Margaret Brown, age 83, of Bloomsdale, Missouri formerly of Pevely, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Bloomsdale, Missouri.  She was born June 18, 1929 in Cuba, Kansas the daughter of the late Mary Louise (nee Minard) and John Guernsey King. She is survived by a daughter, Dianna K. Dill of Bloomsdale, sons Roy Brown of Bloomsdale, Ron Brown and wife Glenda, Tim Brown of DeSoto, Missouri and Greg Brown and wife Mary of Bloomsdale, a sister Gertrude West of Concordia, Kansas, grandchildren Kimberly Courtney and husband Tim, Lindsay Brown, Dave Brown and wife Sarah, Brandy Brown Allmeyer, Daniel Brown, Julie Dill, Lisa Dill, Daniel Dill and wife Samantha, Rachel Brown, Melissa Brown (Mark Dickens) Cage, Alan J. Brown, Katrina Brown, Matthew Brown, Tom Nelms and Shawn Casteel, 19 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Anna Marie Brown Abernathy and a son Alan G. Brown. Memorial Mass at Assumption Church in Herculaneum, Missouri at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2012 officiated by Fr. Joseph Wormek, Pastor.

Caridad V. Sitzes, 70, of DeSoto entered into rest on Monday, July 2, 2012 at her residence. She was a homemaker, liked Bingos, loved cleaning her house and loved keeping her family in line. Born June 25, 1942 in McArthur, Leyte, Philippines; she was the daughter of the late Leon and Selvestra (Valeda) MoQuia. She was married to her husband, Donald Sitzes, on June 25, 1963 in the Philippines and he resides in DeSoto. In addition to her husband she is survived by children: Michael (Pamela) Sitzes of DeSoto, Carol (Michael) Novinger of Pittsburg, CA, Connie (Robert) Fudge of DeSoto, Cathy Sitzes of Oakland, CA and Cheryl Sitzes of DeSoto; numerous brothers and sisters; and four grandchildren, Destiny, Amber, Robert Lee and Andrew. David Lee "Fluke"  Pennick, age 74, of Festus, MO entered into rest suddenly on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his residence. Born on January 23, 1938 in Van Buren, Missouri to the late Harold and Mildred (Callahan) Pennick. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years: Aurelia "Reedy" (Aubuchon) Pennick of Festus, MO, daughters: Linda Sue Cartwright of St Louis, MO, Mindy (Jim) Horstmann of St Louis, MO, Patty (Mike) Moore of St Louis, MO, Cindy (Terry) Wetz of Villa Ridge, MO, Barb Miller of Florissant MO, Jan (Joel) Knobe of Florissant, MO and Lynn (Steve) Beckemeyer of Florisssant, MO, sons: Davey Pennick of St Louis, MO, Mark Pennick of St Louis, MO, and Paul Pennick of St Louis, MO, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother: Robert (Sandy) Pennick of Cascade, MO, and sisters: Doris (the late Walter) Bozich of St Louis , MO, Pat (Rich) Flotron of Festus, MO and Sue (the late John) Harding of Milford, IN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Jim Pennick and Dale Pennick. David was a retired St Louis City fireman and I.B.E.W. Local 1 electrician. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. He was a craftsman, always willing to use his talents to help others. He liked spending time outdoors and most of all adored every moment spent with his loving wife of 28 years. Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 5 at 4pm at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus. Visitation was from 2pm-4pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Our Lady Catholic Church.

Pauline F. Light, age 80, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Barnes Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born June 21, 1932 in Autry, Missouri the daughter of the late Ada Bell (nee Meyer) Fugate and the late John Harbison. She is survived by her husband Jake E. Light, sons Jake E. Light Jr. and wife Phyllis of Festus and Jim R. Light and wife Jan of Barnhart, Missouri, a nephew that was raised as a son Alan Barton of Farmington, Missouri, grandchildren Stacey McCrary and husband Dan, Jim R. Light Jr., Terri Clark and husband Mark, and Tiffany Marie Light, great-grandchildren Sophia, Avery, Connor and Logan, a sister Nadine Thompson of Banner, Missouri, a half-sister Mary Walsh and husband Jim of Belleville, Illinois and half- brothers Andy Harbison and wife Gena of Baldwin, Illinois and David Harbison and wife Janet of Millstadt, Illinois. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father Carl B. Fugate, an infant sister Imogene Harbison and brother Robert Harbison. She was a former member of the Elk Creek, Missouri Baptist Church. Visitation 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.  Funeral Services 10:00 A.M. Allen E. "Tiny" Ader, Sr., 73, of Herculaneum, formerly of DeSoto, entered into rest on July 6, 2012 at Scenic View Nursing Center. He was a master printer and a school bus driver for DeSoto Public School District. Born September 30, 1938 in Huzzah, Missouri; he was the son of the late, William C. and Agnes M. (nee Taylor) Ader. His wife, Mary Ann (Oglesby) Ader preceded him in death, on December 25, 2011. He was the father of Allen E. (Jean) Ader, Jr, Paragould, Arkansas and Robert D. Ader of DeSoto; grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Tamara, Rochelle and Wesley and 1 great-grandchild; he was a brother to William Joseph Ader of DeSoto, William Raymond Ader, DeSoto, Robert A. Ader, also of DeSoto and Victoria (Harry) Stevenson of Hillsboro. Mr. Ader was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, William C. Ader, Jr. and John Ruben Ader, Jr.and one sister, Evelyn Shimkus. Entombment at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery will be private. Memorials/Donations: to the family of Alen E. "Tiny" Ader, Sr. family.

