: Thomas “Press” Rulo. She is survived by her husband Albert H. Parker, De Soto, MO; One Son: Hank Parker, St. Louis, MO; Brothers & Sisters: (preceded in death by siblings, George (Mabel) Pope; Thurman (Dorothy) Pope, Charles (Martha) Pope, and Virginia Valle) Brother-in-Law: L. William J. "Bill" Mahn, 89, DeSoto, entered into rest on April 30, 2012 at his residence. Bill was born in DeSoto on September 16, 1922; he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Aurelia C. (Prendergast) Mahn, Sr. He leaves behind his loving wife, Irmalee (Ritterbush) Mahn of DeSoto. Mr. Mahn was the owner of Wm. J. Mahn Plumbing. He is also survived by three sons: William J. "Bill" (Beverly) Mahn, Jr. of Jupiter, Florida, Mike A. (Ginny) Mahn, Indiana and Mark S. (Alexandra) Mahn of DeSoto and a daughter, Lee Ellen Mahn of DeSoto; four sisters, Mary Collins, Ellen Mahn and Margaret Parmeley all of St. Louis and Patricia "Pat" (Ralph) Noack, DeSoto; Eight grandchildren: Ben Mahn, Jason Mahn, Nick Mahn, Stephanie Mahn, Connor Mahn, Grant Mahn, Jake Hertenstein and Ross Hertenstein and one great-grandchild, Olivia Mahn. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Daniel J. "DJ" Mahn, Edward J. "Ed" Mahn, Gerald J. "Jerry" Mahn, Vincent J. "Fly" Mahn and Robert J. Mahn; and one sister, Marcia Mahn. "Bill" served during World War II, in the First Army Infantry 104th Timberwolf Division under General Terry Allen in the 804th Ordinance. After 12 days on a troop ship crossing the Atlantic, the 104th was the first division to go directly from New york to the coast of Cherburg France. Often engaged in heavy fighting, crossing rivers, they pushed the German Army back through Belgium, Holland, France and Germany until meeting the Russians at Halle Germany. 195 days of continuous combat is believed to be a record. Their motto "NOTHING IN HELL CAN STOP THE TIMBERWOLVES" BECAME FAMOUS. Victory Europe Day, May 7, 1945, marked the surrender of the German Army. The 104th were sent back to the U.S. and given furloughs, and told the unit was being readied for departure to Japan. With the surrender of the Japanese, the soldiers of the 104th were discharged. James Charles Welch, Jr., age 73, of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born November 10, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Vivian Maxine (nee Clemens) and James Charles “Grandpa” Welch. He is survived by his wife, Sally P. (nee Thayer) Welch, daughters Kim Portell and husband Tim of Festus and Melodey Meharry and husband Chris of Windsor Ontario, Canada, sons James Welch, III and wife Lisa of Park Hills, Missouri and Jeff Welch and wife Sarah of Festus, sisters Patricia V. Slover of Belleville, Illinois, Lou Clemens and husband Bill of Festus, Sandee Turk and husband Dave of Mexico, Missouri and Pamela S. Craine of Fulton, Missouri.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Anthony Portell, Joe, Andy and Suzanne Barrios, James Welch, IV, Jonathan, Connor and Allyson Welch, Garrett Thurman and Kinsley Welch and 3 great-grandchildren, Julian Welch, Kayla and Carter Barrios. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus, the Owner/Operator of his own local business JC Services, a union electrician and carpenter. Memorial gathering from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at  6:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus officiated by Rev. Randy Casey of Festus.
