Virginia Coleman, DeSoto, entered into rest on September 6, 2009 at Baisch Nursing Center at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 20 days. Born in House Springs on May 17, 1923; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Kuhn) Schmitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson J. Coleman, Sr. She is survived by four sons: Nelson (Bonnie) Coleman, Jr, Hartselle, Alabama, Dennis (Glenda) Coleman, DeSoto, Edward (Betty) Coleman, Union, and David (Mary) Coleman, Florissant; five daughters: JoAnn (Paul) Boyer, Fenton, Carolyn (Harry) Dean, Imperial, Jean (Rick) Barton, DeSoto, Sandy (Donnie Miller) Coleman, Cedar Hill, and Terri (Tony) Canania, Imperial; one brother, Elmer (Claudia) Schmitt , DeSoto; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Margaret Coleman and Barbara Coleman. Mrs. Coleman was a cutter for the DeSoto Shoe Factory. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Columbia Ann's, and the Daughters of Isabella. Father Alex Anderson will officiate the funeral mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel. |

Ruth "Bernice" (Batchelor) Woodson, 83, entered into rest Sun, Sept 6, 2009 in Jefferson City, MO. Born Aug 6, 1926, in DeSoto, MO, to the late George & Ruth (Scott) Batchelor. She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Peck" Woodson. She retired from JRMC after 25 yrs of service. She is survived by a son, David (Debbie) Woodson; daughters: Sondra (June) Kempker, Lora McDonald and Vickie Rhives; brother, Richard Batchelor; sisters: Helen Geiler and Isabella "Mary" (Bob) Fairchild; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Teddie "Ted" Weddington, Hillsboro, entered into rest on September 7, 2009 in the DeGreeff Hospice House in St. Louis County, at the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 27 days. Born October 11, 1943 in Wynne, Arkansas; he was the son of Elsie (Loyd) Browning of Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Begley) Weddington of Hillsboro; two sons: Randy (Karen) Weddington, Hillsboro and Michael Weddington of St. Louis; a daughter, Peggy (Bill) Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Zachary, Molly, Megan, Emily, Eddie and Jake; and two great-grandchildren: Austin and Aiden; and one sister, Sammie (Roy) Williams of Arkansas. Mr. Weddington was in the security department for Anheuser Busch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, painting and gardening. He loved his John Deere Tractor and loved his family. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. Reverend Gene Moses officiated the funeral service at Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto Chapel. Burial was private. Troy L. "Nortie" Harris, Bonne Terre, entered into rest on September 10, 2009 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, at the age of 43 years, 9 months and 11 days. Born November 30, 1965 in Crystal City; he was the son of Carl and Joyce (Sampson) Harris. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolann (Jackson) Harris of Bonne Terre. He is also survived by a daughter, Mekayla Harris of Bonne Terre; a brother Todd (Rebecca) Harris of Fenton and a sister, Dawn (Steve) Willcutt) Richwoods. He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Harris in July. Mr. Harris was retired medically from the United States Army National Guard. He is a veteran of the United States Army, having served during Iraq Freedom. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he belonged to a gun club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Father Alex Anderson will officiate the funeral mass with burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Alicia M. (Coble) Kozloski, DeSoto, entered into rest at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on September 10, 2009 at the age of 34 years and 19 days. Born August 22, 1975 in Crystal City; she was the daughter of Harold and Judy (Harbin) Coble of DeSoto. Ms. Kozloski is survived by her parent and two daughters: Alexis Coble and Anna Kozloski both of DeSoto; one sister Elizabeth (Chip) Johnston of Valles Mines. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: George and Georgia Harbin and Ivan and Ila Coble. Ms. Kozloski was a homemaker; she enjoyed horseback riding, loved reading and worked at the Food Panty. She was a member of the DeSoto Community Church of God. Pastor Steve Leach and Pastor Gene Moses will officiate the funeral service. Burial was in Duck Creek Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri. Born December 16, 1919 in Racola, Missouri; she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Nelia (Boyer) Thebeau. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Russell Parker. She is survived by a son, Thomas (Virginia) Parker, College Station, Texas and a daughter, Nancy Kennison of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister Angelia Shepard of Georgia; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Born February 24, 1927 in Missouri; she was the daughter of the late
Albert and Enola (Wagner) LaPlant. She was preceded in death by her
loving husband of 50 plus years, Clifford B. "Doc" Elliott. She is
survived by four daughters: Dianne (Joe) Allen, Colorado, Denise
(Russell) Parks, DeSoto, Charmaine (Dave) Alderson, O'Fallon, and
Collette (Norman) Vinyard of Bonne Terre; ten grandchildren: Lisa,
Brian, Ross, Amber, Zachary, Natalie, Joey, Saes, Suzanne and Sara; nine
grear-grandchildren: Isaac, Nathan, Luke, Victoria, Tyler, Blake,
Thatcher, Autumn and Gage. She was also preceded in death by a brother
Albert "Benny" LaPlant. Mrs. Elliott was a homemaker. She loved to
bowl, enjoyed hunting, reading and working crossword puzzles. Burial
was private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Arrangements were
