Sheila Marie Boyer, age 69, of Arnold, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at her home.  She was born August 22, 1943 in Festus, Missouri the daughter of the late Victoria Leona “Minner” (nee Bauman) and Arthur Pease.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Boyer. She is survived by a son Robert S. “Bob” Boyer and wife Misty of Arnold and two grandsons Cody and David Boyer. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arnold and a cashier at Walmart. Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus and then from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arnold officiated by Jeremy Schultz, Pastor and Andy Becker, Associate Pastor.  Interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arnold.  Memorials preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Toby J. Istre, 48, of DeSoto entered into rest on September 2, 2012 at his residence. Born December 27, 1963 in Crowley, LA; the son of John "Gaston" Istre and the late Barbara (Fontenot)Istre. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnna (nee Harper) Istre of DeSoto whom he wed on June 6, 1994. He liked fishing and the outdoors. He was self-employed in recycling scrapmetal. Besides his father and step-mother,Cora "Sue" Istre of Egan, LA and his wife, he is also survived by a son, Mason Istre of DeSoto; three daughters, Cheyanne Istre, Haley Istre and Alexandra Harper all of DeSoto; three brothers, Trey (Missy) Gordon of Egan, LA, Creig Istre and partner, Ransey of New Orleans, LA, Chad (Marna) Istre of Egan, LA, two sisters, Terri(Tommy) Lejevne of Egan, LA and Toni (Kevin) Guidry of Egan, LA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Dale Donald Lemp, age 76, of Arnold, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at his home. He was born February 26, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Violet (nee Taylor) and Walter Lemp. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Arleen (nee Zielinski) Lemp. He is survived by a son Dave Lemp and wife Kim of Hillsboro, Missouri, daughters Debbie Schuler and husband Gary of Fenton, Missouri, Donna Guldjord and husband Greg of Pevely, Missouri and Diane Schmitt and husband Brian of DeSoto, Missouri, sister Joy Wagoner and husband Jim of St. Louis, brother Kent Lemp and wife Gloria of St. Louis, brother-in-law Greg Zielinski and wife Barb of St. Louis, 6 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. He worked as an Electrical Draftsman and was an avid animal lover. Richard A. "Dick" Christopher, Sr., 71, of DeSoto entered into rest at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on September 3, 2012. Born August 26, 1941 in DeSoto; he was the son of the late Leonard J. and Pauline V. (Erny) Christopher. He wed his loving wife, Joyce (nee Begley) Christopher on September 14, 1963 in St. Louis. Mr. Christopher was a welder/carman for Missouri Pacific/Alton & Southern Railroad. Dick was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, Past Commander and Life Time member of DeSoto Amvets Post #48, Knights of Columbus, played Santa for JRMC Rehab. annual Christmas Party and was an avid camper. He belonged to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Amvets Post #48 to hold memorial service Sunday. Mr. Christopher is survived by his wife, Joyce, a son, Richard A. Christopher, Jr of DeSoto and a daughter, Jodi (Jeff Lewis) Christopher also of DeSoto; adopted grandchildren and God children, Matthew and Emily Politte; a brother, James (MI MI) Christopher of Farmington; three sisters, Patti Howard of Leadwood, Betty Cresswell of Ironton and Judith (James) Speidel of DeSoto.  Kenneth G. Evans, "Ken", 72, of DeSoto entered into rest at St. Anthony's deGreeff Hospice in St. Louis County, September 3, 2012. Mr. Evans was a serviceman for Penske Trucking. He was born in Charleston, Missouri on July 22, 1940; the son of the late Seaman Evans and Ruby Pearl (Rasberry) Evans.Mr. Evans was an outdoorsman; enjoyed fishing, hunting, drag racing, Nascar, spending time with his family, woodworking, and camping. He was a member of Teamster Local #618. He was wed to his loving wife, Patricia, July 26, 1958 in St. Louis. Also surviving is his son, Kenneth Evans, Jr of DeSoto, three daughters, Victoria (George) Wade, St. Louis, Patrina Shepard, Lake St. Louis and Christine (Christopher) Schmitt of Imperial, MO; two brothers, Cecil (Penni) Evans, Romona, CA, and Michael Lyles, St. Louis; Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lyles and a sister, Barbara Maxine Lyles. Pastor Michael Rose will officiate the funeral service. Phillip "Phil" Stroup, age 41, of Bonne Terre, entered into rest at his