Darwin “Tom” Heberlie, age 64, of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his home.  He was born February 11, 1948 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri, the son of the late Francis (nee Beasley) and Gilbert Heberlie Sr. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (nee Welty) Heberlie, daughters Darla Williams and husband Preston III of Festus, Missouri and Kim Drury and husband Adam of Festus, grandchildren Kristina Jean Williams, Thomas Preston Williams and Elynn Rose Drury, a great-grandson Koltin Paul Bahr, sisters Paula Jakust of Highland, Texas, Judy Jett and husband Dave of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Tina Schweigert of Bloomsdale and Karen Boland of Bloomsdale, brothers Gilbert “Sonny” Heberlie and wife JoAnn of Festus, Gary “Lightning” Heberlie and wife Gloria of Minnith, Missouri, Percy Heberlie of Highland, Texas, Jerry Heberlie and wife Karen of Ste. Genevieve and Terry “TJ” Heberlie and wife Rose of Perryville, a sister-in-law Beverly Heberlie, and a dear friend Richard Frank of Grosse Ile, Michigan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Donna Gowen and her late husband Ben and Sharon Roth, and a brother Larry Heberlie. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and a retired foreman from Bartch Roofing Co., Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri and member of  local #2 roofers union. Billy Jones, 65, of Dittmer passed away July 7, 2012 in Cedar Hill.  Mr. Jones was a welder for McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing and a member of International Machinist and Aero Space Workers Local 837.  He was active with a local re-enactors group.  Born May 12, 1947 in Braggadocio, he was the son of the late Vernon Jones and Lillian Henry. He is survived by his wife, Martha J. Jones of Cedar Hill; a son, Jesse V. Jones of Winfield; a brother, Gary (Sue) Jones of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters:  Fran (Weldon) Crawford of St. Louis, Pam (Jeff) Boyher of Chesterfield and Paula (Charles) Beard of Ballwin; three grandchildren:  Julie Frost, Lola Jones and Dylan Jones; and three great-grandchildren:  Dillon, Logan and Tyler Frost.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Jones. A memorial gathering was held July 15 at the Community Covenant Church in Kirkwood, officiated by the Rev. Eve Tousseau.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home DeSoto Chapel.

Brian Charles Roth, age 55, of Herculaneum, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born November 9, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Doris (nee Partney) Carlin and the late Irvan Anthony Roth. He is survived by his wife Brenda (nee Whobrey) Roth, daughter Dawn Thompson and husband Bobby of Hillsboro, Missouri, grandsons Beau and Blaine Thompson, sister Theresa Collier of Hillsboro, brothers Bruce Roth and wife Bridgett Roth of Festus and Timothy Layton of Chesterfield, Missouri, mother-in-law Doris Gibson of Festus and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Layton, brother-in-law John Collier and father-in-law Francis “Nippy” Gibson. He was a member of Selma American Baptist Church of Festus, served in the United States Air Force and was a retired carpenter with the Carpenter and Construction Laborers Union. Jimmie Diggs "James" Haithcoat, age 78, of Festus,  MO, entered into rest on Monday, July 9, 2012 at his residence. Born on June 6, 1934, in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Baker and Hazel (Moss) Haithcoat. