Virginia L. Young (nee DeClue) age 74, of Festus, Missouri, passed away on October 1, 2012, at St. Joseph Manor, in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She was born February 26, 1938, in Crystal City, Missouri. She had worked for years at Brophy’s Cafeteria at Jefferson College, in Hillsboro, Missouri. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Hillsboro, Missouri and was an avid bowler. She is survived by, Son-Kelley (Brenda) Young, of Festus, Missouri, Daugther-Tammy Portell, of Potosi, Missouri, Daughter-Micky (Scott) Balsters, of Lewisville, Texas, Son-Richard ( Sandy  Lee) Young, of Bismarck, Missouri, Son-Shawn (Julie Schmidt) Young, of Fenton, Missouri. Sister-Beverly King, of St. Charles, Missouri. Also survived by, 11 Grandchildren and 12, Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by, Husband-Edward F. Young, Father-Joseph “Mic” DeClue, Mother-Dorothy Mae DeClue ( Ramey). Visitation-Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 5 to 8 pm at the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Missouri. Deborah J. Fisher, 53, of Cadet died Oct. 2, 2012 at her home.  Mrs. Fisher was a certified nurse's aide for a nursing home and Christian day care.  She was a member of Rose of Sharon Full Gospel Temple.   Born Jan. 30, 1959, in Paragould, Arkansas.  She was the daughter of Bertha (Carter) Hurt of Piedmont and the late Oliver O. Guffey. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Darrell J. Fisher of Cadet; a son, Arthur "Artie" (Crystal Greenlee) Rankin of DeSoto; a daughter, Debbie Ranken of Cahokia, Illinois; a brother Jerry Price Guffey of St. Louis; a sister, Tammy Ames of Bertram, Texas,; three grandchildren: William, Mason and Josh; a niece, Amy (Jamie) Evans of Vidor, Texas; and one great-niece, Audrey Evans of Vidor, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Carl Hurt; and one daughter, Jennifer Rankin. Funeral services were held Oct 5 at Mahn funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Carl McKalip.  Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in DeSoto. Memorials ma be made to the family.  Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto.

Gladys JoAnne “Yitty” Leutzinger, age 79, of Festus, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus, Missouri. She was born September 28, 1933 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri the daughter of the late Myrtle Genevieve (nee Herzog) and Edward Henry Wehmeyer. She is survived by her husband Thornton D. Leutzinger, Sr., a daughter Sara Burlbaugh and husband Joseph of Grand Saline, Texas, a son Thornton D. Leutzinger, Jr. of South Carolina, sisters Myrts Wehmeyer of Ste. Genevieve and Joyce Turner and husband Rich of St. Charles, Missouri, a granddaughter Tiffany Ruegsegger and husband Chris and great-grandchildren Clayton Simpson and Alyssa Ruegsegger. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sisters Doris Kraenzle, Edna Burke and Elaine Scherer and brothers Edward L. “Bud” Wehmeyer, Wallace “Wally” Wehmeyer, Wadsworth “Washie” Wehmeyer and James “Kaley” Wehmeyer. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, Missouri and the VFW Post #3777 Ladies Auxiliary.  Private family services with interment at National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.  Memorials preferred to Sacred Heart Church.  Arrangements under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, Missouri.

Mary Louise Meier, age 93, of Festus, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at her residence.  She was born January 16, 1919 in Mount Vernon, Missouri, the daughter of the late Della Kate (nee Williams) and Otto Carl Montgomery.   In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John A. Meier, a sister Jeanette (the late Rupert) Walther and brother Paul (the late Lorraine) Montgomery. She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Thurman, her granddaughter Sandra Lee Thurman, great-grandchildren Chelsea and Hayley Thurman, and a sister Dorothy (the late Harold) Scott of Festus. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Festus, the Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was active with her husband and daughter in the operation of the family business, Meier Motor Company in Crystal City, Missouri.Visitation 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus officiated by Rev. Raymond L. Schmidt, age 70, of Festus entered into rest Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St Anthony's Medical Center, St Louis. Born September 21, 1942, in St Louis, MO, to the late Robert and Mary Ann (Becker) Schmidt. He was a painter/contractor, served in the Army Reserves and was a member of Elks Lodge 1721 and American Legion Post of Bloomsdale. Survived by his loving family which includes his wife of 37 years, Randa (Schumer) Schmidt; sons: Stephen (Kelly) Schmidt of Imperial, Michael (Jennifer) Schmidt of Fenton, MO, Paul Schmidt of Troy, MO and Tracy (Julie) Salisbury of DeSoto, MO; brother, Robert L. (Delores) Schmidt of Farmington, MO; grandchildren: Kyle, Melissa, Brendan, Alexis, Ashley, Logan, Meghan, Tyler, David and Tiffany; and great grandson, Jayden. Landen M. Barnes was born and died October 5, 2012 in St. Louis. Landen was the son of Kyle and Danielle (Thurmond) Barnes of DeSoto. In addition to his parents, Landen is survived by his twin, Trevor Austin Barnes: another brother, Loguen Barnes; two grandmothers, Tammy Thurmond of DeSoto and Cathi Barnes of Crystal City; a grandfather, Mike Wallenbrock of Crystal City; three great-grandparents: Loretta Thurmond of DeSoto and Mike and Eileen Barnes of Festus; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a grandfather; Oliver Thurmond; and an uncle, Robert Thurmond. Betty Ann Honold, age 87, of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  She was born March 29, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Lydia (nee Fabre) and Alvin Mueller. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Andrew Honold.  She is survived by sons J. Michael Honold and wife Diana of DeSoto, Missouri and John Andrew Honold of St. Charles, Missouri, grandchildren Melanie, Justin, Kim, Kevin, Travis, Clay and Ivan and great-grandchildren Kyle, Alexandra, Dakota, Connor, Emma, Reid, Alison and Ariel. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City and a commercial accountant. Visitation 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. She is survived by her husband Stephen Jamirson of DeSoto, Missouri, her daughter Stephanie Mooney and husband Homer of Bloomsdale, Missouri, her son Jason Jamirson and wife Annie of Bloomsdale, brothers Melvin “Duke” Jones and wife Mary of Salem, Missouri, Bill Jones and wife Kathy of Florida, a sister Verla Burdette and husband Cliff of Maryland, grandchildren Tyler and Zachary Jamirson, Paige and Sumer Mooney, and Madyson and Eve Jamirson. Franklin Woodrow Furlan, Jr., age 55, of Pevely, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born January 14, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Evelyn (nee Miller) and Franklin W. Furlan, Sr. He is survived by a step-son Chris (Peggy Burgan) Wegman of Pevely, and a host of other friends and loved ones. He was a dump truck driver and mechanic, DJ and sound man for numerous events around the area. Memorial service 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Jefferson Barracks Park Ampitheatre located off of Bagby Street in St. Louis County.  Arrangements under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.

Michael Alan Watson, age 58, died Friday, October 12, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Watson was a project manager for CDM Smith and a member of Fort Caroline Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was a graduate of DeSoto High School, and Jefferson College, and a former member of First Baptist Church in DeSoto. He was born August 22, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee to William W. and Emma Lou (nee Hooker) Watson. In addition to his parents, and wife Cherie, other survivors include: his children Micah (Ali) Watson, Christopher Watson, Andrea (Jeremy) Alvarez, Christopher (NIcole) Thirtle; grandchildren Jay and Ace Alvarez, Isaiah, Devyn and Addison Thirtle, and Ryan McCann; siblings Donna (John "Pete") Watson Dawes, Steve (Diane) Watson, Suzanne (Brian Dreckshage) Watson, David (Jane) Watson, Jeff (Paige) Watson; nieces and nephews Julie (Josh) Wigger, Katie Dawes, John (Karen) Watson, Emily (Matt) Androff, Jeremy & Jillian Watson, Connor, Kieran and Braden Watson, and great-niece Kyndall Wigger; and many cousins and friends. Jim Varnel, 41, of French Village, MO, entered into rest on October 14, 2012 from injuries of a  motorcycle accident in St. Francois County. Mr. Varvel was a truck driver for Werner Enterprises and a veteran of the US Army, having served in DeSert Storm.  He was born in Iowa City, Iowa on December 14, 1970; the son of Rick Varvel of Tulsa, OK and Nancy (Matthews) Tsivinsky of Dexter, MO. William Dale “Bill” Bader, Sr., age 55, of Festus, Missouri passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  He was born August 11, 1957 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Carla Jean (nee Ehler) Corbett and the late August E. Bader. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son William D. Bader, Jr., his step-father Gretson Corbett and sisters Margaret Sue Bader and infant Laura Lee Bader. He is survived by his son Steven Eugene Bader of Festus, a grandson William D. Bader, III, brothers Michael Bader and Anthony Bader, his step-mother Sue Bader of Potosi, Missouri and a daughter-in-law Jamie Bader. Charles “Stanley” Cain, age 62 of Mapaville, Missouri passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri. He was born June 5, 1950 in Sikeston, Missouri the son of the late Charles Cain and Jeanne (nee Cardin) DeJohn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Reynolds, a great-niece Katie Reynolds and nephews Paul Reynolds and Scott Lee. He is survived by a sister Sue Cain Legaspi Bowman and husband Bobby and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. For the last 17 ˝ years he has lived at Baptist Park Group Home. He has been loved and cared for by the staff and regards them as family.  He also had four housemates Frankie, Gary, Sam and Stacey, who are like his brothers.  He attended church at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, Festus, Missouri. He had an amazing faith in Jesus Christ as his personal savior.  Two of his favorite songs were Jesus Loves Me and How Great Thou Art.  