residence on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Phil was born on November 1, 1970 to the late Phillip Stroup Sr., and Terri (Nee Hobson) Lange of Bonne Terre. He was a self-employed plumber and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Phil is survived by his wife; Michelle Stroup of Bonne Terre, daughters, Jesman Wilson of Mineral Point, and Hunter Stroup of Bonne Terre, his mother, Terri and Step-father, James Lange of Bonne Terre, sisters, Kristin Brown of Bonne Terre and Terra Stroup of DeSoto, aunts; Debbie (Mitchell) Peters of DeSoto and Nancy Woods of Victoria, uncle; Robert (Phyllis) Hobson of Cadet, special cousins; Brandy, Heather, Amanda, and Cord, special nieces; Rebecca and Sarah, special nephew; Nicholas, many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ervin Charles Scherrer, age 85, of DeSoto, Missouri entered into rest September 5, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City. He had retired from Gateway Refrigeration; he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Elks Lodge 1721 and Masonic Lodge 119 of DeSoto. Born September 8, 1926, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to the late Charlie and Jessie (Hill) Scherrer. His wife, Ollie Mae (Rogers) Scherrer preceded him in death October 4, 1997. Survived by his loving family which includes sons: Nelson (Engla) Scherrer of Festus, Roger (Linda) Scherrer of Farmington, Gary (Gloria) Scherrer of Okeechobee, FL and Robert (Sharon) Scherrer of Bonne Terre; daughters: Cathy (Terry) Russell of Farmington and Della "Dee" (Steve) Beydler of Sikeston; brothers: Darrell Scherrer of CA and Jessie "J.C." (Beverly) Scherrer of Festus; sisters: Cora Lee Martin of Corning, AR and Evelyn Racker of Paragould, AR; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and special friend. Mary Jane "Yates" Griffin-Davis, age 65, entered into rest on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO. Mary was born on December 24, 1946 to Gerald D. Yates of DeSoto and the late Alice Lucy (Davis) Yates in Blackwell, MO. She married Bob Davis on April 30, 1999 and resided in Festus, MO. She is survived by her husband and sons; Dennis Griffin of St. Louis, Michael (Christine) Griffin of Imperial, Billy (Kim) Davis of DeSoto, Bobby (Mirenda) Davis of Bonne Terre, daughters; Shannon (Steve) Moss of DeSoto, Heather (Allen) Griffin-Jones of Florissant, Jill Griffin of St. Louis and Ginger (Vince) Corcoran of DeSoto, brother; Dean (Donna) Yates of Blackwell, Sisters; Sharon (Gary) Null of DeSoto and Diane (Sweeney) Pruitt of DeSoto and 7 grandchildren. Terry Lee Robertson, age 62, of Pevely, Missouri passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 in St. Louis County, Missouri.  He was born February 27, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Ernestine (nee Lewis) and Arvel Robertson. He is survived by his wife Christine (nee Schalk) Robertson, sons Christopher Lee Robertson of Pevely, Cory Lee Robertson of Pevely and Jonathan Lee Robertson of Florissant, a daughter Jennifer Lee Huffmon and husband Paul of Florissant, Missouri, a brother Gary Stephen Robertson of St. Louis, a half-sister Patricia Howard and husband Norman of St. Louis, grandsons Zakary Michael Huffmon and Nickolas James Huffmon, his mother-in-law Jeanette Kalk and a sister-in-law Marie Schalk. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a half-brother Jackie Robertson. He was a United States Army Viet NamVeteran, a member of the Christ’s Church in Hillsboro, Missouri and was a small package deliveryman for the Fiers Delivery Service. Alfred Joseph Van Gorp, 76, of St. Louis, returned to Heaven and the waiting arms of his wife, Laura Ann Ressler Van Gorp on September 7, 2012. Fred was born August 31, 1936, to a single mother, Carolyn Van Gorp Schofield during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, in Poplar Bluff, MO. He grew up a 1950's "greaser", hustling pool, working as a soda jerk at the corner drug store. He became a salesman, later to make "real money" he became an insurance man. That lasted 52 years as he became one of region's best insurance executives. Fred leaves behind 2 children and their families: Steven Robert Van Gorp, architect and urban planner, Las Vegas, NV, and his Domestic Partner, Jeremy Catabijan, and Donna Marie Van Gorp Wampler, CEO of We Rent It, Inc, St. Louis, MO, her husband Patrick Wampler, their two sons, Zachary Wampler, and Keith Wampler, Ph.D., Downers Grove, IL, and his wife Natalie Schmitt-Wampler and their new daughter Heidi . Fred's mother, step-father and brother, Harold Van Gorp, a WWII vet, preceded him in death. Fred's brother's-in-law David Ressler, who works at Wicks Pipe Organ, St. Louis, MO, and Melvin James Ressler, retired from Anheuser-Busch, Inc., his wife Judy, of CT, and their 3 children survive him. Fred spent his last 8 years in his DeSoto, MO lake cabin where he tried to retire and forget loosing Laura. The last 4 years he enjoyed the friendship and love of Patricia Davis, her children and grandchildren. Pat nursed him and held him through Home Hospice to the very end. Fred wanted to be cremated with no memorial service. He will later be interred next to Laura at Lakewood Park Cemetery, 7330 Mackenzie, Afton, MO. donations may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 475, Fenton, MO 63026