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years: Evelyn K. (Schneider) Haithcoat, son: Michael (Sharisse) Haithcoat of Festus, MO, daughters: Brenda Harper of Crystal City, MO and Robin Thorne of Sanford, FL, grandchildren: Josh Wendt, Samantha Brumit, Beverly Brumit, Zach Wendt and Caleb Joseph Willem, brothers: Bill (Beverly) Haithcoat of Big Cabin, OK and Tom (Juanita) Haithcoat of Imperial, MO, sisters: Vicki (the late Pete) Hatchett of Scottsdale, AZ, Toni (David) Van Fossen of Circleville, OH, and Terri (the late Bill) Jackson of Scottsdale, AZ, brother in law: David (Marcia) Schneider of Lemay, MO, nieces, nephews and special dogs: Chachette, Little Bit, Socks and Neo. He was a carpenter for Kloster Construction in St Louis. He was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed Cardinal baseball, racing slot cars and making model airplanes. Peggy Lou Raley, age 80, of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home.  She was born October 21, 1931 in Crystal City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Florence Vivian (nee Vest) and Joseph Bennett. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Raley, son Mike Raley and wife Leslie of Ballwin, Missouri, daughters Juli Adams of Manchester, Missouri and Dawn Pirtle and husband Jim of Crystal City, Missouri, sister Bonnie Wibbing of Mesa, Arizona,                      4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son-in-law Jerry Adams and brother-in-law Bill Wibbing. She retired after 24 years as secretary at Festus Senior High School. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City and the Missouri State Educational Secretaries Association. Visitation 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus with funeral services 10:00 A.M. Born March 16, 1932 in De Soto, MO, he was the Son of the late John and Iola E. (nee Wagner) Buehn. He was also preceeded in death by his Wife, the late Margaret Mary (nee Schlett) Buehn. Bernard O’Brien, Age: 89, of Hillsboro, MO, passed away July 13, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO. He was a Farmer. Born July 19, 1922 in Cedar Hill, MO, he was the son of the late Arthur & Susan (McNamee) O’Brien. He was also preceded in death by his Wife, the late Lena Marie (Wynn) O’Brien. He is survived by his Children: Bernard “Buddy” (Debra) O’Brien – Hillsboro, MO and Joyce (Larry) Uelsmann – Benton, MO (preceded in death by daughter, Patricia O’Brien); Brothers & Sisters: Loretta Hardt, High Ridge, Bill (Marie) O'Brien, De Soto, and Bernice Markham, High Ridge (preceded in death by siblings Ed O'Brien, Arthur O'Brien, and Margaret Kuese); Grandchildren: Tina Barrale. Lazetta Alma Bockbrader, age 94, of Pevely, Missouri passed away Saturday July 14, 2012 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Crystal City, Missouri. She was born October 27, 1917 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of the late Frieda (nee Moser) and Arthur Striggow. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Fred Bockbrader, Sr. and son-in-law Michael Potrzeboski. She is survived by daughters Pat Potrzeboski of Pevely, Sandy Velez of Clear Water, Florida, Nancy Giaimo and husband Fred of Perrysburg, Ohio, son Paul F. Bockbrader, Jr. and wife Margaret of Ohio, Oregon and grandson Nicholas Potrzeboski, II of Pevely. She was a homemaker and a Member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely. Memorial service 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely, Missouri officiated by Dr. M. Mart Thompson, Pastor and Rev. Minnie Inez Hulvey, 83, of Festus, entered into rest on July 15, 2012 at Baisch Nursing Center, DeSoto. Mrs. Hulvey was a housewife. She enjoyed gospel music and attending church at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in DeSoto. Born January 26, 1929 in Rector, Arkansas; she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ruth Alice (Chapman) Gardner. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Kenneth Hulvey. Mrs. Hulvey was the mother of Charles Ray Hulvey of Festus; a sister to Dolly Wagster of Rector, Arkansas, an aunt to Russell Gardner of Little Rock, Arkansas, Nick Largent, Bret Largent both of Festus, Eric Largent of DeSoto and Ronnie Franklin of Belleville, Illinois. Besides her husband and her parents, Inez was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Gardner, Raymond Gardner and L.J. Gardner and one sister Lola Mae Runton.