He never doubted that Jesus loved him.Visitation 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 22, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus with funeral services 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 23, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. She was born August 5, 1940 in Herculaneum, Missouri the daughter of the late Irene Christina (nee Noack) and Edward Franklin “Dick” Litton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wayne “Dick” Brewer, a granddaughter Rachel Pedersen and brother-in-law Donald Freiner. She is survived by a daughter Lori Brewer-Pedersen of Arnold, Missouri, a son Jeffrey W. Brewer and wife Shawn of Hillsboro, Missouri, sister Marlena I. Freiner of Herculaneum, grandchildren Emily Pedersen, Nathanael S. Pedersen, Stephen C. Brewer, Aaron R. Brewer and Samuel W. Brewer. She was a member of Herculaneum United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she established “Love Missions” and she was also a member of the Victory Church in Pevely,  the Twin City Optimists Club and Christian Book Sellers Association.  She was the original Owner and Operator of “The Masters Touch” Christian book store in the Twin Cities. Paul W. Kramer, Sr., Age: 89 of De Soto, MO, passed away October 27, 2012 at The Villa’s Nursing Facility, De Soto. He was the retired Manager at Sherman Bros. Dry Goods in Potosi; Bank of America, De Soto. Born December 10, 1922 in Centralia, IL, he was the Son of the late Paul William & Helen (nee Walker) Kramer. He was also preceded in death by his Wife, Berneta (nee Wollard) Kramer, died Aug. 19, 2000. He is survived by his Children: Karen (Dwight) Bonifacius – Brentwood, TN, Paul (Laura) Kramer, Jr. – Ellisville, MO, Helen Kramer- De Soto, MO; Brothers & Sisters: Betty Kracht – Centralia, IL, Shirley Hall – Sandoval, IL, Louis Kramer – Centralia, IL (preceded in death by siblings: Thomas Kramer, Gerald Kramer, Edna Mae Kramer, Helen Louise Kramer); Grandchildren: Michael Bonifacius, Elizabeth Bonifacius, Andrew Kramer, & Victoria Kramer. Member of Church: Hope UCC – De Soto, MO. Jeffery Elliot Worley, age 54, of Festus, Missouri passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born February 28, 1958 in Festus, the son of Mercedes (nee Gerber) Worley of Festus and the late Joe E. Worley, Sr. In addition to his mother he is survived by a son Joshua Worley of Branson, Missouri, brothers Joe E. Worley, Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Ashley Worley of Hillsboro, Missouri, a granddaughter Melody Worley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a steel fabricator for the Wood Smith Steel Company in Imperial, Missouri and an avid motorcycle rider. Memorial Gathering 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. Richard L. Lofton, age 59, of Hillsboro, entered into rest Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Benchmark Healthcare of Festus, Missouri. He had worked as a construction inspector at Geo
Technology and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Born November 3, 1953, in Cardwell, Missouri, to the late Earl and Virginia (Williams) Lofton. Survived by his loving family which includes his wife of 25 years, Lorraine (Guilbot) Lofton; son, Jason Lofton of Hillsboro; daughters: Marti Jackson of Ohio, Stephanie Swick of Ohio and Sarah Shoffner of North Carolina; brothers: John Lofton of Wildwood and Donald Lofton of Poplar Bluff; sister, Cathy Schweigel of Webster Groves; and 6 grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Steve Lofton. He enjoyed studying geology and he loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Olivia Marie Stoney, age 72, of DeSoto, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born February 22, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Iva (nee Gore) and Jessie Rosales.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Ray Stoney. She is survived by a son Daniel Stoney of DeSoto, grandchildren Michelle and Brian Stoney, brothers Anthony and Daniel Rosales of St. Louis, Missouri and sisters Carol Hodges of O’Fallon, Missouri and Gloria Gowin of Wood River, Illinois. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Joseph and Richard Rosales. Memorial Gathering 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, Missouri officiated by Fr. Walter J. “Buzz” Krahn, age 66, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away on October 31, 2012, at his home. He was born July 08, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri. Walter and his wife Cindy were married on December 11,1982, in Belleview, Missouri. He was an Electrical Supervisor for the Doe Run Company, a Naval Vietnam Veteran, member of AARP, Ducks Unlimited and Redeemer Lutheran Church, De Soto, Missouri. He is survived by, Wife-Cindy Kay Krahn, (nee Buff) of De Soto, Missouri, Daughter-TY Krahn, of De Soto, Missouri, Son-Nicholas (Christine) Jost, of Massachusetts, Daughter-Holly (Rob) Studt, of New York, Sister-Shirley Prince, of Texas, Sister-Carole Careaga, of Arizona, Sister-Janet Cline, of Otto, Missouri. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Preceded in death by, Father-Walter F. Krahn, Mother-Gertrude L. Krahn (nee Reiff), Sister-Molly Jeniwein, Brother-Robert Krahn, Sister-Dorothy Tiech.