Michael Ray Bollinger, age 57, of Imperial, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County, Missouri.  He was born December 17, 1954 in Los Angeles, California the son of the late Patricia (nee Blandford) and Sterling Bollinger. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Wamble) Bollinger, son Michael William Faries of DeSoto, Missouri and daughter Trichel Vahey of Imperial, Missouri. He was the owner and operator of a commercial trucking company and a U.S. Army Veteran. Private family services to be conducted at a later date. Memorials preferred to the Veterans Memorial Fund.

Tina M. Hunter, 54, of DeSoto passed away September 8, 2012 at her home.  Mrs. Hunter was a homemaker.  Born October 5, 1957 in St. Louis; she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hazel V. (King) McLaughlin. She is survived by her boyfriend, Tom Hutton of DeSoto; a son, Denny (Chrystall) Hunter of Fenton; a daughter, Rachel (Todd) Guemmer of DeSoto; four grandchildren:  Taylor, Charles, Alexander and Olyvia; a brother, Keith McLaughlin of Florida; and four sisters: Beverly Dean of High Ridge, Barbara (Richard) Lamen of Florida, Brenda (Larry) Moses of troy, Illinois and Karen )Steve) Smith of Cuba, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McLaughlin and a sister, Terry McLaughlin.Funeral services were scheduled for 10 am September 13, at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. John Richard Rigdon, age 70, of Festus, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his residence. Born on October 18, 1941, in Desoto, MO to the late John Walter and Elberta (Pinkston) Rigdon. He is survived by his wife Sandy (nee Basler) Lambarth, sons Christian “CJ” Lambarth of Union, Missouri and Brad Welsh and wife Tasha of Festus, daughters Trisha Parker and husband Chris of Union and Lisa Owens and husband Carl of Ballwin, Missouri, grandchildren Emmett Parker, Meagan, Madelyn and Mackenzie Welsh, Michael and Renee Owens, sister-in-laws Dorothy Holdinghausen and husband Warren of Herculaneum, Missouri, Rose Simkins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mary Lou Brase of Festus, and Jackie Basler of Festus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brother-in-laws Joe Simkins, Jack Brase and Charles Basler. He was the retired owner/operator of an environmental sales company. Marlene L. Schott, 73, of DeSoto passed away on September 7, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Schott was a chemist with Monsanto. Born Nov. 19. 1938 in russellville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Marlin and Freda (Horn) Cothran. She is survived by her husband, Dale Schott of DeSoto, a daughter, Belinda Kopp of S. Louis, two brothers, Ron Cothran of Arkansas and Don (Donna) Cothran of Brook Smith Texas, five grandchildren, Brandi, Eric, Christopher, Shawn and Felycia; and seven great-grandchildren, Kirstyn, Devin, Kaylee, Payton, Amelia Marlene, Righly and Cheyan.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Faye Ellington. Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Billy G. White, Sr, 81, of Cadet, passed away September 24, 2012 at South County Regional Hospital in Rolla. Mr. White was a maintenance worker for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance and was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeSoto. Born September 3, 1931 in Sikeston, he was the son of the late Grant W. and Alice (McKee) White. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois N. (McGinnis) White. He is survived by a son, Billy G. (Karen) White, Jr., of Blackwell; three daughters: Nancy (Joseph) Boyer of Cadet, Debbie (Roger) Hagemann of Cahokia, IL and Anita (Gary) Kenly of Edwardsville, Illinois; two sister, Ann Harmon of Steelville and Earlene (Joe) King of Jackson; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, one granddaughter, Amy Irene White, and one sister. Funeral services were held September 28 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev.