He was born January 25, 1938 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Mary Frances (nee Bollinger) and William Robert Ellis. He is survived by his wife Kathleen “Kathy” (nee Langelier) Ellis, sons Michael Ellis and wife Brenda of Herculaneum, Missouri, Brian Ellis and wife Heather of Herculaneum, and Steven Ellis and wife Maggie of Festus, a daughter Mindy McDonald and husband Randy of Festus, a sister Linda E. Benson and husband David of Bonne Terre Missouri and grandchildren Zach Bollinger, Chastity Pashia, Charlie Ellis, Julia Ellis, Maddie Ellis, Trent Ellis, Conner McDonald, Calvin Ellis and Owen Ellis. He was a Missouri National Guardsman activated during the Berlin Missile Crisis, a retired Production Technician at Dow Chemical Company in Pevely, Missouri for 32 years and a member of Church of Our Lady in Festus. He is survived by his wife Margie Valley (nee Gouskos) Roth, daughters Sharon Burger and husband John of Festus, Kathy Masterson and husband Anthony of Festus, Kristie Ray and husband Chad of Festus and Holly Wondell and husband Doug of Festus, sons Mike Bourisaw of Festus, Mark Bourisaw of St. Peters, Missouri and Peter Roth and wife Wendy of Festus, grandchildren Kelly Jemtrud, Stacy Cowan, Lindsay Bourisaw, Nicky Walker, Ian Bourisaw, Tony and Dylan Roth, Oriana Kennedy, Afton, Emily and Logan Ray, Katie and Greyson Wondell and Nick Masterson, great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kerry Jemtrud, Tia Pratt, Bryce Cowan, Nolen Bourisaw, Jacob and Josh Walker. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Genevieve E. (nee Dalton) Secrease and a granddaughter Elizabeth Sohn. He is survived by his second wife Lois Qualls, a son James C. Secrease, Jr. and wife Valerie of Souderton, Pennsylvania, daughters Genia McGinnis of Ava, Missouri and Carla Sohn and husband Kevin of Festus, Missouri, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Festus, a retired process technician for the Owens Glass Company for 37 years, a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, a private aircraft mechanic and pilot, and former drag racer. Trenton Jacob “TJ”  DeBoor, age 85, of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus.  He was born July 15, 1927 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Hattie (nee Gendron) and Clarence DeBoor. He is survived by his wife Melba J. (nee Schatzle) DeBoor, daughters Yvonne Boyer and husband David of Festus, Amanda Jackson and husband Terry of Willow Springs, Missouri and Barbara Persky and husband Stewart of Chesterfield, Missouri, sons Charlie DeBoor and wife Cheryl of Crystal City and James M. DeBoor and wife Shelley of Fenton, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a sister Maxine Adams of Dietrich, Illinois. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Jack DeBoor and his late wife Margie, a sister Bonnie Sue Matlock and a brother-in-law Charles Adams. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Church of Our Lady where he served as an usher.  He formerly worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Crystal City, in maintenance at the St. Pius Monastery and was head of maintenance at Jefferson College before retiring as a mail carrier with the Festus Post Office.  He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1230 and a life member of VFW Post #3777. Rolla E. “Duke” Herbert, Jr., age 76, lifelong resident of Crystal City, Missouri, and more recently of Festus, Missouri, passed away July 22, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City after a short bout with brain cancer.  He was born November 3, 1935 in Festus the son of the late Velma Gladys (nee Tucker) and Rolla Edward Herbert, Sr.  Mr. Herbert graduated from Crystal City High School in 1953 and from Central Methodist College in 1957.  He then went on to teach at Herculaneum High School where he also served as Principal.  After a brief stint away from Education, he came back to Jefferson County and taught and coached at Crystal City High School and at Herculaneum High School.  Coach Herbert’s successful basketball teams won numerous conference and district championships and even made two trips to the Missouri State High School Final Four. Duke is survived by his wife of 57 years Beverly (nee Olson) Herbert, three daughters Toni Clippard of Herculaneum, Missouri, Nancy Neal and husband Mickey of Waterloo, Illinois, Kathy (Chris Schell) Russell of Herculaneum and a son C.J. Herbert and wife Daneen of Wildwood, Missouri, eight grandchildren J.B. Doris Lucille McClain, age 92, of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born December 30, 1919 in Hickman County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lucy Bell (nee Adams) and Edward B. Grooms. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Orlan D. McClain and two sisters, Thelma Schroeder and Hester Bates. She is survived by a son Orlan “David” McClain, Jr. and wife Martha De of Gilman, Iowa, a brother Garland Grooms and wife Nadine of Festus, two granddaughters Shannon Elizabeth McClain of Kansas City, Missouri and Monica Christine Baumberger and husband Eric of North Carolina and three great-granddaughters Katie, Aubrey and Lauren Baumberger. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City, the owner/broker of McClain Realty Company, a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and the Festus Housing Authority for eleven years. Mary Alice Almond, age 87, of Festus, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at her home.  She was born May 25, 1925 in Royalton, Illinois the daughter of the late Mary (nee Derbak) and Michael Dohanich. She is survived by daughters, Billie A. Barker and husband Ken of Festus and Bobbie S. Hutchinson and husband John of Dallas, Texas, a son Michael W. Almond and wife Peggy Dolph of Festus, six grandchildren Jamey Almond, Kelly Runnels, Erin Hinkelman and husband Daniel, Kenneth “Brook” Barker, Sarah Frye and husband Douglas and Megan Barker and three great-grandchildren, Edward Jackson, Joseph Runnels and Daniel Hinkelman. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in DeSoto, Missouri, a retired elementary through high school teacher from the Festus R-6 School District and operated Mary Almond Farms.  She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, the Missouri Rural Farms Association, the Missouri Black Angus Association and the Order of the Eastern Star. Hummelsheim, Sr, age 90, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis County, Missouri.  He was born November 8, 1921 in Pevely, Missouri, the son of the late Estella (nee Berninghaus) and Walter J. Hummelsheim. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Alice Lorraine (nee LaPlant) Hummelsheim, sisters Estella “Babe” Nauman and Augusta Hummelsheim and brothers Roy and Walter “Bud” Hummelsheim. He is survived by his second wife Alice M. (nee Ollinger) Viehman-Hummelsheim, son Fred R. Hummelsheim Jr. and wife Pamela M., step-daughter Karen Bauer of St. Louis, step-son Philip Viehman and wife Cathy of St. Louis and grandchildren Nicholas Bauer, Diana Bauer, Eric Viehman and Alex Viehman. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City, Missouri, a member of VFW Post #3777, American Legion #253, the Elks Lodge and Lions Club. Betty Lee (Nee Skiles) Kley, age 80, entered into rest on Friday, July 27, 2012 at her residence in DeSoto. Betty was born September 2, 1931 to the late Frank and Mary (Nee Storey) Skiles in St. Louis, MO. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore “Ted” Bryant Jr., sisters Verna Mae Irvin and Mildred Martin, brothers John, Jim, Robert, William and Raymond Martin and two grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Carol Vassallo and husband John of Yuma, Arizona, Katherine Steimel and husband Tom of Bethany, Illinois, Brenda Fadler and husband Rowdy of Crystal City, Missouri Pamela Beykirch and husband Henry of O’Fallon, Illinois and Stephanie Boyer and husband Mark of DeSoto, Missouri, sisters Esther Parker of Arizona and Lola Olsen and husband Ray of Arizona, brothers Norvel Martin of Festus and Donald “Butch” Martin of Alaska, a sister-in-law Maxine Martin, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City and a retired secretary from the Crystal City Pittsburgh Plate Glass plant. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at a later date at the Presbyterian/ Methodist Cemetery in Festus, to be officiated by Rev. Gerald  Thomas “Jerry”  Hudson, age 54, of Hillsboro, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Hillsboro.  He was born July 9, 1958 in Crystal City, Missouri the son of the late Sylvia (nee Hunt) and Donald Hudson. He is survived by his wife Drusilla L. (nee Moss) Hudson, daughters Jennifer Linhorst and husband John of Crystal City, Jaimie McKeen of Hillsboro, Stephanie Mae Grove of Hillsboro and Lexi Grove of Festus, Missouri, sons Jeremy (Kate Hickman) Hudson of Crystal City, Sam Grove and Logan Grove of Crystal City, a sister Brenda Pulliam and husband Jim of Festus, brothers Ronald Hudson and wife Beth of Herculaneum, Missouri and Lynn Hudson and wife Carol of Festus and two grandchildren, Evie Mae Linhorst and Benjamin Hudson. He was a carpenter in the construction industry. Memorial Gathering from 6:00 P.M., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus until time of Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M.

Christine E. “Chris”  Meyer, age 89, of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born May 13, 1923 in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri the daughter of the late Mary Ann (nee Bonnarnes) and Lawrence Schmidt.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Chalmer “Diney” Meyer, brother-in-laws Donald Stolzer, Carroll Drury, Donald Edwards and Donald Fults and a sister-in-law Maybelle Meyer. She is survived by a son, Ronald J. Meyer and wife Sandra of Festus, daughters Marilyn K. Brooking and husband Bill of Festus, Joyce E. Laiben and husband Mark of Crystal City and Carla S. Harvey and husband Michael of Festus, sisters Marcella Vaughn and husband Tom of Festus, Edna G. Stolzer of Festus, Helen Politte and husband Marion of DeSoto, Missouri and Anna Marie “Mutzi” Drury of Bloomsdale, Missouri, a brother Larry Schmidt and wife Kathleen of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, a retired cook from the St. Pius X High School, the Knights of Columbus #1230 Ladies Auxiliary, the Festus/Crystal City Conservation Club and the Elks #1721 Ladies Auxiliary. Visitation 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus with funeral mass at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City officiated by Fr. Joseph Wormek, Pastor.  Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Memorials preferred to St. Pius X High School.
